I have a flight in July from Providence to LAX with a 50 min layover in Detroit. I have heard that the McNamara terminal is a mile long. Is that enough time between flights? Thanks

Yes, that is enough time. If your gates are far apart there is a train that has 3 stops in the length of the terminal and there are moving walkways throughout the terminal.

I am traveling from ORD to YYZ and on to BCN with 1 hour 3 minutes before my BCN flight. Do I have enough time to get through customs and security. Carryon luggage only. Thank you

    That should be enough time.

I am making this same flight but will have checked luggage. All Star Alliance. Will I have to go through customs and will I have to transfer my checked luggage? It should go through to final destination after being checked at ORD, right?

First time at JFK. Is a 1 hour layover enough time to make a connection from T5 arrival on Hawaiian to T8 departure on American Eagle? This would be at Monday 6:00am arrival at T5.

Purchasing separate tickets? With checked bags that would be impossible. Without checked bags it would be very difficult but not impossible.

  • 45 minute layover, arrive at terminal T, leave at terminal E

Does 45 min. give me enough time to get from terminal T to terminal E? It is a flight from Houston to Atl to US virgin islands. Will our bags be transferred for us?

Also, will we have to go through security again?

Yes, your bags will be transferred for you and no you do not have to go through security. You just have to take the plane train from your arrival concourse to your departure concourse.

  • Detroit to Incheon

My domestic flight from Indianapolis will arrive at Detroit at 2:50PM and my international flight to Incheon is at 3:33 PM. Is 43 minutes enough of a layover? If I miss the Incheon flight, what's going to happen?

It is enough time if your flight from Indianapolis is on-time. All Delta gates at DTW are connected inside security. If you miss your connection you will probably be stuck in Detroit overnight. The Detroit-Seoul flight is pretty much the last flight of the day to Seoul from the entire US. Your only other option for rebooking would be through Los Angeles and then on the 11:30 PM Korean Airlines flight to Seoul.

I was told that I would have to re check luggage at Houston even though both bought at same time and are on same ticket and both airlines are partners. What is correct answer and how difficult is it if required to recheck

That is incorrect, on your way to Istanbul your bags will be tagged through to IST and you will not have to claim them in Houston.

first time fliers,,,,arriving via Dubai to JFK through Emirates (T4) and connecting to Charlotte(T5) Jet blue ...Connecting Time between flights is 2hr 45 min...Is this time enough....and Where would be the immigration and customs....

Upon arrival in JFK you will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs. If you purchased your tickets on one reservation and your bags are tagged through to CLT, you can then re-check them at the transfer desk, otherwise you will have to bring them with you to T5 on the AirTrain. Then you will re-check your bags if you haven't already and get your Jetblue boarding pass if you don't already have it, then go through security and to your departure gate. You should have enough time.

Thanks a ton...I appreciate your quick reply...

Where is the baggage transfer desk located? Inside the cudtoms hall or after you exit the customs hall?

After they exit the customs hall......opposite to welcome center....

Dear SSS Thanks for the information

I am traveling from Pellston airport and arrive at Detroit airport I arrive at Detroit airport for 445pm, my next flight is at 633pm (1 hour 50 later) will this be enough time to claim my bags and re-check in? the flights are both through delta (2nd air france) but have been not been booked together.

Yes, that should be plenty of time. However, if you show your second booking to the agent in Pellston, they could be able to join your bookings together and check your bags through to your final destination.

It depends on the terminal. For the most part LGA doesn't have many features.

Flying delta so I think terminal c and d

    C and D are a little better than A or B.

  • Is 37 mins enough?

Hi! I will be flying from EWR to MBS and have a connecting flight in ORD. Is 37 mins enough if i have to get from terminal 1 to terminal 2? Do i have to recheck my baggage? And how long will it take me to go from one terminal to the other? Both flights are with United Airlines.

You will not have to claim your baggage in ORD. All you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. There is a walkway connecting T1 and T2 inside security. You have enough time if your first flight is on-time. But if you can standby for an earlier flight from Newark, I would do that.

  • International connection in DFW
    May 7, 2015

Hi ZAP, I'm planning on travelling from London Heathrow to Guadalajara (Mexico) via DFW. Flights are with BA from London to DFW, and then AA (operated by US Airways) to Guadalajara. I'm a UK citizen with ESTA clearance, but will have checked baggage. The time in DFW between connections is 1 hour 55 mins on the way out, and 1 15 mins on the way back. Is this cutting it close?

The 1 hr 55 mins on the way there should be fine. 1 hr 15 mins is pretty risky. You won't have to claim your bags because you're on an international to international connection, but everything will have to go perfectly to make your connection on the return.

    Great, thanks very much!

  • Connection time enought and US immigration?

Hello, I'll travel on July 29th from Barcelona (Spain) to Orlando, Charlotte for connection with US airways (American Airlines). Charlotte arriving at 18:35 and the next flight at 20:15, there's enought time to arrive at time?, I need to go to US immigration?, We're spanish citizen.

Yes, in Charlotte on your way to Orlando you will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the transfer desk, then go through security and to your departure gate.

And enought time 1:40 is us airways bith.

Yes, that should be enough time.

And the return flights: Orl to Barcelona 13:55 -- 07:10, but interconection stop at Charlotte, with 1 hour and 8 minutes, all with US Airways. I need to enter again on US custom? Is enought this time? The flisht was bought at american airlines. Thanks.

There is no US Customs when leaving the US. On your return to Barecelona in Charlotte all you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

I arrive from Vienna, Austria at terminal B at 1:45 PM and have to catch a united flight to detroit leaving from Terminal C at 3:32 PM. will I be able to make it?

Yes, that should be barely enough time. Note that your flight to Detroit could leave from terminal A or C, so check the monitors or united.com upon arrival in Newark.

I'm flying into LGA on saturday and I have a 55 minute layover. My flight is on US Airways for both, though my flight in is operated by Envoy Air/American Eagle. I know this is a tight connection and was looking for advice on the best way to get between the two terminals.

US Airways/American operates a shuttle bus inside security between their gates in Terminal C and their gates in Terminal B
