  • TORONTO TO MEXICO. DO I HAVE TO GO THROUGH SECURITY AT JFK?
    Jan 10, 2015

Flying with Delta from Toronto to Mexico with a 1 hr. 10 min. layover. No checked baggage. Will I have enough time? Do I have to go through security at JFK? If I buy liquor at duty-free in Toronto, can I bring it through security at JFK?

You do not have to go through security in JFK. Delta runs a shuttle bus from Terminal 2 where you will arrive to Terminal 4 where you will depart. You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Toronto.

connection jfl-atl-sjo: hi, we arrive on DL from JFK to ATL at 8:39 am and continue on DL to SJO at 9:50 am. is this enough time to make the connection? thanks for any advice.

Yes, that is plenty of time. All you have to do is take the plane train from your arrival concourse to your departure concourse.

    Thanks much for your advice.

  • layover non US citizen - checked baggage

hello, i am due to fly from st lucia in the carribbean to miami airport before i fly onto chicago. i have one & half hour layover. i will have a checked bag. is this a realistic timeframe to go through customs and be able to get my connecting flight? im a non us citizen

It'll be really difficult, immigration and customs in Miami is notoriously slow. However, if you are flying American they at least have lots of flights to Chicago that you can be rebooked on if you miss your connection.

Hi, I fly from OKC to DFW to MBJ and have a 40 min connection. Is this enough time? Thank you.

Yes, that is barely enough time if your first flight is on-time. The SkyLink train connects all terminals inside security. You will depart from Terminal D.

  • 1.30h for changing from klm to ua, is that enough time?

I am flying from Humberside to schipol on klm and from there to Huston on united, in between flights I have 1.30h, will this be enough time to check in? I have only hand baggage.

That should be enough time. Since you don't have checked luggage you should be able to get your United boarding pass at the transfer desk without having to exit the secure area.

will this be ok even if I bought the tickets separate? thank you

Yes, like I said, you should be able to get your United boarding pass at the United Transfer desk.

  • LHR-SEA on Delta then SEA-PDX on Alaska
    Jan 10, 2015

I have a 4 hr layover once I land in SEA coming from LHR on Delta landing at 3:15. I want to purchase a flight on Alaska that leaves at 5:00 so I don't have to wait for my delta connection at 7pm. How hard is it to go through customs and pick up my luggage and go re check in with Alaska and go back through security.

4 hours should be enough time to do that. Upon clearing customs you'll want to follow the signs for passengers ending their journey in Seattle instead of the one for connections.

  • Is 1 hour enough to leave from Terminal A to B at IAH?

Flying from Dallas to Memphis through IAH ,I arrive at terminal A at 9:18 and depart from terminal B at 10:15. I have a luggage checked in .

Yes, that should be enough time. The TerminaLink train connects all terminals inside security.

  • Moving from Terminal 2 to Terminal 5

Hi, I am arriving at ORD from DTE with Delta at 9:31. I then have to catch an international flight with Korean Airlines to Inchoen at Terminal 5. Flight is at 11:30. Do I have enough time to connect? Thank you.

Yes, that should be enough time. If you purchased your tickets together your bags will be transferred and you should be issued both boarding passes in Detroit, so you just have to take the ATS train from T2 to T5 and go through security.

  • LGA to ORD to YVR

I have a UA flight from LGA and arrives at ORD around 336PM and I have to make a connecting flight that leaves at 520 to Vancouver.. Both are with United Airlines. Do I have enough time? Do I need to clear customs? Do I need to claim my bags? ... Thank You

You only have to walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate which will both be in Terminal 1. You do not go through US Customs when leaving the US. You will go through Canadian Immigration and Customs when you get to Vancouver.

  • Connecting between Alaska and American
    Jan 10, 2015
    1
I am looking at a flight that arrives into San Francisco on Alaska at around 4 and leaving on an American flight leaving a little after 5. This would be a connection of 1 hour and 7 minutes. Is this enough time?

It will be difficult but it's possible. You will have to take the Airtrain from the International Terminal to Terminal 2 and go through security.

  • Connecting southwest airlines to air New Zealand
    Jan 10, 2015

Hoping someone can tell me if this connection is too tight. We are flying into southwest terminal at 815pm and have to depart on air New Zealand at 945pm. Is an hour and 30 minutes enough time to collect our checked bags from southwest and get our bags checked and onto our air New Zealand flight? Thanks!

It would be very difficult. I would try to get an earlier flight in to LAX.

  • RECHECK BAGS?
    Jan 9, 2015

Flying into T4 on American and leaving T2 on Hawaii air. The flight was all booked through American. I knew it was not a non-stop, but no idea I may have to re-check bags and go through security again??? Is this correct?

If your flight on American is domestic and you purchased the tickets together then you will not have to re-check your bags. However, you will have to go through security in T2.

Thank you, that is not soooo bad then :)
