Flying from Lincoln,Nebraska to Ottawa Canada, with a connection in Chicago. Only have 1 hour - is that enough time???

Yes, that should be enough time. All you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate, which will be connected inside security.

I land from manchester into gate B27A at Frankfurt and have a layover leaving Frankfurt from gate a06. Does anyone know how far these are in walking distance from each other???

They are fairly close, connected by a tunnel.

AA just changed my arrival in LAX to 8:55am. I have to connect to AS for a 9:45am departure. Separate tickets. Carry on only. Flying First on AS. Can we make the connection? Thanks

Yes, I think you can if you check in online for your AS flight. AA runs a shuttle bus between T4 and T6.

  • connection time to GCM
    Oct 21, 2014
We are arriving MIA at 11:31am with a connection to GCM at 12:30pm. I saw in a previous post our baggage will be checked through. But will this one-hour layover allow us enough time to reach the gate for our connecting flight?

Yes, that should be enough time assuming both flights are on American or American Eagle. All AA gates are connected inside security at MIA.

  • Flying in from Australia

Hi, flying in Air Newzeland 01/11/14 landing at 11.45am. I have a Southwest airlines flight to Houston aleaving at 2.30pm. Do u think I will make the Southwest flight? Please explain the procedure re customs and baggage collection & how to get to the Southwest airlines area?

You will arrive in the International Termina, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, and go through US Customs. Then you have to follow the signs to the airtrain to Terminal 1 and then exit and check your bags with Southwest. If you want a good boarding number, check in with Southwest online before you leave Australia. Also, be aware that Southwest does not fly nonstop from SFO to Houston. So your flight likely stops somewhere else first. Be aware of that.

Thanks for that - do you think 2 hrs or so is enough time to make the Southwest Airlines flight

It's probably enough time. Personally I'd want a little more though. Baggage check lines at Southwest can be pretty long sometimes.

  • 45 minute layover.
    Oct 21, 2014
Hi, i am looking to book a flight and my return journey gives me a 45 minute layover in ATL. It's a Delta flight coming in from SAN with a 45 minute layover in ATL then back to London. Will the 45 minutes be enough and also I will have checked in luggage at SAN. Any help much appreciated. Thanks!

You will check your baggage in SAN and won't see it again until you get to London. Yes, 45 minutes should be enough time if your first flight is on-time. the Plane Train connects all concourses inside security.

Yes, you can take the AirTrain.

  • 1 hr layover,enough time? Passport control?
    Oct 21, 2014
I am flying from SFO to BUD with a 1 hr layover in AMS. Is this enough time to make it for the connection flight? Do I need to go through passport control? Also, would my baggages make it on time fro the connection flight?

You will go through Schengen passport control when you enter the Schengen pier of the terminal. You and your baggage should have enough time if your first flight is on-time.

  • Australian passport and clearing customs in DFW for connecting flight
    Oct 21, 2014
I will be travelling from Cancun to Vegas via DFW on an Australian passport. Both flights are with AA landing at 14.20 with only 1 hour and 35 minutes between landing and takeoff, Will this be enough time to clear customs check in etc?

Yes, that should be enough time. You will arrive in Terminal D, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, then re-check your bags at the transfer desk. Then you will go through security then take the SkyLink train to your departure terminal if it is not Terminal D. You should be issued both boarding passes in Cancun.

  • Connection to Amsterdam
    Oct 20, 2014
Hello! Is one hour enough to make a connection from a domestic US flight (arriving from San Antonio) to an international flight (departing to Amsterdam)?

Yes. that should be plenty of time if your tickets were purchased together. The SkyLink train connects all terminals inside security.

  • Terminal 2 to Terminal 4
    Oct 20, 2014
NZ flight arrives 10:30 AM, American Airlines flight departs 12:55 PM terminal 4. Assuming on-time arrival, can I make this connection?

Yes, you should be OK. If you purchased flights together you can drop your bags at the re-check desk after customs in the International Terminal. Otherwise you will have to take it to Terminal 4 and pay a checked bag fee. Either way you should have enough time. Terminal 4 is directly next to the International Terminal (to your right as you exit the International Terminal).

Also, I should point out that Air New Zealand will be moving from T2 to the International Terminal soon. Those are the instructions for the International Terminal. If you arrive in T2, the instructions are similar and you still have enough time, but it's a longer trip between Terminals.

  • Connecting at DCA
    Mar 6, 2015
I am connecting with US airways from gate 35 to gate 23. The terminal map shows I may have to go through security. Is this the case? How much time do I need to do this?

That is correct. However, security lines at DCA tend to be short. You should be OK with a 40 minute connection, 30 minutes may be doable.

There is a shuttle service at gate 38 that will take you all the way to the Center Pier without having to deal with security. 5 minute wait and ride. Sometimes less.

what gate does the shuttle arrive at the center pier?

gate 38 to what other gate ?

  • 1h45 international connection
    Oct 20, 2014
Hi, I'm looking to book a flight from London to ATL to a US Delta connection. I have 1h45mins from arrival, thru immigration, customs, re-check bags and get to the new gate. Is that possible? It is a combined ticket Virgin/Delta if that makes any difference. All with a toddler.

Yes, that is possible. You have the procedure correct.

  • Southwest 40 minute connection
    Oct 24, 2014
Flying Southwest through DEN on a Wednesday afternoon with a 40 minute connection. I've not flown through DEN before - are all of the Southwest gates located in the same terminal? Inbound flight is from Burbank/BUR so I'm hoping for less chance of a late arrival. I can run between gates for sure, just trying to scope out in advance how much time I might have. Thanks.

DEN only has one terminal and nearly all of Southwest's gates are on Concourse C. 40 minutes should be plenty of time if your first flight is on-time.

Thank you ZAP, really appreciate your response ! Feeling better now for sure.

ZAP or others, I saw on flightaware that the Southwest flight 3147 from DEN to JAX sometimes departs from an A concourse gate instead of a C gate. Any idea how soon the gates are assigned for the inbound and outbound flights? And, is the train/tram between concourses pretty quick if I end up flying out of an A gate? Thanks.

Gates are assigned the day of the flight. Yes, the train is quite fast. Should take less than 10 minutes if you happen to arrive or depart from A.

Thanks again ZAP - worked out great on outbound - both were C gates (into C46, out of C26), plus which we landed fifteen minutes early - more than enough time between. Thank you very much for helping me out with this !
