I am arriving from Indianapolis on United and departing on United to London, 40 min between flights. Will I have to go through security since I did in Indianapolis?

No, you will not, both of your gates will be connected beyond security. Just look at the monitors for your next gate and follow the signs.

United uses mainly Terminal C, but also uses Terminal A for some domestic flights. These terminals are located on opposite ends, served by a shuttle bus from Gate A28 To gate C71. If arriving at TA, you will barely make it, even though you need not go through security check. Terminal C has three gate areas: 1. Gate Area C1, arranged in a Y-shape, with gates C70-99; 2. Gate Area C2 (gates C101-C115); and 3. Gate Area C3 (gates C120-139). For details on your arrival flight, open http://www.panynj.gov/airports/newark-liberty.html - under 'Track Flights, left side, enter flight number, airline & date.

My wife and I are flying from Nuremberg to Frankfurt and on to Denver. We have only 50 minutes in Frankfurt between the lufthansa flights (flight LH0147 and LH 0446. Is that enough--will they be doing passport control etc. My wife doesn't walk fast as she had a cardiac condition

I don't believe there will be any passport control but there will likely be security at your gate. Frankfurt is built to handle tight connections.

  • Frontier Airlines?

Flying Frontier Airlines 619/787 (IND to DEN to LAS) with only a 40 min layover. I *have* to get back to Vegas on the day of my flight (there is one later Frontier flight out of DEN that day) - but will I make my connection?

All the Frontier gates at Denver are close together so as long as your first flight is on-time you should be OK.

Hi! I have an international flight arriving at 5:50 AM, connecting flight to DTW is 7:25 AM. Will I have enough time to collect bags, clear customs and make my flight?? How far is the domestic terminal from International? I'm a US passport holder...if that helps?

Can you be more specific about where you're connecting and what airline(s) you are flying?

We will be traveling from Istanbul, Turkey to Dallas, TX on May 7, 2013 (Friday) with connection in IAH. I am an American citizen but my wife is not (greencard). Our US born daughter (16 months old) will also be traveling with us. Will 1 hour and 45 minutes between flights be enough to clear customs and get from Terminal D to Terminal A to make our connecting flight to Dallas? Also, Orbitz states that the flight from Istanbul will also land in Terminal A, is it possible since Terminal A is not international? Thank you very much in advance!

Orbitz is wrong. Turkish Airlines flights at IAH arrive in Terminal D. What airline is your Dallas flight on? If it's on United mainline it will leave from C, if it's on United Express it could leave from A-North, B, or C. If it's on American it will be from A-south. It will be a very tight connection but luckily if you miss it there are many other flights from IAH to Dallas that you could be rebooked on.

Thank you very much for your reply

Can you walk from Terminal 1 to Terminal 2 at SFO once you are at the gates and beyond security checkpoint?

You need to take the red-line of the AirTrain and go through security check at T2. (open http://www.flysfo.com/web/page/as_airportmaps.htm)

The connection is not on the secure side.

Departing from Rochester, New York - 50 minute layover in DTW before connecting flight to Dallas Fort Worth. Is 50 minutes enough time? Flying Delta.

Yes, that should be enough time. Connections at DTW are fairly easy.

is there any place to get a latte in US Airways terminal

There are several starbucks in CLT

is the coffee or Starbucks located in the US airways terminal?

CLT only has one terminal (all the gates are connected at CLT). There will likely be one near your gate/gates.

(United) San Antonio - IAD - South Africa. Ninety minute layover Tuesday at 4:00 pm. Is that enough time. Do we have to go through TSA again

You will not have to go through security again. All gates at IAD are connected beyond security. You just have to take the Aerotrain from where you arrive (likely C) to B.

I am flying in to Frankfurt with Lufthansa and only have 1 hour to switch planes to a Lufthansa flight to Addis...is that enough time?

On arrival at ID, all incoming flights from the U.S. are being handled at Area A. After passport control, a tunnel connects Concourse A with Concourse B (Lufthansa uses both Concourses. Your time should suffice.

arriving JFK T4 with international flight (SAA) and need to catch Delta flight at T2 to Orlando. Will 2h20 be enough to collect baggage, clear customs, change terminals, check baggage for Delta flight?

It may be enough time but it may not be. There are reports of immigration taking a really long time at JFK, but it varies a lot by time of day and terminal. You may get lucky.

I arrive FRA and must transfer to United flight to US in 40 min. Where are the likely gates of arrival and departure and how to get there?

    Arrival is on Lufthansa....I forgot.

At FRA, U.S. arrivals are being processed at Area A of Terminal 1 where they go through passport control only; (US departures use the Z gates). Lufthansa uses Piers (Concourses) A & B, while United uses B. To get to Concourse B use the SkyLine train inside security, departing every 2-3 mins. (or take the transfer tunnel outside security). B gates: B1-B63. Hurry!
