My parents are flying United on Jan. 1 from Indianapolis to Dulles with a 50 minute connection time to make their United flight to Bahrain. Is this going to be enough time? Do you have any idea what concourse they will fly into and leave from?

They will arrive in A or C and depart from D. If they arrive in A they will have to take the mobile lounge to D but if they arrive in C they can just walk. Either way they won't have to go through any security and if their first flight is on-time they should have enough time.

Hi we are flying from EWR a domestic flight united airlines and have a layover at IAH for Costa Rica an international flight also united. Is there enough time to transfer planes?

Well, you didn't post how much time you your itinerary currently allows, so I don't know if you'll have enough time. But you should arrive in Terminal C or E and depart from E, which is all connected beyond security.

44 minutes. Thank you for your help

Yes, if your first flight is on-time you should be OK.

    Thank you for being helpful

  • Advice on Terminal

I will be flying to Hong-Kong from LAX Terminal B and shall be coming from San Jose on Terminal 4 AA Is terminal 4 and terminal B inter-connected and do i need to re-collect my boarding pass

Terminal 4 and the International Terminal are located next to each other but you will have to go outside and may have to go to the Cathay Pacific check-in desk to get a proper boarding pass. You will have to go through security again once you get to the International Terminal as well.

I'm also flying from San Jose to LAX on American and then to Hong Kong on Cathay Pacific. Both flights are on the same ticket. I was told that my bags are checked through to Hong Kong. I'm assuming that I don't need to check in to my CX flight when I get into LAX? However, my big concern is that there is only one hour between my arrival from San Jose to my departure to Hong Kong. Will that be enough time? Since both flights are scheduled with American Airlines, I think they would tell me if the connection does not work?

  • Connection, Coming from Miami with Delta, leaving to Milan with Alital

Hi. Can anyone advise the procedure we will have to take the 1st of january landing in JFK from Miami with Delta flight number 1671 (landing time expected:3:11pm ) and then going to take the alitalia flight at terminal 1 to Milan at 8pm(flight number: a z0605? thank you in advance

You will arrive in Terminal 2 or 4. You will then have to take the AirTrain/Air Terminals Train to Terminal 1 where you will go through security and to your gate. Your bags should be checked through to Milan. You will have plenty of time.

Have to change my flight in Dulles to an international flight. Portland, Maine > Dulles Dulles > Frankfurt, Germany I have 57 mins to change the flight. Is that enough?

At this time of the year you may also have to take flight delays into consideration. You arrival at, and departure from, IAD depends on which airline(s) you take. Also, on whether you bought both flights on one ticket - make sure that your first airline transfers bags to your second one. If not you would have claim bags & re-check them in. Most likely you arrive aat either A, B or C gates and will depart from D gates: The AeroTrain only serves gates: A1-32, B35-79, and C1-30; however, the C gates C1-30 & D gates D1-32 are connected by a walkway. With no flight delay & baggage transfer, you have enough time.

All you will have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate (assuming you bought your tickets on one reservation). You should have enough time if your first flight is on-time.

  • enough time?

I arrive LAX from Seattle at 8:55pm. Term. 6 on Alaska. I Need to get bags from bag claim, go to Bradley & check in again for flight on Quantas to Melbourne, Australia at 11:30pm. Is that enough time? My only other choice is to arrive LAX at 7pm. Terminal maps don't show where I pickup up my bag and how to get to bradley.

Yes you have enough time for transfer. On arrival at T6, get your bag and exit the terminal. Take the LAX bus Route A on lower arrival level island under sign 'LAX shuttle airline connection', which runs every 12-15 mins. Your next stops are T8, going around the bend to T1, T2, T3 and then TBIT (Bradley)- count on about 12 mins. Check-in counters at TBIT are on level 2. Thereafter go through security check and follow signs to your Concourse which is either E or F. (Look at overhead screens for flight & gate numbers). To familiarize yourself with the Airport layout, I suggest you open www.ifly.com/lax, then click on 'Terminal Map' under 'QUICK LINKS', and scroll down to the detailed text.

You can also walk from T6 to the TBIT fairly easily.

I reserve my flights online using my frequent airline points. I will be flying from Montreal, Canada (YUL) to Newark (EWR) by United Airlines arriving terminal A. Then making a connecting flight from terminal C to London, England UK (LHR) by United Airlines. I looked at my itinerary the time is very tight, I only have approx. 80 minutes to run from A to C, will I have enough time to make my connecting flight? I have a limping leg which will slow me down a little, how far form TA to TC ? also since I travel from Canada do I have to check out my luggages at Newark then check in again for the flight to England? Please advise

You will pre-clear US Customs and immigration in Montreal. You will not have to claim your baggage in Newark. United runs a shuttle bus that runs inside security from Terminal A to Terminal C. If your first flight is on-time you should have plenty of time for your transfer.

  • ARRIVING AT TERMINAL E AND GOING TO TERMINAL C

Hi. I am arriving to IAH from UK on 31 Dec 2013 at 2:05pm in UA 0920 and has only hand luggage. After I pass through security where do I go to get the inter terminal train to take to Terminal C. Please direct me. Thanks. Luz

You do not have to take the Inter-Terminal train to go from E to C. However, if your flight is not from C, the Inter-Terminal Train runs outside security and the TerminaLink train runs inside security. You can just follow signs to your departure terminal.

i'm coming from Moscow Sheremetyevo, SVO airport to San Diego Lindbergh International, SAN airport. But my connection flight is through John F Kennedy International airport. I have 2 hours. Can i make on time to my flight to San diego? how long it takes to go though 1T to 2T? Do i need to go to customs?

I'm assuming you are flying Aeroflot from SVO to JFK and Delta to San Diego and booked your tickets on a single reservation. If so you will arrive in Terminal 1 where you will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, and then go through US Customs, then re-check your bags. You will then take the AirTrain/Air Terminals Train from T1 to T2 (if your flight to San Diego's Delta flight number starts with 2 or T4 (if it starts with 4) and then go through security and to your gate. You will have to hope your flight from Moscow is on-time and hurry, you will barely have enough time.

how fast does it takes to re-check my bags? when i will claim my bag where i need to go to re-check them? i hope i will make on time

You will claim them between clearing immigration and clearing customs. The re-check desk will be after you exit customs. There will be ample signage. Time to do it will depend how crowded it is, I can't really estimate exactly.

Where can I call to check today if my passenger made the flight connection to Dallas US 3801- I have a shuttle arranged for pick up and need to know if my guest missed or not so I can release the driver in case my guest never made it.

Airlines cannot release that information. You'll have to get in touch with the passenger.

  • Travelling from Phoenix to Istanbul via O'hare in two separate tickets
    Dec 28, 2013

Hi - I have booked two separate tickets one from Phoenix to O'hare(American Airlines) and other one from O'hare to Istanbul(Turkish Airlines) and the connection time between two flights is apprx 2 hr 40 mins. Could you pls let me know if I can check my buggage all the way to Istanbul from Phoenix and the connection time is sufficient as I have 3 checked in baggages ?

US Airways and Turkish have an interline agreement but since you booked separate tickets they are under no obligation to check the bags through for you, but it doesn't hurt to ask. If your first flight is on-time you should have enough time, even if you have to move the bags yourself via the ATS train from T2 to T5.

Just a small correction that from phoenix its American airlines.. is it going to be from t2 to t5

No, if your flight from Phoenix is on American it will arrive in T3. Otherwise the procedure is the same.

Thanks - IF american airlines flight gets delayed and i cant onboard Turkish airlines. Will AA compensate and book my onward journey ?

You will likely be rebooked for the Turkish Airlines flight the following day (and you will have to contact Turkish for this and explain that you were late due to an inbound connection). You will not receive any other compensation since you booked the reservations separately.

I will be flying in from Orlando and will be making a connection flight to Durango. I have 40 minutes in between flights. Should I have sufficient time?

If your first flight is on-time that will be enough time (assuming both flights are on United). All United and United Express flights use the B concourse at DEN.

I'll be arriving with American at terminal 4 and i have a connecting flight at terminal B, do i have to claim my baggage and check it again at terminal B? Thanks!!

By "Terminal B" do you mean the International Terminal? What airline are you flying out of the International Terminal? Were both tickets bought on the same reservation or not?

  • Short connection from Delta to Alitalia
    Dec 28, 2013

A group of 27 of us will arrive at terminal 2 at JFK on a Delta flight from MSP. We are connecting with an Alitalia flight that leaves from terminal 1. We have only 90 minutes layover. Our bags will have been checked all the way through to Tel Aviv but I am wondering how long it takes to get from T2 to T1.

You will have to hope your first flight is on-time and hurry. It will probably take about a half hour to 45 minutes to take the AirTrain/Air Terminals Train to T1 and go through security.

Thanks for this info. With a group, what would be the chances of Alitatia holding the flight for us?

It's possible, there's no clear and public policies on when flights are held and when they are not. It also depends how late your inbound flight is (if it is). If it's clear you won't be there around departure time, they will definitely leave without you.

Also, since Delta has a nonstop from JFK to Tel Aviv (where it appears you are going) which leaves late in the evening, it's possible that if you miss your connection and there are seats available, that Delta could rebook you for that flight.

    Thanks. This is very helpful.

  • transferring checked baggage for connecting flight

Arriving IAD on US Airways, connecting to Emirates, with only 1 and a half hours for transfer. Will my checked baggage get transferred in time?

If your tickets were bought on a single reservation and are checked through to Emirates, yes, that should be enough time.
