  • PDX to ATL, terminal transfer to ECP

When flying Delta from PDX to ATL with a 38 minute transfer to ECP, is it possible to make the flight on time? Flights 728 to 2111.

While Delta uses domestic Concourses A, B, & C with corresponding gates, the underground Plane Train stops on each Concourse at its center. You have enough time - simply follow the Plane Train signs.

Which is the fastest way to go to catch a domestic connection flight (short layover) and where is the underground plane train located

I suggest you open www.ifly.com/atl and click on "Terminal Map" under QUICK LINKS, then scroll down to the text. If you arrive at ATL on an international flight, pay attention to "International Arrivals" and transfers.

Ill be flying from Singapore to Washington DC with connecting flights in Hong Kong and O'Hare. Arriving O'hare T5 connecting to another UA flight at T1. Do i need to claim my checked baggage when reached O'hare and re-check in again or i'll meet my checked baggage in Washington Dulles?

    1. As an international arrival at ORD Airport, you need to go through passport check, retrieve checked bags, go through customs clearance and - if transferring to another flight - re-check-in bag where indicated; then proceed up one level to the Airport Transit System (ATS) station and take the train to your connecting Terminal 1. The free shuttle train runs every few minutes.

O'hare ETA 11:20. Departing for IAD at 1:00pm. Do i have enough time?

I don't think you have enough time. you need at least 3-4 hours to get checked and move around if you are lucky enough

I am flying from detroit on united express flight no. 5734 arrive @ 9:01 pm wonder whether 49 min enough to connect with United flight 932 to Frankfurt @ 9:50 pm

You arrive at Concourse C of IAD and depart from either of Concourses A, B , C or D (with corresponding gates - our ticket and the overhead screen will indicate your departure gate). Follow signs 'TO BAGGAGE CLAIM / GROUND TRANSPORTATION'; domestic arrivals should follow the AeroTrain sign; the Underground Aerotrain runs in a continuous loop from the main terminal's post-security area to the center of the midfield concourses A/B and C/D, takes minutes, but presently does not serve the D gates; it can be used for the following gates: A1-32, B35-79, and C1-30. The Mobile Lounge shutttle will take you to gates D1-32 and H-gates.

Thanks frnov12, do I understand that this time is enough to move between the flights. how much time will be to the flight to drop the bags and claim them?

  • Aruba to CLT to Houston

Coming in from Aruba and know I have to clear customs, collect and re-check luggage to get IAH-Houston flight. All on US Airways. 1 hour 7 min connection time. My question is how efficient is the customs/re-check in CLT at 7-8PM on a Monday night with 67 minutes connection time. I have Trusted Traveller access but my wife does not.

You will clear USA customs and immigration in Aruba and not in CLT - you need very little time in CLT

I'm travelling from seattle on united airlines 1563arriving at IAD @ 9:10pm. From there I'm catching an United Airlines flight 932 to Frankfurt which leaves at 9:40pm. My luggage is getting sent straight to Frankfurt so I won't have to retrieve it. How do I get to the departure gate? This is the first time I'm travelling by myself and I'm quite nervous. Please help!

Dorry it leaves at 9:50pm.. I have 40mins.

Thanks for the reply. Since Im coming on a domestic flight, do I have to go through security again when I go to catch my international flight to Frankfurt?

  • long waiting hours in T4

I am arriving in T4 in jfk for emirates flight at 5: 30 am . I am waiting for my hubby to join with me and go together in the night 11pm flight. Is there any way to check in my bags in the morning and pass the security check.

Assuming you arrive at JFK by Emirates Airways, you need to contact Emirates to find out if they transfer your bags to your connecting airline flight. On arrival at JFK you need to go through passport control, pick up your bags and go through customs clearance - if Emirates transfers bags - re-check them in where indicated - if not, take your bag to the departures level and re-check it in at your connecting airline's counter. (Thereafter you can take the Airtrain to the city. I suggest you open www.ifly.com/jfk and click on "Terminal Map" under QUICK LINKS, then move down to the detailed text.

I will be landing at ATL from PTY(Panama City) at 1:30 PM with Delta from the International Terminal and then will have a US Airways flight that departs at 2:50 PM from likely Terminal T(since all the non-Delta/non-Airtran-Southwest domestic airlines use Terminal T). Am I giving myself enough time and what can I do to help make sure every minute counts?

On arrival at ATL, and after going through International Arrivals customs clearance procedure, follow signs to the 'Plane Train' serving all concourses in the center of their gate arrangements. Also, the Terminal Connector Shuttle located outside the Arrivals level takes you to the Domestic Terminal - a 12-minute ride. Note, however, that if Delta does not transfer your bags to US Airways (which are in Concourse D) - you would need to take your bags to the Domestic Terminal (taking instead the Terminal Connector Shuttle outside arrivals and taking 15 mins)and check them in at the US Airways counter, then take the Plane Train to Concourse D.

am arriving on UExpress terminal A at 7:4r5AM, and leaving From TC at 10:45.for Tokyo. Would love to meet with old friend during my 3 hr layover. Do I Have time? I will be receiving handicapped assistance dur to knee surgery.

    1. You need to contact your airline at least 24 hrs prior to arrival. 2. Find out if United Express will transfer your bags to your Tokyo airline flight - if not, you would have to claim your bag and take it along to TC, to check it in there. 3. I suggest that your buddy will meet you near the information counter on the arrivals level, where he then can take you onto the Airtrain (accessible) to your departure TC. There he should go to the connecting airline counter and get a wheelchair & and so-called 'non-flying boarding pass' enabling him to get you through security check, to the post-security food & retail outlets and then delivering you to your connecting gate. The train running between the terminals serves pre-security areas of the terminals, runs every 8 mins and takes only minutes between the 3 terminals.

Is 1 hr enough time to make a connection on a US Airways flight from ATL to US Airways flight to HNL? Thanks!

US Airways uses Terminal 4, using gates A1-A14 & A17-A30 and B gates B1-14; just follow signs - you have enough time.

Stopped in for some bacon and eggs. food was good and service at the bar was quick. Scrambled eggs were par and acceptable; bacon was crispy; wheat toast was medium sized and fluffy; all were served hot and with a smile! I would return.

  • Atlanta interntl terminal to C gate?
    Nov 19, 2012

At Atlanta Hartfield, Is the new international F terminal connected to the C gates by train? If we check in for an international flight at F then how do we get to a flight on C?

You cannot 'check in' at International Terminal and depart from Domestic Terminal. Presuming you arrive from an international flight at the International Terminal, & need to transfer to the Domestic Terminal: After debarkation, passengers walk the corridor towards the escalators taking them to the Arrivals level, where they go through customs & Immigration, then proceed to the baggage claim area which has 7 carousels. (a) Connecting passengers recheck-in their bags by proceeding to the transit area past baggage claim and turning left to baggage recheck counters, then follow signs to Concourse F Plane Train station or pedestrian walkway connecting to Concourse C of the Domestic terminal.

Level G of Terminal 1 is the Ground Transportation level. You can also stop by at Level 1, Arrivals, and go to any information desk.
