If one takes the shuttle bus from Terminal A to C to get to a connecting flight will one have to go through security? What is the travel time for this?

The shuttle bus runs on the secure side of the airport, so you don't have to go through security again.

A friend and I arrive from Syracuse at 11:28 am on United Express (which tends to be in terminal A) and have to connect to United flight Phoenix, AZ that departs at 12:09pm. United confirmed its a valid connection. What is the fastest and easiest way to get from Terminal A to C?

There's a shuttle bus between A and C that runs on the secure side, but taking it can still take 15-20 minutes. You will have to hope that your first flight is on time to have any hope of making this connection. At least there are flights later in the day and/or other options to re-book you to phoenix if you miss your connection.

I don't understand why they would schedule a flight so close together. But thank you for your help.

I will be flying landing at 8:26 on United Express (term B?) & depart at 9:09 United (term C?). Last time I travelled United our connection gate was closed 10 min to departure and we were bumped off the flight even though we were at the gate prior to 'departure time' (SanFran). On the express jet I believe they will put my rolling carryon below as they do not have the large overheads - so I will have to wait for it to be brought up. This combined with changing terminals in an unfamiliar airport in Houston has my worried. What are my odds at making the connection this time? :-) Thank you!

I should have specified these are domestic morning flights through IAH.

United uses Terminals A, B, C & E at IAH - your ticket /boarding pass should indicate your gate number (i.e., C14). The above-ground TerminaLink train connects the terminals inside security. I suggest you open www.ifly.com/iah, then click on 'Terminal Map' under QUICK LINKS and scroll down to the detailed text. 30 mins transfer time should suffice.

My e-ticket does not cite terminals/gates. I did look at the map...hence my apprehension as it requires a change of buildings.

Expressjet flights usually arrive from A&B and United Mainline flights depart from C, since you're domestic it will probably depart from C. As you said regarding your concerns about gate checked bags, you will really have to hurry and hope your first flight is on-time. At least you will be traveling in the morning when there's a better chance things will be running on time and when there are likely better chances to be rebooked if you miss your connection.

so if you take the train from your domestic arrival terminal in atl to the international terminal, do you have to go through security screening or can you directly go to the concourse?

You can go directly to the concourse.

I am flying into schiphol airport on 17/05/2013 from aberdeen, with a connecting flight to hannover. Once through customs do I have to collect baggage or is it automatically put on connecting flight. Also does anyone know what gate I would need to go to or how you connect to next flight as not much time between flights.

In general, same airline for both flights or fights by more than one airline, but on a single ticket, will automatically transfer. However, some airlines don't transfer to a particular other airline. Your ticket and the overhead screens on arrival indicate your flight & gate number, i.e. AF45 (code for Air France, gate 45). I suggest you open www.ifly.com/ams then click on 'Terminal Map' under QUICK LINKS and scroll down to the detailed text.

  • Dub - ORD -Toronto on American Airlines

Hi Flying to Toronto via ORD, I assume we will clear US border control in Dublin, so we should have a clear run when we land, to our connecting flight. Will our bags get checked all the way through to Canada?

Yes, your bags will be checked straight through to Canada. However if your DUB-ORD flight is on Aer Lingus you will have to take the ATS train from Terminal 5 to your next terminal and go back through security.

    Thanks, flying with American Airlines

I ment I had a flight from terminal 7 and had to get to a flight in terminal 2

That will be quite difficult in the time you have. You can take the shuttle around the baggage claim level or attempt to walk across the center of the airport. You'll then have to go through security again in T2.

Hi I have 1 hour 20 minutes to get from terminal 7 to 2 ua flight and air Canada flight at terminal 2. I'm new to lax and I need help

At LAX, on arrival at T7, go down to the ground level, exit and take the LAX bus Route A on lower arrival level island in front of each terminal, under sign 'LAX shuttle airline connection', which runs every 12-15 mins. Your next stops will be T8, around the bend to T1 & T2 - 3 stops or about 8 mins. At T2, go up to the departure level, go through security check and proceed to your gate area. T2 has gates 21-28.

    Thank you so much

I will be arriving from London on BA at 3pm. I know I will have to go through immigrationa and customs. Our flight to Honolulu leaves at 6pm. Will that be enough time? Is there any fasttrack lanes? We are travelling on with American Airlines on a seperate ticket but as the are alliance airlines wil that mean I can check luggage through from London please? Any tips welcome.

That should be enough time - you would have to ask BA if they can check your bags through - perhaps you could call them to ask. Terminal 4 is right next to the TBIT so you won't have far to walk.

Thanks for that - I'll ask BA.

On AA1194 from Orlando Arr 17:45 then on IB4194 (T3) leaving 18:20. Will there be enough time to make connection? Can you please confirm that baggage will be transferred onto the flight please and what terminal etc? Many thanks Many thanks

Yes, your baggage will be checked through to your Iberia flight. If your Orlando flight is on time then you will barely have enough time. Also, check the operating carrier of your flight, I believe Iberia 4194 is a code-share flight actually operated by American. If you miss your connection you'll probably get sent to Manchester on a later flight via London.

My wife and kids arrive at gate C33 and need to get to gate C47. How long of a walk is that?

You arrive at Concourse C of the Jeppesen Terminal at gates west C28-39 and need to look for the sign to gates west C40-49. My guess is a 10-minute walk.
