  • SJC to Austin, TX
    Dec 3, 2012
Am flying on a Sunday from SJC to Austin via PHX. Is 35 minutes enough time to make the connection (provided there are no delays)?

Your arrival and departure terminal is determined on which arline you take. I suggest you open and click on 'Terminal Map' under QUICK LINKS, then scroll down to the detailed text below the map. 35 mins transfer time is hardly enough.

I fly in from Den on Flight 75 and out on 1474 to Grand cayman our layover is only an hour and 4 min we will have a checked bag. Does this give us enough time to reach the gate??

Without Airline name I cannot give you directions (Denver Airport has Terminals A - E) - If you use two airlines and the first does not transfer your bags to the second one, you need to claim your bags on arrival and take them to the connecting terminal for re-check-in. Open and click on "Terminal Map" under QUICK LINKS, then scroll down to the detailed text.

  • Help Getting to my gate if short on time
    Dec 2, 2012
I am arriving from Ottawa at 6;45 and have a connecting flight to Rome at 7:35. Will there be those golf carts around to help me get to my gate on time?

That depends on if your incoming Airline to FRA will transfer your bags to your connecting flight; if not, you would have to take your bags & check them in with your next connecting airline. Note: (a) If you do not yet have a boarding card for your connecting flight, you can obtain one at the gate or at the Transfer Desk in the B Concourse of Terminal 1. 2. U.S. Arrivals are being processed at Area A where they go through passport control only. 3. If you need to transfer inside Terminal 1, between B gates (T1B) and A or Z gates (T1A), you can use transfer tunnel outside security, or the SkyLine train inside security, which leaves every 2-3 mins. An escalator from lower level A gates connects to upper level Z gates. 4. If you need to transfer between the two terminals, use the free SkyLine train which connects - inside the secured area - A & B gates & stops between D & E gates, and comes around every two minutes. To get from level 1 baggage claim A, B & C, to E & D, use the shuttle bus outside. 4. Carts are free at the inspection areas; and available inside & outside of baggage claim level. You have no time to waste!

  • 1 hour layover - domestic south to inter
    Dec 2, 2012
I have 1 hour between SFO-Atlanta-Brasilia, Brazil and need to transfer from domestic South to International. Will I have enough time?

Note that Atlanta's Domestic Concourses are T, A to D, with corresponding gates; The International Terminal uses Concourses E & F. At ATL, if arriving from a domestic flight & transferring to an international flight: (a) if arriving on a single ticket, you can proceed to your connecting gate by taking the underground Plane Train, stopping at the center of each Concourse. (b) if arriving on two tickets issued by non-participating airlines, you need to collect your bags and take them with you on the terminal connector shuttle located at the ground transport center; from there it takes 15 minutes to get to the International Terminal, where you have to check-in your bag again and then go through security and on to your gates. With baggage re-check you will have a very tight transfer schedule.

Champagne are cheap at this airport. I found DOM Perigon 2003 at EUR 122! If not cheapest, still much cheaper than what you can find at ZRH, LIS, DME, FRA, CDG, BKK, HKG, JFK as I were at those airport during NOV 2012 and was checking the prices. Recommend for all wine and champagne buyers.

  • how far?
    Dec 1, 2012
I arrive at 2E tomorrow and my family arrive at 2B ROUGHLY 15 MINS LATER BUT THE TRANSFER IS PICKING US UP FROM 2B....How long will it take me to get over to them and is it far as i will be on my own with my young daughter?

Upon arrival at DeGaulle Airport passing the non-Schengen passport control, & claiming your bags, take the free 'Aeroports de Paris' shuttle from Satellite 2A to Satellite 2B. The shuttle runs every 15-30 mins (depending on time of day).

  • Walking time
    Dec 1, 2012
How long to walk between C-7 and D-28?

On arrival at Concourse C, gate 7, walk towards gate C10 and take the underground tunnel to Concourse D: gates D2-14 are on both sides of the tunnel entrance, followed by 4 gateways at opposite side - follow gateway D28A-F.

Allow about 10 minutes or more if you cannot walk briskly. There is a moving walkway for most of the tunnel, and often an electric cart available if assistance is needed.

  • SW gates arrival to SW gates departure
    Dec 1, 2012
Help for guiding a 15 yr old, arriving in Las Vegas from San Antonio SW Airlines, departure to Portland SW Airlines

Southwest Airlines uses Terminal 1, B & C gates. The ticket & the overhead screen on arrival will indicate airline and gate number. If arriving at B gates and needing to transfer to C gates take the connector between gates B6 and B9, where you will have to go through security check with first gate C25 and last gate C1.

  • How do I get from terminal A to B
    Dec 31, 2013
Hi, I'm flying from Toronto by United Airlines to Newark airport, I arrive in terminal A and I have and hour and a half till the next flight which is in terminal B to Zurich. Please tell me when I arrive where should I go after? Will my luggage be delivered to terminal B or do I have to pick it up ? Is it enough time to make it for my next flight ?

Once you go past customs, there is a monrail or buses available for transfer between terminals. The terminals are right next to each other so travel time should be 5 to 10 minutes.

I'm flying in from SJC to PHX on Southwest and then traveling on USAir/Horizon to Flagstaff. I have 50 mins to transfer. Do I have enough time?

You arrive & depart from the large Terminal 4 - after security checkpoint, moving walkways connect all gates A - D on three sides of the food court: US Airways uses gates A1-14 & A17-30 & B1-14. Southwest uses gates C1-20 & D1-D8. Check on arrival the overhead screens for your connecting gate. You have enough time.

  • plane train or airtrain
    Nov 29, 2012
I have to transfer from Terminal S to Terminal I in one hour. I dont have to pick up my luggage because my flights are with delta. I want to know which is the fastest and easier way to go to terminal I from terminal S. Is it plane train or airtrain??

At ATL, note that Delta uses Concourses A through F (separate buildings) with corresponding gates. (E & F gates are international gates). All Concourses - domestic & international - are connected by the underground 'Plane Train' stopping at the center of each Concourse. Simply follow signs. You have enough time.

  • International Flight on December 22nd
    Nov 29, 2012
Hi, I'm kind of worried, because my flight is going from LAX to PHL on December 22nd. I will arrive at 4:35 PM in Philadelphia at Terminal B and my connection flight to Munich, Germany will go at around 6:30 PM. Is it enough time? And what if my flight from LAX - PHL is delayed? Will the Ariline wait for me? I fly with U.S. Airways

On arrival at PHL you arrive at Concourse A-East (with gates A1-13); you may also depart from there, or from the adjacent Concourse A-West (with gates A14-26) - simply walk over to your connecting gate. You have plenty of time!

  • Connection time
    Nov 29, 2012
Hi there, I'm arriving from ORF (norfolk) and have a connecting flight to make on United from ORD to YVR (Vancouver Canada) and only have 1 hr 35 min to make the connection. Will that be enough time?

At ORD, United uses Terminals 1, 2 & 5 (T5 is for United international arrivals only). T1 has Concourse B with gates B1-22 & C with gates C1-32; T2 has Concourse E with gates E1A-15 and Concourse F with gates F1-14 & n its lower level gates F11A, B & C. The ATS shuttle train runs every few minutes between Terminal 5's and domestic terminals 1, 2 & 3. Look on arrival at overhead screen to find your connecting flight & gate number. You have enough time. Alternatively to get from T2 to T1: Note that all gate areas of all terminals are not connected, but the secured area, which is the upper level (Departures) has, right after you walk from gate F8 past gate F1, at right end a connector to Terminal 1, where you will arrive again in the secured area, and where you should proceed to nearby gate B6, walk past gate B8 (at right), take walkway to C gates, turn left to gate C15.

thnov, please stop leaving boilerplate responses - they aren't helpful. You can walk between your ORF flight and YVR flight without having to go through security. You will arrive in Terminal 2 and depart from Terminal 1. They are connected. Worst case walk time is about 20 minutes, so 1hr 35 minutes is plenty of time.

Thank you so much for your thoughtful answer :)

flying USAir - from Roanoke, Va leaving at 8:14 arriving Charlotte at 9:19 - connecting USAir (international) somewhere in the Charlotte Airport leaving at 9:59. I am very concerned we won't have enough time to make the this a valid concern? USAir has changed our flights 3 times, making the departure from Roanoke later and later.

    1. At CLT, US Airways uses domestic Concourses B (gates B1-16) & C (gates C2-19, United Airways Express uses Concourse E (gates E1-38. 2. Concourses A through E surround the main terminal - no shuttle service is needed. 3. On arrival look at overhead screens to find your departing flight, gate number & departures time. 40 mins should suffice.

    1. Make sure you go through U.S. Customs clearance at Vancouver Airport. 2. At SEA, you will arrive at Satellite North (N gates) and depart from Satellite South (S gates) 3. As Air Canada & Lufthansa are both members of the Star alliance, your bags will be automatically transferred to your Lufthansa flight. 4. To connect between the N gates and the S gates, take the train from South or North Satellite to the Main Terminal, then cross over and take the train on the opposite side, which is the shuttle that runs at post-security between the North & South stations.
