  • How to go from Terminal 3 to 8

I flying from Orlando will land in JFK @ 9:30 and Emirates @ 11:00. How to get to Terminal 3 and will that be enough time

Terminal 3 is closed. If you are on Delta, your flight from Orlando will arrive in Terminal 4. Emirates operates from Terminal 4 as well, not Terminal 8. Were your tickets bought on one reservation - if so you can check your bags through and you will have enough time. If not I think it might be tough for you to claim your bags and re-check them with Emirates in enough time.

  • Internat Transfer AA Madrid to Toronto

We are arriving at JFK on AA with 2 hours to board a connecting flight on AA to Toronto. I understand we will have to take our hold luggage through customs. Will we also have to go through passport control and airport security again before going to our Toronto flight? How straight forward is this as we will not actually be entering the States?

You will be entering the US just like every other passenger. US Airports don't have special "transfer" wings. As such you will go through full US immigration inspection, then re-check your bags, then go upstairs to go through security for your flight to Toronto.

Thanks for that. Very helpful. See that the US still hasn't noticed that strange place called the rest of the world yet :-) Thanks again

  • 45 minutes layover doable or crazy?

Looking to book a flight on American Airlines from Dulles (IAD) to Honolulu. There is a 45 minutes layover in LAX. Would this be enough time to make the connection or not feasible with distance, etc of terminals. Any help would be appreciated!

Everything will be in the same terminal, so it's doable if your first flight is on-time.

I'm flying on Delta from Copenhagen to JFK then on to New Orleans with my 3 year old and 3 month old. I've never been through JFK and am nervous about a few things: 1. whether or not the airline will give me my stroller back at the gate and 2. can someone help me with claiming and rechecking my bags at customs? 3. how difficult is it to get from our arrival terminal to our connecting flight? Is it a bus? Train? We have a 5 hour layover so plenty of time, but I like to know what to expect. And any suggestions for kid play areas or things to do during our layover? Thanks!!

You will arrive and depart in the same terminal (Terminal 4). They will probably give you your stroller back at the gate. What kind of help do you need claiming your bags? There usually aren't baggage porters working in immigration due to the difficulty of working there.

Thanks, ZAP! I usually fly through ATL and go through customs/immigration there. I have to physically get my luggage off the belt and take it through to the area where you drop off your luggage for your connecting flight. Since I'll have a stroller, I won't be able to also pull/push a cart with 2 suitcases nor will I be able to pull them myself. In ATL they have helpers, just wondering about JFK. Thanks!

Arriving terminal 3 (UA) and leaving terminal 1 (SkyWest) 60 min later. Will have to go thru security again into term 1? Is this going to go smoothly?

You don't know for sure which terminals your flights will be using until the day before your flight. However, if you do have to change from 3 to 1, United runs a shuttle on the secure side of the airport so you won't have to go through security again. http://www.united.com/web/en-US/content/travel/airport/maps/sfo.aspx

How do we get through customs at IAD. LH418 to UA1715

Getting through customs is easy - it's the only place you'll be allowed to go. You'll be arriving in the B concourse and departing from C or D. The airport has a good description of how this works there - http://www.metwashairports.com/dulles/884.htm

flying lax to rome on Alitalia, landing Terminal 3, departing Terminal 1 for Venice one hour later. Is this enough time if flights are on schedule? do we have to go through customs/immig in rome?

I really don't think that's enough time. Yes, you will go through immigration in Rome.

  • Weighting machine

where i can find the weighting machine

What is a "weighting machine"? Do you mean a scale? Why would you want to find a scale in an airport?

To know the weight of the bag !! like in KLIA airport you can check your bags weight before going to check in.

What's KLIA? Anyway, you can use your scale at home - or you can go to the check in desk and they usually let you take things out of the bag if it's overweight.

  • Terminal 3, Concourse E to F

I have a fligth that lands at 11:35am (american airlines) on concourse E and another one that takes off at 12:55pm (jetblue) on concourse F. I have 1 carry-on bag and I guess I will need to go through security at Concourse F. Any idea on how long the connection will take me or if I will make my 12:55pm flight?

You should be able to make your connection if your first flight is on-time. It shouldn't take more than half an hour. Be sure to check-in online for your Jetblue flight before you leave on your first flight.

  • 2hrs enough time from Term B to Term 4?
    Jun 6, 2013
    1
I am debating to book an AA flight with a 2hr 20min layover during the end of August. My flight would arrive around 6:25pm from Shanghai at the Bradley Intl Terminal and I have to catch my next flight at Terminal 4 leaving at 8:45pm. Would this be enough time in August to go through customs, re-check bags, and switch terminals? Would it be faster to walk than to wait for the Airport Terminal Bus? Do I have to go through security check again when entering Terminal 4? Thanks in advance.

That will probably be enough time. Yes, it will probably be faster to walk than take the bus. Yes, any time you enter the US you have to go through security again. However, if your flight from Shanghai is on American you will not arrive at the TBIT. You will arrive in Terminal 4, same as your departing flight.

I will be arriving Rome Terminal B at 745am by SQ366 and leaving for Nice by Alitalia AZ0348 1 - Will I be able to connect in time ? 2 - Which terminal is AZ0348 departing from ?

You may be looking at the old Terminal names. Your Singapore flight will arrive in Terminal 3 and your Alitalia flight will depart from Terminal 1. You didn't tell us the time of your second flight so I don't know if you will have enough time.

  • Change of Terminal at Newark Airport.

I will be flying from Toronto to Mumbai. My flight goes from Toronto to Newark at terminal A operated by Air Canada. then i have connecting flight From Newark Terminal B to Mumbai operated by Air India. I have duration of 6 hours between two flight. My Question is does i will be require to have USA visa to change terminal from A to B to take another international flight? Does i need to go through all security check procedure at Newark just to catch another flight from different terminal??? Does my luggage will be transferred by Airlines or i have to take it with me and go through all security check?? What is the best way to travels from Terminal A to Terminal B.???

Unless your citizenship is of a country where you don't need a visa to visit the United States, you will need a transit visa. Yes, going between A and B there will be security. If your tickets were bought on one reservation then Air Canada should be able to check your bags through and transfer them for you but if not you will have to do it yourself. The only way to get between terminals A and B is the AirTrain, which runs outside security.

  • london to san jose via DFW

I land at DFW from Heathrow with BA at 2-40pm and leave for San Jose at 4-20pm with AA from different terminal.on December 9th 2013. Is this enough time for a British person to make the connection

It should be enough time, but you will probably be cutting it close. The good thing is that early December is a very light travel period in the US so you probably won't have to wait too long at immigration or security. Go back through security in Terminal D and then take the Skylink train to the gate for your departing flight to San Jose. Note that if you are going to San Jose, Costa Rica or San Jose del Cabo, Mexico it will also depart from Terminal D (you didn't mention which San Jose you are flying to - and that's a good point - make sure you go to the gate for the correct San Jose). San Jose, California could depart from A, C, or D.

You are cutting it very close, I don't want to scare you, you will probably be Ok, but I would pick a seat near the front of the plane, DFW is super slow, it takes them about 60 minutes to process a small Jet
