  • Gates in Terminal B

My flight arrives at Gate B24 and departs from Gate B85. On the Terminal map I do not see Gate B24. Am I not seeing it?

Use the new map provided by United. http://www.united.com/web/en-US/content/Travel/airport/maps/iah.aspx

US citizen flying from Barcelona to Frankfurt on a Lufthansa flight. Have 1 hour and 20 to connect to a United Airline Flight going to Los Angeles, CA. Is this enough time for that connection?

Actually, Frankfurt-LAX is a Luftansa flight as well, United does not fly that route. 80 minutes should be enough time.

  • LAS -> LAX -> MSP

My flight arrives from Las Vegas at 11:25 and I have a flight to MSP @ 1:00. Will I have enough time to make it from Terminal 4 to Terminal 5 or do I need to see if I can get an earlier flight from LAS to LAX?

What airlines are you flying? Will you have checked bags?

LAS -> LAX is American and LAX -> MSP is Delta and no on the checked bags. Everything is carry on.

Then you should have enough time if your first flight is on-time. Be sure to check in online for your Delta flight before you leave Las Vegas.

Arrive at FCO 9:25 am from Chicago in August. Will we be able to make a connection to Turkish Airlines flight at 10:55 am? That's 1 1/2 hours.

We're your tickets bought on one reservation or separate? That will be very difficult.

  • Is 2 hours enough time??

Hi, I have a quick question. I have the below listed itinerary. Since both the flights are operated by United, I guess I need not change terminals. But, would 2 hrs be enough for me and do I need to go through security gate again. Thanks for the help. UA 279 TPA IAD 156P 411P UA 976 IAD DXB 610P 335P+1

All you have to do in IAD is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. No security. You should have plenty of time.

Thanks ZAP for the quick response.

  • Tight connection at IAD with family
    Mar 27, 2014

ZAP and other IAD experts, I'm travelling with wife and 9 year old daughter from Seattle to Buffalo with a layover at IAD of 51 minutes. It's a part of one reservation with United. I guess I'll be arriving at terminal D at 9PM and taking off on a commuter plane from terminal A at 9:51 to BUF. Now I realize it may not be doable with carry on luggage and family. Can you guys suggest the best way to make this connection as it's the last flight to BUF that day. Thank you!

If your first flight is on-time 51 minutes should be plenty of time. C/D and A are connected by the mobile lounges and AeroTrain.

Thank you ZAP ! Would you know which option will be faster and easier to find. Also , so the mobile lounges operate at night between 9 and 10pm?

It depends where your flight from Seattle arrives which will be quicker. It could arrive at any gate in C or D. The lounges should still be running then.

I believe the incoming flight arrives at D and the next flight is from A1 in 51 minutes. With T-15 rule, I effectively have about 30 minutes.

  • Connection in Rome from US to Naples
    Mar 18, 2014

If I am coming in from Detroit, US and connecting to Naples, will I have to claim my bags and go through Customs/Immigration, or will I be able to check them through to Naples and go through Customs/Immigration there? Would 1hr 15min be long enough if I need to go through C/I in FCO?

You will have to go through immigration. 1:15 should be enough time but is cutting it close. Luckily if you miss your flight there are lots of Alitalia flights from Rome to Naples.

    Thanks for the quick response!

  • Help with Timining Question

Can my mother leave terminal E at 9:05 pm and board her 9:30 pm flight in terminal B?

Since you're saying it's arriving in Terminal E, does that mean it's an international flight? If so, no way. If it is one of the few domestic flights arriving in E, then it would be very difficult but possible. Either way it's not an allowable connection by United.

It is complicated. My daughter flew alone to Houston and met my mom. They flew elsewhere together. They end up back at Houston for separate flights w one leaving from terminal e at 9 and one leaving from terminal b at 9:30

OK, in that instance, she can leave Terminal E when the other one boards, so she'll have more than 25 minutes. However, it will take about 15-20 minutes to get from E to B so she should have that in mind.

  • Connecting between United Airlines and US Airways

I'm arriving at FLL Terminal 1 on United Airlines and departing on US Airways from Terminal 3 for an domestic flight to Philadelphia. Is 3 hours enough time to make the connection if we have checked baggage that we have to check out from UA and then check in again with US Airways?

Yes, that should be enough time. It's a bit of a walk but FLL isn't a huge airport.

I will be returning to the USA from Frankfurt on a Sunday Evening. How long does it take to go through the immigration? My incoming flight , Lufthansa, arrives at 3:10 PM and the connecting flight . United flight to Pittsburgh is at 4:50 PM. This is a 1: 40 gap between the arrival & the departure. Is this enough time. What are the options if I miss the flight ? Any ideas? By the way, I am a US citizen, so the imigration lines should not be too long I suppose

Yes, that should be enough time. If you miss your connection United will rebook you on their next flight to Pittsburgh.

We arrive and have 52 minutes to make connection. Traveling AirTran on both legs of the journey. Will we have enough time?

You should have enough time if your first flight is on-time. All Southwest/Airtran flights at ATL are on the same concourse.

  • Construction in terminal 5??
    Mar 17, 2014

Last summer we barely made our international flight due to long, long lines getting into terminal 5. What is the status of the fix-up there? I'm leaning toward flying through Pilly instead of ORD this summer...

Interior renovations to add more concessions continue. That's the only T5 construction I'm aware of.

We flew to Dublin in July '13 and getting through security was insane. We were funneled through what seemed to be a temporary set up to reach the initial ID check, then into a huge mess to get screened. We had a 2+ hr layover, and the AerLingus staff came searching for us in the security line.

Hi. I'm a UK citizen flying from San Francisco with Lufthansa operated by United, arriving at 15:55 in IAD. My connecting flight is at 17:15 to Frankfurt (also Lufthansa operated by United). Will this 1:20 connection time be enough?

Yes you have enough time for transfer; note, however, that United uses both C & D gates of the Midfield Concourse C/D - if you need to switch between C & D gates: use the walkway between C gates C1-30 & D gates D1-32.

  • Will I make it on time and where do I get my boarding pass?
    Mar 18, 2014

I arrive at terminal 5 of O'Hare international by Qatar airways from Kolkata via Doha. Arrival time 14.30hours.My flight to Nashville is from terminal 3 after 2 hours 25 minutes. It is a AA codeshare flight and the ticket was together from Kolkata. .I have 2 pieces of checked in baggage. Will I make it on time? What are the steps I should follow? Where will I get my boarding pass for Nashville. Please help. Also how far are the immigration counters from the alighting point?

    1. AT ORD, all domestic flights and international departures of American Airlines are in Terminal 3, which has Concourses & gates G, H, K & L (with gates G13-17 are on lower level). 2. On arrival at ORD, you need to go through passport check, retrieve checked bags, go through customs clearance, re-check-in bag; then proceed up one level to the Airport Transit System (ATS) station and take the ATS train, which runs every few minutes, to Terminal 3, where you need to go through security check before proceeding to your connecting gate. Your bags will be automatically transferred. 3. I suggest you open www.ifly.com/ord, then click on 'Terminal Map' under 'QUICK LINKS', and scroll down to the detailed text.

thanks a ton sumar14. But where will I get Nashville boarding pass and also will I be able to make it comfortably in 2 hours 25 minutes?

Since Qatar Airways and American codeshare Qatar Airways should be able to print your American boarding pass in Kolkata. However, if they can't you can get it in the lobby of T3 since you will be passing through there anyway.

    Thanks a ton again!!
