my iternany says i land at terminal s and get on another plane at treminal i. these terminals don't show up on a terminal map. where are they?

Indeed that is confusing. North & South 'Terminals' are part of the Domestic Terminal, located at either side of the Atrium. They only function as baggage claim and check-in/ticketing and have no gates. Currently Alaska & Delta use the South Terminal. (open map: http://www.atlanta-airport.com/docs/terminal/mt.pdf ). Delta uses Concourses A, C, D, E, F with corresponding gates; Alaska uses B, D, D & E gates. All Concourses - domestic & international - are connected by the underground 'Plane Train' stopping at the center of each Concourse. I suggest you open www.ifly.com/lax, then click on 'Terminal Map' under QUICK LINKS and scroll down to the detailed text.

Is there time to get from an aer lingus flight from Dublin arriving at terminal e at 5 pm to get to a domestic flight on Virgin America in terminal b. carry on luggage only

You did not state your departure time. However, presuming that you used the U.S. Customs pre-clearance at Dublin Airport, you can immediately exit Terminal E and head for Terminal B. Connected to TE, to the east, are TC & TB. There are no post-security transfers; however, you can use the walkways between terminals, but need to go through security check at TB.

I will be arriving on a domestic flight at Terminal D. I then will be going to Terminal F where I will need to check in for a flight on Korean Air. This is my first time at ATL so I am not sure what I need to do. Thanks.

If your bags are checked through and you are checked in for your Korean flight just take the Plane Train from D to F.

How much time does it take to get from the int'l terminal to the south terminal on the plane train

At ATL, part of Domestic passenger terminal are the North & South terminals on opposite sides, with only check-in & baggage claim facilities. While Concourse T is attached to the Main Terminal, separate parallel-running buildings house the Concourses A - D with corresponding gates (i.e., gate A19). As you arrive at the International Terminal, you will need to go through passport clearance, pick up your bag, go through customs clearance & (if continuing your journey) re-check-in your bags. Thereafter follow signs to the 'Plane Train' serving all concourses in the center of their gate arrangements. Also, the Terminal Connector Shuttle located outside the Arrivals level takes you to the Domestic Terminal - a 12-minute ride.

If arriving at LAX on united from Sydney and changing flights to fly on to New york do I need to go through the Security area after going through customs I fly into terminal 6 and fly out of 7 and is there a quick way off getting to terminal 7 Also if I miss my onward flight due to heldups ect does United have to put me on another flight Thanks for any ones help

On Arrival at LAX, you go through passport control, pick up your bags, go through customs clearance and then re-check-in your bags (35-50 mins); thereafter, proceed via escalator down to the tunnel connecting T6 with T7; take escalator a T7 back up and take elevator to departure level, there you need to go through security check before proceeding to your gate. Check with United as to their policy.

Thank you for all your help

  • Best-priced Bailey's was an important indicator

I often use the duty-free price of a 1 litre bottle of Bailey's as a measure of prices across the whole shop. In Amman it was $18au, by Doha it was up to $23au, and by the time we hit Perth, $30au. Thatmeans Amman was nearly half the price of some other places. Of course when outlets have a 2-for-1 special, the relative bslance changes, so you can still be lucky at relatively expensive places.

  • booking question - time btwn flights

I am connecting to an international flight out of IAH that departs at 7:50PM. I have a few choices to select from for the first flight into IAH, arrival times as follows 1:00PM, 2:00PM or 5:00PM. I would like to avoid a long layover, but want to have enough time, which arrival time would you suggest booking in order to allow enough time to claim luggage and go to customs to board my flight at 7:50PM

Unless your first flight is also international, you will not have to claim luggage or go through customs in IAH. Even if your first flight IS international, the 5 PM arrival should be fine.

  • Connection time between flight

I will arrive at IAH from Istanbul on TURKISH AIR at 6PM, my connecting flight to San Diego on UAL is at 9PM. Will this allow enough time to collect baggage and clear customs, how long does this process usually take?

Yes, that is enough time. It should take anywhere between an hour and 1.5 hours to go through immigration, recheck baggage, and go back through security.

  • Arriving T5 leaving T2

Is 2 hours enough time to clear customs and get from T5 to T2? Arrive Delta and leave Air China.

You only clear customs if you are an international arrival. If Delta will transfer your bags to Air China, all you need to do is exit T5 and take the LAX bus Route A on lower arrival level island in front of each terminal, under sign 'LAX shuttle airline connection', which runs every 12-15 mins. After T5, it stops at T6, T7, T8, around the bend to T1 & T2 - five stops or 12 mins. At T2 you need to go through security check before proceeding to your gate. If Delta does not transfer bags to Air China, you need to take your bags along and check them in at T2 with Air China. Your two hours should suffice in any case.

  • Hi, I have to get from gate B4 to F12?
    Mar 15, 2013

How long will this take me?

You arrive at Concourse B with gates B19-B36 at left, B18-B1 at right and the escalator/elevator to the Plane Train to Concourses in center; you get off the train at Concourse F (last stop), take elevator/escalator up to gates F12-14. Should not take more than 25 mins.

  • International connection 50 minutes

My route is Omaha-Detroit-Frankfurt (Germany) with Delta. I have international connection 50 minutes in Detroit in the same terminal EM. Is it enough time?

There is no Terminal EM. DTW only has the McNamara & the North Terminal. Delta uses the McNamara Terminal, which has Concourses A, B & C with corresponding gates (i.e., gates A38-78; gates B1-21; gates C1-43). All concourses are accessible from level 2 of the main terminal. Your transfer time is sufficient. For detailed information, I suggest you open www.ifly.com/dtw, then click on 'Terminal Map' under QUICK LINKS and scroll down to the text.

It's doable if your first flight is on-time. The Delta terminal in DTW has a fairly simple layout. If you miss your connection you'll probably get sent to Frankfurt on a later flight via Paris or Amsterdam.

    Thank you!

    EM stands for Ed McNamara

  • Transfer time from Terminal 2E to 2G

How do I get from terminal 2E to terminal 2G. How much transfer time do I need?

On arrival at T2E, follow signs for 'Exit - Baggage Reclaim; then go to T2F, exit 7 by the pedestrian footbridge; then take the free Aeroports de Paris shuttle N2 to T2G, which runs every 6 mins, 5:30am-11pm. Gate to gate estimate - half hour.

International flight with two infants. We have 40minutes between the flights and arriving to and from termial 8. on the map of the terminal it appears as though there're two concourses....but are they two separate buildings. We obviously dont know what gates swe are arriving to/departing from, but assuming they are in different concourses is 40min going to be enough? Thanks in advance

40 minutes is tight but OK on a domestic to international connection. I would want more time though. It's not sufficient on an international->domestic connection at JFK.
