I need to meet my brother at Terminal 7. He is flying in on Nippon so will be going through customs. Which coffee shop or restaurant is outside security where I can sit down to wait for him Terminal 7?

At JFK, Terminal 7, there is a Starbucks on the lower level Arrivals Area.

My wife be arriving at Terminal 4 and need to catch Delta flight at Terminal 3. She do have bags to re-checkin. Do delta has re-checking counter at T4? or does she need to take the baggage alongwith her to T3 and re-checkin? Do air train let the baggage carts? Trully appreciate any advice.

Your wife need to re-check-in her bags with Delta only if the first (incoming) airline does not transfer to connecting Delta flight. Also, if she is an international arrival, she will need to go through passport control, pick up her bags, go through customs clearance and (if bags are being transferred) re-check-in her bag where indicated. If her arriving airline at JFK does not transfer bags, she needs to take her bag onto the Airline Train which serves all terminals outside of security - meaning she will have to go (to Delta counter and check in her bag (if not transferred) and through security check before proceeding to her gate at Terminal 3.

Thanks a lot, appreciate your reply.

  • Transfering terminals

Looking for a little help. Flying from Newark to Kauai via Phoenix. Coming in on United and have a little over an hour layover before flying out on US Airways. Looks like I may have to transfer from Terminal 2 to Terminal 4. Will I have enough time?

Yes, you will have to go from terminal 2 to terminal 4. If you have bags checked make sure they check them through to LIH in EWR - as long as your flights are all on the same reservation they should. It's doable to make the connection in an hour but if there are any delays whatsoever it could be a problem.

Here is additional information on how to transfer terminals at Phoenix Sky Harbor: http://skyharbor.com/transportationparking/shuttledirections.html

We have a 45 minute connection from Gate C39 to Gate E08--How far apart are these 2 gates and how long will it take us to get from one to the other?

Arriving at ATL at Concourse C of the Domestic Terminal (gates C30-57 at left; C22-C1 at right - take escalator/ elevator/ to Plain Train to Concourses in center). Arrive at Internatinal Terminal, Concourse E gates E11-E1 at left; E26-37 at right, gates E14-18 at south-center - with escalator/ elevator/ Plain Train in center). Count at least on a half hour transfer.

Hi, I'm arriving to FRA Gate BSO and will connect a second flight at Z54. How do I go there? Many thaks fo a answer! /CH

Before departure to FRA inquire from your first airline if they transfer your bags to the second airline - if not, you would have to claim your bag on arrival at FRA & re-check it in with your connecting airline. Also, if you do not yet have a boarding card for your connecting flight, you can obtain one at the gate or at the Transfer Desk in the B Concourse of Terminal 1. U.S. Arrivals are being processed at Area A where they go through passport control only ; US departures use the Z gates. (Z gates are part of Pier A, but are on thee upper level. Head towards gates Z50-69). If you need to transfer inside Terminal 1 between B gates (T1B) and A or Z gates (T1A), you can use transfer tunnel outside security, or the SkyLine train inside security, which leaves every 2-3 mins. An escalator from lower level A gates connects to upper level Z gates.

  • Meeting place at terminal 3

Im am flying in from Toronto with Air Canada arriving at terminal 7 and need to meet my brother at terminal 3 (as he is flying in from LA with delta and arriving terminal 3) CAn anyone recommend where a good meeting place is in terminal 3???

At Toronto, make use of the U.S. Customs clearance, saving you time at JFK. The Airline Train makes a continuous round between all terminals, but in the unsecured area. Simply follow signs. Best place to meet: near the information counter at the arrivals / baggage claim level.

  • T4 to TBIT

I will travel from Chicago to China and will transfer at LAX.I will have checked baggage and need to transfer from T4 to TBIT with 1hr40min. Will I have enough time to transfer? And will I have to pick up my baggage and check again in TBIT? THX a lot.

    1. Ascertain if your first airline will transfer your bags to your connecting airline - if not you need, on arrival at T4, claim your bag and check it in with your connecing airline at TBIT. 2. Walking from T4, to the left to TBIT (around the bend) would take 5 mins. - faster than waiting for the bus to come around (LAX bus Route A on lower arrival level runs every 12-15 mins). At TBIT you simply proceed to your gate (unless you need to re-check-in your bag). Past TSA Screening at left are gates 106 - 101; past TSA Screening at right are gates 119 to123, with access to bus gates 136 to 146.

Have a friend travelling through terminal 3 from Ottawa to Europe with a 4 hour layover. Is there anyplace we can meet up for a drink or bite if I'm not travelling?

At YYZ, the departures level of Terminal 3 offers quite a selection of food & drink.

  • Trans from United Airlines to Island Air

I have 50 min to get from United Airlines flight coming in to Atlanta from Chicago and leaving Atlanta and going to Gainesville on Island Air 3603

    1. Make sure that United will transfer your bags to island Air flight (I doubt it) - if not, you need to claim your checked bag on arrival at ATL and check it in with Silver Airways/Island Air. United uses Concourse T of the domestic terminal, while Silver Airways (the parent of Island Air?) uses the new International terminal's Concourse E (gates E1-18). The underground Plane Train connects all Concourses, stopping at each of their center. You have sufficient time for transfer.

    Thank you very much.

I'm flying to england from YVR via toronto, pearson int'l airport... would 2 hours before flight time be enough time for me to go through security and stuff? thanks

Make sure your first airline transfers bags to your connecting airline, if using different ones - if not, claim your bag on arrival and check it in with your connecting airline. YYZ has two terminals T1 & T3. T1 has D gates D1-57 & F gates F36-82, T3 has A, B & C gates - A1-7, B7-22, C24-41. The automated Link train runs between both terminals. Your boarding pass & overhead screens on arrival will indicate flight & gate numbers. You have enough time.

In terminal 3 are there any resteraunts before security check in

At JFK, in Terminal 3, the Food Court has a few fast-food restaurants - not sure if they are in the unsecured area.

Can you get from T4 to T5 with out going thru security again. Like you can between T5 and T6.

You can walk between the terminals, but need to go through security check.

If you are traveling to London, Ontario, Canada where do you go through Customs? In London, Ontario or before you leave the US?

At ORD, departing passengers do not go through customs.

Yes, the YXU-ORD flights arrive in Terminal 5 (the international terminal) where you clear customs. YXU does not have US immigration preclearance as many larger Canadian airports do.

On flights from Chicago to YXU, you will depart from Terminal 2 (check in in Terminal 1) and go through Canadian customs in London, Ontario.

coming from chicago to seattle... seattle to juneau. normally arriving at main concourse and leaving out of N

That depends on which airlines you take & if incoming flight in on time. SEA's North Satellite of the Main Terminal serves Air Canada (incl. regional), Alaska, SkyWest, United & United Express airlines; it has gates N1 to N16.
