  • enough time to catch connecting flight?

We are arriving in December from Amsterdam (US 799, at 15.50) and have a connecting flight to San Juan (US 741, at 17.55) and are worried if we can make it in just 2h 5min through immigration, baggage claim, customs, re-checking luggage (where?), getting boarding passes (transfer desk or directly at the new gate?). Can anyone tell which waiting times we wiill have to expect and if we have to be concerened abobut getting our connecting flight?

Two hours transfer time should suffice - unless you travel during Christmas time. Normal customs clearance/baggage claim re-check should not be more than 50 mins. You need not do anything else thereafter, but proceed to your connecting gate (watch the overhead screens), as you use the same Airline for both legs of your journey and you bags will be transferred.

so we ARE travelling during Christmas time (Dec 25 or Dec 26) :-( - how long do you think it might take in the worst case and will we get our flight even though?

I'm arriving on United, connecting to an American flight. Is 1.5 hours sufficient time to make my connection?

On arrival at DEN, international arrivals go through FIS & US Customs at the north end of the Main Terminal at Level 5, where they need to retrieve their checked bags, go through customs clearance and - if connecting to another flight, take the AGTS underground train to their departure gate area. Make sure United transfers bag to American flight - if not you need to re-check-in bags with American. If you are a domestic arrival use the nderground AGTS running continuously between the Concourses, with gates on either side (starting past the two central security screening areas and taking 5 minutes for each stop). Either way, you have enough time.

I'm returning to ORD from Paris and have a domestic connection on the same airline (AA). Will I need to clear security again to make the domestic flight? This impacts what I may buy duty-free before leaving Paris.

On arrival at ORD (Terminal 5)you you need to go through passport check, retrieve checked bags, go through customs clearance and - if transferring to another flight - re-check-in bag; then proceed up one level to the Airport Transit System (ATS) station and take the train to your connecting Terminal 3, which has Concourse G (gates G1A-G21 and on the lower level gates G13-G15); Concourse H (gates H1-H18; Concourse K (gates K1-K17); and Concourse L (gates L1-L10). You will need to fill out a customs declaration form. Concourse H has gates H1-H18, with a Rebooking Center near gate H7. Between Concourses H & K is the Admirals Club. Concourse K with gates K1-K17 has a Rebooking Center at gate K10A and the Flagship Lounge near K16. Concourse L has gates L1-L10 but no airline lounges. (for Virgin America, Spirit, JetBlue, Air Choice One and American airlines) . 2.Passengers transferring from O'Hare's International Terminal to any of the Domestic Terminals: After exiting the Federal Inspection and luggage re-check areas, proceed up one level to the Airport Transit System where you can easily connect to either terminals 1, 2 or 3 for domestic flights. A free shuttle train running every few minutes can take you there. 3. The ATS shuttle train runs every few minutes between Terminal 5's ATS level the and domestic terminals 1, 2 & 3.

  • Transfer from 2c to 2f

Im arriving with a mutli entry schengen visa issued by french embassy to CDG at 0940am. I want to travel to amsterdam for 2 days the same day when i arrive cdg, before returning to my commitments in france. On arrival at 2c, do I need to go through immigrations and customs? and if so how long does it take to clear these and make my way to 2f where my flight will leave at 1140am. Any important instructions are welcome! Thanks for your help !

At CDG, on arrival you will not have to go through non-Schengen passport control. Note that the common area (pre-security) links Terminals 2C, 2D & 2F. You have enough time to walk over to 2F.

Thanks for the reply. So, when I arrive in 2c at CDG I should not go thru customs, just instead board the flight from 2f, travel to amsterdam, go through immigration there and return to CDG paris 2 days later and for the 1st time go through immigration to enter france. Passport control and immigration is the same thing right ? Thanks for your reply.

Flying in on PINNACLE DBA DELTA CONNECTION and connecting to EXPRESSJET DBA DELTA CONNECTION. Not sure if these are in the same gate/terminal, etc. Wondering if I will have enough time (pending plane is on time). Please help fast before I book. Thank you tons.

Delta uses the McNamara terminals at DTW Airport. Its Concourses/gates are laid out as follow: Concourse A, reached from level 2, has 1.5 miles of moving walkways . Additionally, the Express Tram stops at the South station near gate A11, the Terminal station in the center near the water feature, and the North station near gate A67. Concourse A has to the left gates A38-A1; to the right gates A40-78, and at its center the tunnel connecting to Concourse B to the left and Concourse C to the right. Concourse B at right has gates B1-21on opposite sides. Concourse C at left has C1 through C43 on opposite sides. An elevator between Concourses B & C leads to the Lower Level gates C1 to C7. (There is no Pinnacle or ExpressJet listing at DTW site)).

Are there any restaurants in the pre-security areas in Terminal 1,2 or 3 and if you had to walk between terminals, can you?

I'm not aware of any pre-security restaurants. You can walk between terminals 1 to 3 along the curbside roadway on either the arrivals or departure level as well as past security through terminal connectors.

Traveling from American Eagle to Delta with an hour connection. Whats the best way?

At DFW, you arrive at Terminal B and depart from Terminal E. The free Skylink train runs inside the post-security area of each of the five terminals, starting at the International Terminal D at gates D2, D20, D25 & D34, and connecting to the other terminals by two Skylink stations each (close to the left and right end). It runs every 2 mins and takes about 5 minutes of transfer time on average. Terminal B station is between gates B9-12 & B28-31; Terminal E station is between gates E8-11 & E31-32.

We are flying nationally from Las Vegas to DTW on Delta in October 2012..we Have a 44 min layover to make our flight to Quebec..Is this enough time? Might be Delta Connections or Pinnacle not sure since Delta has not given information on connecting flight yet. Is this enough Time to make flight to Quebec and find the right terminal etc? Thank You

at DTW Airport Delta uses the McNamara terminal. On arrival look at overhead screen to find your Quebec connection (flight number & gate): Councourses & Gates: Concourse A, reached from level 2, has 1.5 miles of moving walkways . Additionally, the Express Tram stops at the South station near gate A11, the Terminal station in the center near the water feature, and the North station near gate A67. Arriving on Delta Flt 57 from London connecting with Delta Flt 5149 to DC. Whish Terminal & Gates do I arrive and depart from? How do I get from one to the other?

    1. All international arrivals need to go through passport control, pick up luggage & go through customs clearance, then re-check-in bags for connecting flight. I cannot give you the gate number you arrive at /depart from; however, you will arrive at the McNamara Terminal at either Concourses A, B or C, which have corresponding gates. 2. Concourse A, reached from level 2, has 1.5 miles of moving walkways . What is Terminal EM. Cannot find it on the terminal map

DTW Airport has a North Terminal and the McNamara Terminal. I suggest you open www.ifly.com/dtw and click on 'Terminal Map' under QUICK LINKS, then scroll down to the detailed text.
