I am arriving on Hawaiian at 7:00am with a 2hr. layover and departing on Southwest 9:00 with luggage. Is that sufficient time and how do I go from terminals?

You arrive at Terminal 1's Satellite Concourse D (D gates) and depart from Concourse C (C gates); On arrival you need to take the D gate tram to main Terminal 1 and take the separate C-gate tram to your connecting C gates. You have enough time.

Check in for your Southwest flight online before you leave Hawaii.

MAHALO, So my luggage claim would be at terminal 1?

No, if you have checked luggage you will have to transfer it yourself. The baggage claim is in T3. You will then have to take a shuttle bus to T1, then check your bags with Southwest, then go back through security and to your gate in C. You will barely have enough time to do this if your first flight is on-time. You may want to try to get a later flight on Southwest.

    Mahalo for the info.

  • 1 hr connection time flying from Arizona then to Dublin

Will 1 hour be enough time to make a connection-I am flying from Arizona with 1 hr. in Chicago then on to Dublin same airlines the entire way

    What airlines are you flying?

    American

Yes, that should be enough time. Both flights will be in Terminal 3 and all you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

  • customs Newark to SFo

Hi I have 2h 10m lay over from Newark to SFO coming from Madrid. Is this enough time to go through customs if the plane is usually delayed by 30 min?

Yes, that should still be enough time. Also, United has many flights from Newark to San Francisco that they could rebook you on if for some reason you do miss your connection.

  • Would 69 mins be possible for transfer?

I'm going with UA on my IND-IAD-GRU flight and the transfer time is 69 mins. Is that enough?

Yes, that should be plenty of time. If you arrive in Concourse A it is connected to the C/D concourse via the aerotrain and mobile lounge inside security.

Hey I am flying from Amsterdam to seattle, and want to fly futher to pasco, wa with Alaska Airlines. How much time do i need to transfer?

If you are purchasing tickets separately I would try to leave 2.5 hours, but if you are purchasing them together than 90 minutes is probably enough time.

I have 60 min to connect from Terminal 1 gate C16A (coming from Boston) to Milan leaving from Terminal 1 gate A24. Is this enough time and what is the fastest way to get there? Thanks.

c16a is terminal 2, you will need to use the skytrain

They are both Lufthansa flights so I assumed gate C16 is Terminal 1?

  • IAD > MIA > NASSAU - 35 minute connection in Miami to Nassau...??
    May 8, 2014

I will be boarding an American Airlines flight from Washington Dulles airport, arriving into Miami at 4:50. My connection to Nassau leaves at 5:35 on American Eagle. Is this enough time? I know they start boarding 30 minutes before take off, so by the time we deplane they will have already started boarding. I'm afraid that if we have to change terminals we won't make it, let alone a slight delay in our flight.

At MIA, Both airlines serve at the North Terminal which has a one-mile-long Concourse D, served by the Skytrain at 4 stations: near gate D17, D20-25, D26-39 & E1-35 and D40-60 - taking minutes. Just follow signs.

  • LAX to RDU transit at IAD in 47 minutes, Can I make it?
    May 7, 2014

I have only 47 mins to transfer United (Lax - IAE) to United express (IAD-RDU). It seems like I need to take either train or bus. Can I make it in 47 mins?

You will arrive in the C/D concourse. Many United Express flights also use the C/D Concourse but some also use the A concourse. Even if you have to transfer to A via the mobile lounge or Aerotrain, you should have enough time if your first flight is on-time.

I am flying from St. Louis to O'Hare then on to Brussels on United. I only have 45 minutes between flights. I don't know if the STL_ORD flight lands in terminal 1 or 2. The ORD-BRU flight leave sfrom terminal 1. If I change terminals, will I have to go through airport security again?

No, if you arrive in Terminal 2 you can walk to Terminal 1 inside security via a walkway. If your first flight is on-time you should have enough time but hurry!

    Thanks for the info.

Did you make it? I have a similar situation

I don't fly until next week. I'll let you know

  • US Airways Connections at PHL
    May 7, 2014

Can anyone help. We have a group of 10 flying with some nervous fliers and young children. With some reports of long cues and slow customs at PHL there is some concern. We will be arriving from Manchester, England on US Airways with 2 hour turnaround before a US Airways flight to Orlando. Any ideas of which terminals these flights will be using and whether we will have to go through customs at PHL, do we need to collect baggage and will we have to go through security before the connecting flight? Any insider tips that might help? Thanks for the information.

You will arrive in Terminal A and depart from A or B/C, which is all connected. Yes, upon arrival in Philadelphia you will go through US Immigration, collect your baggage, go through US customs, then re-check your baggage with US Airways, then you will go up to the departure level and go through security and to your departure gate. You should have enough time as long as your first flight is on-time.

  • Enough time for interconnecting flight to Orlando?
    May 7, 2014
    1
Hi! We are a family of 4 travelling from London Heathrow via American Airlines to Miami on 22nd May. We have 2 hours and 10 minutes (if the flight is on time) to get our interconnecting flight to Orlando (also American Airlines). Is this enough time as I have heard many horror stories about immigration and baggage queues, etc. at Miami. I was wondering whether we should try and switch to the later Orlando flight which would give us 4 and a half hours in between flights. Also, are there any suggestions to speed things up? We booked the flights all at the same time if this makes any difference. Many thanks.

Yes, that should be enough time. Immigration at MIA is much improved over the past.

I have an inbound flight with Delta from beijing to spokane wa via Seattle. Is 1 hr 30 mins layover going to be enough time to make my connecting flight?

Yes, that should be enough time. You will clear immigration in the S satellite. However, as Delta does not fly from Seattle to Spokane, your flight to Spokane is likely operated by Alaska Airlines. As such after clearing immigration you will have to take an underground train to your departure concourse.

  • Possible to meet family members between transfers

I am flying from Dubai to Toronto wth a transfer in JFK. I will have to transfer from Terminal 4 to Terminal 7 to board the flight to Toronto. I have family in NYC, if they come to the airport, will I be able to hang out with them between transferring terminals?

Yes, you could meet them outside security in Terminal 4 and they could ride the AirTrain with you to Terminal 7.

    Thank you!

  • Terminal A to C - one hour connecting time
    May 8, 2014

Planning to fly Southwest from OAK to DEN on Friday morning arriving at 9:25am, one hour layover to AirTran to Cancun departing at 10:25am. I believe I have to get from terminal A to C. Is one hour cutting too close?

*will not have checked luggage Thank you!!

You will arrive in concourse C and likely depart from A (although you may also depart from C). All concourses are connected inside security by an underground train. If your first flight is on-time you should have plenty of time.

Great! Thank you for the information!

  • Can I Make It???

I arrive in houston at 11:51pm from Newark in Terminal C. Will i make my connecting flight at Terminal D at 1:00am?

tight connection .. take the "terminal-link" train (above ground, within security) to go from "C" to "D". Do not take the underground train - slow & outside security.

Could I run to terminal D?

Yes, you could run as well, but you should have plenty of time if you purchased your flights together and United is able to check your bags through to your second flight in Newark.

I'm flying from Richmond to Newark on United, then Newark to Houston on United, then Houston to Beijing on Air China.

Yes, in that case United should check your bags through to Beijing in Richmond and you won't have to do anything with them in Newark or Houston.
