  • 1 hour and 15 minute layover
    Feb 6, 2014
Will I be able to catch an international connection. Delta flight Boston to JFK arrives at 7:55 terminal 2. Delta flight JFK to TLV departs at 9:15. Should I call Delta and request an earlier flight?

I probably would. That connection is doable and legal under Delta's guidelines, but doesn't leave much room for any delays. However, the only earlier Delta flight BOS-JFK is 2 hours earlier. Since your current connection is legal, Delta may want a large change fee ($200 probably) to change to the earlier flight right now. In that case you can wait until the day of travel and then the fee to move to the earlier flight if space is available is only $50. You can also standby for the earlier flight on the day of departure for $50.

Called Delta last night and they changed it for free. Probably because of all the bad weather yesterday. Thanks for the input.

United flight from LAX lands at ORD at 1700 terminal 1 we then depart on Aer Lingus at 915 terminal 5. Purchased as one ticket. Will 2.25 hrs be enough? What would happen if we miss the Aer Lingus flight?

Yes, that should be enough time. Your connection shouldn't take more than maybe an hour. If you miss your connection you'll probably be put on the Aer Lingus flight the next day. However United may be able to rebook you on their late flight to London and then on to Dublin.

  • Enough Connection Time?
    Feb 6, 2014
Arriving at MSP via Delta @ 1:45 pm. Connecting Delta flight departs MSP @ 2.15 pm. Is that enough time to get from one plane to the other?

If the first flight is on-time and you hurry, yes, it's probably enough time.

  • Enough layover time?
    Feb 5, 2014
Connecting in CVG. Arriving Delta at 8:54 am; Connecting Delta flight departs 9:30 am. Delta set the schedule, but I'm worried about missing the connecting flight, which is one of three for the trip. Is there too little time to make the connecting flight?

You will need to be quick but should have enough time. Answer is dependent on on-time schedules.

  • JFK to MiA with Aa then MIA to NAS with bahamasair
    Feb 5, 2014
Do I have enough time to check in with bahamasair? Arrive in MIA with AA at 6:45pm and flying to Nassau with Bahamasair at 8:40 pm on valentine's day,I know the terminals are different, I will have only carry on baggage.

The Bahamasair website says that you have to check in 2 hours before the flight, however they then say they accept baggage up to 1 hour before the flight, so chances are you'll be OK if you're there 90 minutes before the flight and just say your inbound flight was delayed.

  • can i make this??
    Feb 3, 2014
arriving on United flight, terminal b with 30 min to departure in terminal c, united flight to Calgary. can i make it?

Yes, it's possible, but doesn't leave any time for delays. The TerminaLink train connects all terminals inside security.

  • Landing In Rome @ 4:30 Via Munich. Then catching Alitalia to Verona
    Feb 4, 2014
Can someone help me w/ process after I land in Rome? Do I have to go through customs? Is 1hr20min enough time to clear customs, and recheck my bag? Im flying in Lufthansa and connecting to Alitalia I believe they're the same terminal?

If you're coming from Munich then you don't have to go through any immigration or customs since both Germany and Italy are in Schengen. However Lufthansa and Alitalia are not in the same terminal. You will arrive in the Schengen side of Terminal 3, then have to claim your bag and take it to Terminal 1 to check it with Alitalia if you did not purchase your tickets on one reservation. If you did purchase your tickets on one reservation and can get your bags checked through to Verona, then you just have to walk from T3 to T1, get your Alitalia boarding pass, and go through security.

Thank You for your response! No, I have to buy the tickets on 2 reservations unfortunately. Im hoping if I don't have to go through any customs in Rome I'll have enough time to re-check my bag then.

  • LHR to IAH to MCO
    Feb 3, 2014
Am arriving via BA from LHR at 1430. Connecting on United Airlines to MCO at 15.40. I have 2 kids, 11 and 8. Will I have enough time?? Any help appreciated.

That will be a very difficult connection. Did you buy both tickets on one reservation? You will arrive in Terminal D, have to clear immigration, claim your baggage, go through US customs, and re-check your baggage, then get your United boarding passes, go through security and to Terminal C for departure. That is very hard to do in only 70 minutes.

  • Connection time at Frankfurt Airport
    Feb 3, 2014
US citizen flying from Prague to Frankfurt on a Lufthansa flight. Have 1 hour and 35 minutes to connect to a United Flight going to Washington, DC. Is this enough time for that connection?

Yes, that should be enough time. Since the Czech Republic and Germany are both in the Schengen area you will only have to go through security at your gate (no immigration or customs) in Frankfurt.

  • JAX-JFK-PVG-MNL on Delta & China Eastern
    Feb 3, 2014
Hello. I am currently looking at an itinerary that has these legs: JAX-JFK-PVG-MNL, and the airlines involved are Delta & China Eastern. The layover in JFK is 8 hours. This itinerary is on one ticket. Do we have to collect our checked luggages in JFK to re-check them for the international leg of the flight? The reason I ask is that I was told that since the layover is greater than 6 hours, we would have to collect our checked luggages. I know Delta and China Eastern are both part of the SkyTeam. Just unsure about the 8 hour layover. Thanks!

Where did you hear that. Delta should be able to check your bags through to MNL in JAX.

I got this information from my travel agent. I also called Delta. One person said yes and another said no. :/

  • Going from one terminal to other
    Feb 2, 2014
I am flying from RDU to JFK THEN going India in Emirates.have 1hr. 30 min.flying on Jet Blue then Emirates. Do I have enough time at JFK

Were your tickets bought together? JetBlue and Emirates do have an interline agreement so your bags should be able to be checked through to India in RDU. You should have enough time in JFK if your first flight is on-time but you will have to hurry. You will have to take the AirTrain/Air Terminals Train from Terminal 5 where you arrive to Terminal 4 where your Emirates flight will depart.

While Jet Blue arrives at Terminal 5, Emirates could depart from either Terminals 4 or 5. If you need to transfer, you need to take the 'Airline Terminals Train' which arrives at the pre-security area, meaning you need to go through security before proceeding to your connecting gate. You have enough time.

sufeb is incorrect. No Emirates flights depart from Terminal 5. The only airlines that use Terminal 5 are JetBlue, Hawaiian, and Aer Lingus.

  • Connection possible?
    Feb 2, 2014
UA 4438 from Hobbs, NM is scheduled to arrive in B @ 9:25am. Connecting flight UA201 to Honolulu is scheduled to depart @ 10am in E. My husband can't run. Will we be able to make the connection?

Does not look good - At IAH the above-ground TerminaLink train inside security starts at Terminal A station & connects terminals A, B, C, D/E (a 30 mins transfer); from there you would need another few minutes. (At TE, gates to the left are E1- E11, to the right gates E12- E24.)

30 minutes is a bit long. 20 is more reasonable. Your flight from Hobbs could also get in early. If you miss your connection United will re-book you to Hawaii through Los Angeles, Denver, or San Francisco.

  • Pit to Lim
    Feb 1, 2014
Flying PIT to LIM connecting in Houston, is an hour and 50 minutes enough to connect? Do we have to go through customs in Houston?

No, you do not have to go through customs in Houston, only in Lima, on your way to Lima (on the return trip you will go through US Immigration in Houston). You should have plenty of time. You will arrive in Terminal B or C and depart from Terminal E. All Terminals are connected inside security by the TerminaLink train.

what about returning through Newark 1hour and 43 minutes to connect and go through customs?

That's a bit tighter, but it's doable. You will go through immigration and customs in Terminal C at EWR, then re-check your bags with United. Then you will have to see if your departing flight to Pittsburgh is leaving from Terminal C or A. If it leaves from C you can just go up to the departure level and through security and to your gate, but if it leaves from A you will have to take the AirTrain to Terminal A first.

  • Connection from International to Domestic
    Feb 1, 2014
I know these questions have been asked before but any help would be appreciated. I'm planning on flying to Baltimore in May from France with Delta. It will fly into DTW with a 1h 41min connection time. Will this be enough time for me to clear immigration (I'm British), collect baggage and re-check the bags for my flight to BWI? I can not miss the flight to BWI as I have a bus connection that I must get.

Yes, that should be enough time. All Delta flights at DTW are in the same terminal.

Great, thank you. I will book those flights
