  • Minimum connection btw bahams and domestic
    Feb 9, 2014
Hi all, we have to reserve our flight for the next summer vacations and we have a flight from Bahamas to Tampa with an 1 hour 35 min stop in atlanta. Is this enough? Thank you!

Yes, that should be enough time. If you are coming from Freeport or Nassau you will actually pre-clear US Immigration and customs there vs. in Atlanta. All concourses in Atlanta are connected inside security by the Plane Train.

I'm arriving from Dubai on Emirates Airlines, must clear customs, then board a US airways domestic flight. Does US Airways re-check baggage in the customs area for continuing travel, or must I go to the ticket counter in the main terminal?

Were your tickets bought on one reservation or separate. If they were on the same reservation Emirates should be able to check your bags through to US Airways and then you can drop at the re-check desk, Otherwise it's not too difficult to just take your baggage up to the departure level and the US Airways ticket counter.

  • Flight information on a connection
    Feb 8, 2014
Hi, how can I know where my arrival flight and departure flight are listed (terminal and concourse) because I have 45 minutes between each? Have my flights with Delta there are my flight numbers DL1747 DL1072 ! Thanks

Delta uses numerous concourses at ATL. All are connected inside security by the Plane Train. If your first flight is on-time 45 minutes should be enough time.

  • PHX to YUM - 28 min layover
    Feb 8, 2014
Anyone done this one recently? Arrive in PHX 07:52, leave for YUM 08:20. Will I have to run b/w flights to make it?

Is your arriving flight also on US Airways? If so you can make it but you'll have to run. If not you have no chance.

  • Connection and immigration
    Feb 9, 2014
we are flying from BFS-EWR-MCO. We have a 4 hour connection in EWR both flights with United. Do we have to collect our luggage and check it in again? Do we go through immigration in EWR or MCO? Will we have to change terminals? I have never flown into EWR. Thanks

On the way to Orlando, in Newark, you will arrive in Terminal B or C, go through US Immigration, claim your baggage, and go through US Customs then re-check your bags. Your flight to Orlando will depart from C. If you arrive in B you should take the AirTrain to C then go through security and to your gate. If you arrive in C then you can just go up to the departure level, through security and to your gate. On your return trip, you will not have to do any immigration until you get back to Belfast and both flights should be in Terminal C in EWR. 4 Hours should be plenty of time for both connections.

Thank you for a great response, eases my worries as we have 3 young kids with us.

  • Dallas Passport Check
    Feb 8, 2014
Requesting information. 2/10/15 fly on American at 8ish from Puebla, Mexico to Dallas, Tx. After landing at Dallas, what is the route inside Dallas airport to passport check and customs that I need to take? From Dallas, I will be flying to Columbia, South Carolina. Any help and information is greatly appreciated.

    Date correction. Flight is 2/10/14

You will arrive in Terminal D, go through US Immigration, claim your checked baggage (if you have any), go through US Customs, then re-check your bags with American. Then you will go up to the departures level and go through security and then take the SkyLink train to your departure gate which will likely be in Terminal B.

Thank you very much, sir :-)

going from a United flight to local skywest flight is it in the same terminal

United Express flights operated by SkyWest use both Terminal 3 and Terminal 1. United runs a shuttle bus inside security between them.

  • United Airlines Flight 4130
    Feb 7, 2014
Please advice if there are people that can help my wife on United Airlines Flight 4130 , she is carrying several pieces of luggage and a 2 YO boy, seems a little too much for a single 5' 2 woman to carry, she landed at terminal D and will need to get to terminal B or so I read on her Columbus, OH bound flight... is it complicated to move between terminals?? Please advice

Were her tickets bought on a single reservation? If so after customs she should be able to re-check her bags and therefore not have to take them with her to her departure Terminal. Also, even if she does have to go to the United ticket counter to check her bags, she can do that in Terminal E, which is connected to D, rather than having to take them all the way to B. She can then go through security in E and take the TerminaLink train to B.

I bought the tickets for her , she flew in from GDL MX and landed, I have been in and out many times from IAH but can not remember if there is a shuttle , which you just confirmed there is. I guess after clearing customs she will need to go get her luggage and turn it in to the airline as you mentioned, I am just wondering if there are airline (United) people that can help with the luggage, and if the E to B will not take long.

Yeah, if it's all on united she can just re-check her bags after she clears customs, she won't have to take everything to B with her. There are carts in Immigration that she can use in between claiming her baggage and re-checking it with United.

  • Do I need to clear US Customs
    Feb 6, 2014
Hi, arriving from SYD on United at Terminal 6 and connecting to YVR at terminal 2. Do I need to clear US custom, recheck my bags and rescreen security at LAX? i.e. I cannot buy any liquid duty free items at SYD? Thanks

Yes, you will have to do all that stuff. If you buy any liquid duty free items you can put them in your checked baggage before you re-check it. Also, you will arrive in Terminal 7, not 6, but the difference there is negligible.

Do you think 2.5 hrs be enough for the transfer? thanks

Yes, you should have plenty of time.

Thanks so much for your help ZAP. Greatly appreciated. Not sure why there is no inside transfer :-(

LAX wasn't designed to be an international connecting hub. Luckily the weather in LA is usually nice, so you might enjoy the fresh air after the long flight from Australia.

  • On flight 667
    Feb 6, 2014
Will flight 667 make it on time to catch flight 570 to san francisco

Today? Probably. there will still be almost an hour between flights and they're both in Terminal C.

  • Belize to Montreal
    Feb 6, 2014
Hi, im flying from belize to montreal and im wondering if 1.5 hours is enough for my connection in IAH. Also if someone could talk me through the steps ill have to take that would be great! My flights are with united airlines.

You will arrive in Terminal E, go through US Immigration, claim your baggage, then go through US Customs. Then re-check your bags with United at the re-check desk, then go up to the departure level and go through security and to your departure gate, which will be in Terminal C which is connected to Terminal E.

Also, 90 minutes should be enough time if your first flight is on-time.

  • USAir Flight operated by American Eagle - will my gate be in Terminal
    Feb 6, 2014
Hi! I am booked on US Airways flight # 3007 Operated by CHAUTAUQUA AS AMERICAN CONNECTION and my connecting flight with an hour layover is US Airways 4480 Operated by AMERICAN EAGLE AIRLINES. Will I be in Terminal 3 with American or Terminal 2 with USAir? My return trip has the same connection, but I only have 35 minute layover. Will I switch Terminals or are these flights considered American Airlines? A bit confused. Thanks!

Both flights will be in Terminal 3 - they're both American flights. You should have enough time if the first flights are on-time, but it's still a tight connection.

  • Tram from D-gates to T1
    Feb 6, 2014
How long does the D-gate to T1 tram ride take?

The tram ride itself is like 1 minute. Walking from the D-gates to the tram takes maybe 3-5 minutes.

  • Close Delta connection end of C to end of A
    Feb 6, 2014
Traveling in May SYR via DTW. Arrival 11:25ish with a connecting flight at 12. Looks like arriving at the far end of C and takeoff far end of A. Hard to tell from past data if the flight runs ontime since winter weather has a huge influence but this won't be a factor for my flight. History for ontime November 2013-Jan 2014 is 65% and I see today flights are ":ontime" at 10 min late. This was a rebook by Delta when our original flight was eliminated and they insist 30 minutes is enough time. Any expert opinions here? Will this be enough time?

30 minutes is enough time if you hurry and it's on-time. Those gates take maybe 15 minutes to get between. Where you you traveling onwards to from DTW?

Heading onward to Las Vegas. Wondering If I should press Delta to reroute me via a different airport since they made the change Last thing I want is is a late arrival and a longer layover than they changed me from

You could try calling since you did have a schedule change. Your other options would be to connect in Atlanta or Minneapolis though, which are more out of the way. 35 minutes in DTW is a legal and doable connection and if you miss your connection there would be later flights to get you to Las Vegas.

  • SA - DL international to domestic connection
    Feb 6, 2014
SA203 from JNB arrives at Terminal 4 and I want the DL flight to LAX that departs at 9:30. It departs from Terminal 4. That gives me 2 hours 50 minutes, but my travel agent tells me I need 3 hours 30 minutes. Why is it so long? Other connections are good with 2 hours. Thanks!

2 hours 50 minutes should be fine, especially as everything is in the same terminal. Also, since you will be arriving in the morning, if for some reason you do miss your connection, Delta has many later flights to LAX you could be rebooked on.
