  • Connecting flight time info

I'm unfamiliar with the IAD airport......I arrive at gate D8 at 2:18pm and need to make my way to gate A1C for a connecting flight to ORF at 3:01pm. It is my understanding that to get from the "D" gate to the "A" gate that I need to take a shuttle bus (since the Aerotrain does not run to the D gate). Question is, how often does the shuttle bus run back and forth between the "D" and "A" gates and more importantly, will have I have enough to get from D8 to A1C gate, with ONLY 40 minutes or so to spare? Thanks

You should be able to make it within that time period: At IAD, you arrive at gate area D2-8, ; which is on the opposite side of the Shuttle bus stop; walk north, and after Starbucks (to the right, and past gates D9-11) make a right turn to the shuttle bus stop - follow signs. As to departure times they 'vary' according to the IAD map (probably according to incoming flights). The bus will arrive at gate A6, but I don't see a gate A1C on the map - must be simply A1 - close to A6.

  • Lufthansa to United

LH arrives at 1350 how long will it take to clear customs and board a UA flight to DEN? My husband is an older man with a heart condition can we arrange for a little trolley to pick him up and shuttle him down to UA? If so how do we do that? Thank you

    1. You should give LH notice 2 days before departure that you will need a wheelchair upon your arrival at IAH - if it is too late to do so, alert your flight attendant to make such arrangement. 2. Lufthansa arrives at Terminal D; you will be directed to the International Arrivals terminal, where you will go through customs & take the escalator down to Baggage Claim Level 1. From there you go through Exit Control and enter to the right the baggage recheck area (make sure that LH transfers your bags to UA connection - otherwise you need to take your bags to the connecting terminal and check them in at the UA counter) and straight out arrive at the International Arrivals Lobby, which has an escalator down to the Inter-Terminal Train to Terminals A, B & C. 3. United uses Terminals A, B C & E (where you need to go through security check before continuing on to your gate.) Your ticket and the overhead screens on arrival at IAH will indicate your gate number & departure time. You should count on gate-to-gate on a 1.5 hour transfer.

I arrive in terminal 3 at gate B25 and connect to gate C38, how many minutes to walk from one to the other? I only have a 30 min connection time.

YYZ has only one terminal with A, B, C & D gates. You arrive at the Center Concourse (gates B20-25 to the left, & gates C29-26 & 25A to the right of it). The current YYZ map does not show a gate C38 (D gates are D31-34 & D40-50). They may have added gate C38 but did not change their map yet. On arrival at YYZ you need to look at the overhead screens to find your connecting flight & departure time.

i am coming in on southwest and flying out on delta. is there going to be complications collecting luggage and getting checked in on delta how much ground will i hav to cover

At SLC you arrive via Southwest at Terminal 1, Concourse B (B gates). Your first order of business should be to find out if Southwest will transfer your bag to the Delta connecting flight - if not, you need to take your bag to the connecting terminal and check it in with Delta. Dta uss B, C, D & E gates (T1 has A&B gates, T2 has C gates for Delta only, and the International Terminal has D & E gates). Your ticket and the overhead screen on arrival will indicate gate number & time). The terminals are connected to each other and concourses and gates are easily reached from level 2. International arrivals: Unless you have gone through US customs clearance at participating airports in Canada and the Caribbean, you need to go through passport check, retrieve checked bags, go through customs clearance and - if transferring to another flight - re-check-in bag (the tag should indicate layover and final destination Airport Codes).

our fights are China Southern Airlines and All Nippon Airways, we will arrived at Tom Bradley International Terminal , next,we will take US Airways ,could you tell me how do we go terminal 1?

If you arrive at LAX via All Nippon Airways, you need to inquire from that airlines if they would transfer your bags to your US Airways departure terminal - not all airlines do, in which case you would have to claim your bags and take them along to your connecting Terminal 1, where you need to check them in at the US Airways counter. 2. As an international arrival in the U.S. you need to go through passport check, retrieve checked bags, go through customs clearance and - if transferring to another flight - re-check-in bag (the tag should indicate layover and final destination Airport Codes). 3. Whether your bags are being transferred, or you need to take them along to T1, you need to exit TBIT (Bradley Terminal), and Board the blue-marked LAX bus route A on lower arrivals level island in front of TBIT, under sign "LAX Shuttle Airline Connection", which runs every 12-15 mins - your next stops will be T4 through T8, then around a curve & over to T1 - 9 stops or about 25 mins. (you can also take a taxi) - At T1 you need to go through security check before proceeding to your gate. (Make sure on arrival at Bradley to look at overhead screens for your departure gate and time).

where's gate C28x? Same place as gate C28?

C gates are in the Midfield Concourse C/D building, which can be reached from the Main Terminal building by the above-ground TerminaLink train inside security - C gates are numbered 1-30.

CLT has Terminals A through E with corresponding gates, served in the center of their gateways by its Skylink train - at TE between E8-E11 & E31-32; at TB between B9-B1 & B28-31. Skylink runs every 2 mins, taking 5 mins on average. Hurry!

thanks much for the information suaug12

  • Where is Gate FD2

Can you tell me where gate FD2 is?

There is no gate FD2 - most likely they told you FT2 - which would mean Terminal 2, Concourse and gates F - which are used by Air Canada, Delta, United, US Airways. The F gates are F1 - F14, with gates F11A, B & C on the lower level of Concourse F.

I am flying from RDU - IAD - DOHA - AMD route on October 16th. My travel agent end up making 2 separate tickets for RDU-IAD with united (reaching IAD around 7:00pm) and IAD-DOHA-AMD with Qatar at 11pm Flight. 7:00pm to 10pm is enough time to go to baggage claim pick up 4 bags and re check baggages with Qatar. Upon return i know there are 2 lines at immigration (Washington) for connecting passengers and final destination, since i have 2 separate tickets. I am wondering where do i have to stand? Connecting passenger line for immigration right?

    1. With four bags, I think it would be worth your while to check with a shipping agent like FedEx, DHL, etc. how much they would charge getting your bags directly to Ahmedabad - reason: You definitely will be charged by United for 2 bags, and more for the extra 2 bags. Qatar will do the same (unless you have preferred status) and may charge you extra for the second leg of their trip from Doha to AMD. 2. Arriving at IAD: United uses Concourse A with A gates A1-32; A1-A6 are for United Express. The AeroTrain now connects from the main terminal separately to the A gates A1 to A6 (if you would need to claim your bags and re-check them in). If not, near gate A6 is the shuttle bus to the D gates. No immigration procedures are necessary - this is only for international U.S. arrivals). Your time is sufficient.

Me , Wife and Baby are flying.. we are in business class. United will charge me $125 and $135 for 1st and 2nd bag for more then 50lbs same with wife baggage so total i am spending $1040 which is ridiculous due to Travel Agent forced me to take this separate ticket. I told him that i flew before i dont prefer this at all but guess when they take your all $ you have no choice but to deal with it!!!!

Also it doesnt matter what gate i come in "A,B,C or D" i still have to go to main terminal for baggage claim right!

  • Do I have enough time?

I am planning on flying flights KLM 1278 and KLM 611 on Nov 2 from Edinbourgh to Chicago O'Hare with only a 70 min lay over in Amsterdam (AMS). I am worried about having enough time to make the connection. Do I have enough time?

I have an American passport and will be checking bags.

Your ticket and the overhead screens on arrival at AMS will indicate gate arrival and departure number; however, observe the following transfers: Arrivals 1 & 2 areas lead up to Departures 1 & 2; and Arrivals 3 & 4 lead up to Departure 3. Departures 1 uses the B & D gates; Departures 2 uses the E gates; Departure 3 uses F, G, H & M gates. You should be able to make it easily within that time period (November is slow). P.S. You need to go through non-Schengen passport check. If you checked in your bags in Edinbourgh at KLM and KLM will also take you to Chicago, there is no need to pick up your bag at AMS.
