  • transferring luggage from Aer LIngus

My son is booked on a group flight out of Dublin so he's not able to use the luggage transfer to JetBlue. What's the quickest way for him to get bags and make his JetBlue flight. He added the "fast pass" option to his ticket.

Dublin has U.S. customs clearance - if he did NOT use it there, he would arrival at Terminal E (Volpe International Terminal), where he would go through passport check, retrieve checked bags, go through customs clearance before proceeding with bag to Terminal C for baggage check-in. If he DID pass US customs clearance at Dublin he would head straight to the baggage claim, pick up bag, get a cart, exit Terminal E and walk over - or take shuttle bus 11 to Terminal C, where he will check in his bag at the departure level, before proceeding to his connecting gate.

  • Where is Terminal 3 - B20?
    Dec 17, 2012

I have a connection that looks like it arrives at Terminal 3- Gate 23, but the connection which is only 40 minutes is at Terminal 3- Gate B20..Is this nearby because I looked online and it looks like it is Terminal 4, B20. Can anyone confirm or provide more details?

Terminal 3 at JFK has presently gates 1 to 18 used by Delta, & Delta Connection. To get from T3 to T4, take the AirTrain which runs on average every 8 mins - however, you need to go through security check at T4 whose Departure level opens up to the Concourse level, with Concourse A and gates A2-7, and Concourse B with gates B20-30.

  • Shuttle mayhem at US Air

Can anyone tell me to whom I may complain about the chaos that was the in-house shuttle service between US Air flights 768 and Flt. 3048 on Thurs. 12/13? I waited in a huge line and watched countless other inconsiderate flyers walk directly into the shuttle without interference from attending airport personnel and I want to fix the problem. Thanks, WLG, FL.

At PHL, free shuttle bus is operated by US Airways - you need to contact US Airways.

  • rechecking baggages

We flying from minneapolis MN (Us airway)to Chicago then connecting flight(turkish airline) to Istanbul and then from Istanbul to addis ababa so do we pick up our luggage and re-check or does our luggage go directly to our Istanbul flight or to the last destination which is addis ababa. We have 1:30 hours between flights.

You arrive via US Airways at Terminal 2 and need to transfer to your departing flight via Turkish Airlines at Terminal 1. You need to contact US Airways to find out if they transfer your bags; if not, you will need to claim your bags first at the arrivals level and from there take the pedestrian tunnel to T1, go up to departure level and check them in with Turkish; then proceed through security check & on to your connecting gate. If no bag transfer is needed, proceed to Terminal 1 the following way: the secured area, which is the upper level (Departures) has, right after you walk from gate F8 past gate F1, at right end a connector to Terminal 1 (with B & C gates), where you will arrive again in the secured area, and where you should proceed to nearby gate B6, walk past gate B8 (at right), take walkway to C gates, turn left to gate C15.

Sadec, please stop giving wrong advice. US Airways does not fly from Minneapolis to Chicago. Your flight will probably be operated by United or United Express and arrive at terminal 1 or 2. United will be able to check your bags through to Turkish if all your flights were booked on the same reservation. The bags will be checked through to Addis Ababa but you will have to claim and recheck in Istanbul. 1:30 is a tight connection from Terminal 1/2 to Terminal 5 (where your Turkish flight will depart from) at ORD. Hope that your flight is on time. Please disregard sadec's "advice" as it is completely wrong. You will need to take the ATS train from Terminal 1/2 to Terminal 5.

  • will 85 minutes be enough

I will arrive at terminal 5 with British airways at 6..45 pm and depart from terminal 3 with American airlines at 8.10 pm. Will there be enough time? Do I have to pick up my lugage at terminal 5? Can I check it in at terminal 5 or do I have to do that at terminal 3. Do I have to go to AA check in disk at terminal 3? Do I have to go security at terminal 3? What hapens if I miss my flight?

    1. Find out from British if they will transfer your bags to your American flight. If not, you need, after customs clearance, take your bag and check it in at T3's AA counter at the departures level. 2. Upon arrival at O'Hare Airport, at T5, you need to go through passport check, pick up bags and go through customs clearance. After exiting the Federal Inspection and luggage re-check areas, proceed up one level to the Airport Transit System (ATS train, running every few mins) where you can easily connect to T3 for domestic flights. 3. Either way you need to go through security check at T3, before proceeding to your gate. T3 has Concourses (with corresponding gates) G, H, K & L - American most likely uses gates L1-10.

British Airways will check your bag through to American as long as you bought your tickets on the same reservation. You will drop your bags with American in the basement of T5 and then go upstairs and take the ATS train to Terminal 3. American uses almost all gates in T3, not just L as sadec suggests.

  • Dulles to Amsterdam
    Dec 17, 2012

My daughter is flying by herself for first time (18 yrs old). Arrives Dulles from SFO on 12/25/12 at 3:49pm. Has KLM flight #652 for Amsterdam at 6:15pm. Luggage NOT checked thru from United to KLM. Don't know which concourse/gate the United flight will arrive & don't know where KLM counter & gates are? Does she have enough time to get her luggage from United, check in at KLM & get to her KLM gate? Any info is helpful for this nervous dad. Thanks

    1. United uses Domestic Midfield Concourses A, B & C with corresponding gates. KLM uses Concourse A. Both A & B concourses can be reached by foot from the Main Terminal, while Concourse C needs the AeroTrain. 2. On arrival at IAD your daughter needs to follow signs "TO BAGGAGE CLAIM / GROUND TRANSPORTATION" and go to the Main Terminal's lower baggage level & pick up her bags, then proceed to the upper level and check in her bag with KLM; thereafter, she needs to take the passenger walkway to the A gates. 4. I suggest that she opens www.ifly.com/iad, click on "Terminal Map" under QUICK LINKS and scroll down to the detailed text. She should pay attention to 'International Arrivals' for her return trip. An 18-year old can easily handle this! And she has plenty of time. for transfer.

    Thank you

  • will I be able to make it?

I just bought a ticket from KLM travelling from LA to Sofia (Bg) with a stop in Amsterdam. The flight from Amsterdam to Sofia is carried out by Bulgaria Air but they have a contract with KLM and will take care of my lagguge. What worries me is that on the way back I will Have only 50 minutes to make the connection. I called KLM representative and he assured me that that's enough time but I still worry. Will I make it?

yes i think you will make it

I strongly suggest you open www.ifly.com/ams then click on 'Terminal Map' under QUICK LINKS and scroll down to the detailed text. Pay attention to Arriving Passenger procedures & flight transfers & times, as well as terminal layout. 50 mins can be a very close call, depending on the lines.

    Thank you very much!

I am arriving from Paris at F4 at 8:35 and trying to make a connection to Raleigh at C7 at 9:45. I know this is tight, but maybe doable if I don't have to claim luggage for customs....is this still a policy? To collect your luggage and then recheck them for your connecting flight? Is there any chance I can make this? Also, this is the first time I have flown into F terminial. Do you take a train, or shuttle? I understand the shuttles are very small in capacity. Any tips of making this connection? Thanks for any help.

You will arrive at ATL at the new international J.Maynard Terminal, where you will go through customs clearance procedure and follow signs to the 'Plane Train' serving all Concourses in the center of their gate arrangement. Board the Plane Train and get off at Concourse C, which is divided into gates D30-57 & C22-C1. ATL claimed that baggage re-checkin is no longer necessary. Hurry!

  • Security going from T1-T5
    Dec 15, 2012

Quick question, I have to make the change from Terminal 1 to Terminal 5 in 2.5 hours. I know about taking the ATS from T1 to T5, but once I get to T5, do I have to go through security again or am I already still "on the other side" so to speak having gone through it at my previous airport? Thank you so much!

Yes, you have to go through security again, the ATS runs near the curbside in the "non-sterile" part of the terminal.

    Thanks, ZAP!

i have an hour and a half to make connecting flight to ireland.will i make it.

That depends on (a) if your first airline transfers bags to your second airline (if not, you need to claim your bags and take them to your connecting terminal. I suggest you open www.ifly.com/jfk and click on "Terminal Map" under QUICK LINKS, then scroll down to the detailed text.

  • Lockers for carry-on bag
    Dec 14, 2012

Hello, I have a connection of 12 hours in New York (JFK, landing and departure from terminal 3). I was wondering if anybody knows if there are lockers that I can leave my carry-on bag so I don't need to carry it with me in New York. Thanks in advance!

JFK has no lockers. If you use 2 different airlines, check if first airline will transfer bags to second one. If not, you could claim your bag at the arrivals level, go to the departures level and check it in at your connecting airline counter.

  • do she have enough time

grandma arv at gate 19 terminal C 2:19pm local time & connection is at gate 2 terminal A depart time 3:35p... is there enough time

At IAH, the above-ground TerminaLink train starts its service at the Terminal A station and connects Terminals A, B, C, D/E inside security, - giving her enough time for transfer.
