(United) San Antonio - IAD - South Africa. Ninety minute layover Tuesday at 4:00 pm. Is that enough time. Do we have to go through TSA again

You will not have to go through security again. All gates at IAD are connected beyond security. You just have to take the Aerotrain from where you arrive (likely C) to B.

I am flying in to Frankfurt with Lufthansa and only have 1 hour to switch planes to a Lufthansa flight to Addis...is that enough time?

On arrival at ID, all incoming flights from the U.S. are being handled at Area A. After passport control, a tunnel connects Concourse A with Concourse B (Lufthansa uses both Concourses. Your time should suffice.

  • T4 to T2 int to domestic connection time

arriving JFK T4 with international flight (SAA) and need to catch Delta flight at T2 to Orlando. Will 2h20 be enough to collect baggage, clear customs, change terminals, check baggage for Delta flight?

It may be enough time but it may not be. There are reports of immigration taking a really long time at JFK, but it varies a lot by time of day and terminal. You may get lucky.

I arrive FRA and must transfer to United flight to US in 40 min. Where are the likely gates of arrival and departure and how to get there?

    Arrival is on Lufthansa....I forgot.

At FRA, U.S. arrivals are being processed at Area A of Terminal 1 where they go through passport control only; (US departures use the Z gates). Lufthansa uses Piers (Concourses) A & B, while United uses B. To get to Concourse B use the SkyLine train inside security, departing every 2-3 mins. (or take the transfer tunnel outside security). B gates: B1-B63. Hurry!

  • Connection from T2 to T5 in 2 hours

I have a Delta flight arriving from Detroit at 3.56PM at Terminal 2 and I have next Virgin Atlantic flight to London at 5PM from Terminal 5. Will I be able to make it in 2 hours. I need to collect my baggage and check in for London flight.

You don't have 2 hours - you only have 1 hour 4 minutes. No, I don't think that's enough time.

sorry it is 6PM. It was a typo. Is it possible in 2 hours?

Yes, 2 hours should be doable if your flight from DTW is on-time

Thanks a lot ZAP. I need to claim my 2 bags and go to terminal 5 and check in. How much time should this take?

Claim will take 15-20 mins, Going upstairs to the ATS and taking it to T5 will take maybe another 15-20. Then you just have to check in with VS and go through security.

I just checked with Delta and they are ready to transfer the baggage themselves. So I will have to just check in at VA. This should be fairly doable. They will transfer the baggage means I will get it at destination(Mumbai) right?

If you're flying Virgin Atlantic to Mumbai then yes, it will be checked through to there, however, you may have to claim it in immigration in London and immediately re-check it with Virgin Atlantic there.

Thanks ZAP. My VA flight is from Chicago to Mumbai via london and is same flight. DO I still need to do that? Delta said they can do it for final destination.

You'll have to ask the Virgin Atlantic check in counter on that one. I suspect you will but don't know for sure.

Ok, Thank You. I should know that at Detroit itself when Delta takes my baggage. They should put a label for Mumbai.

Update on my Trip- I missed my VA flight from Ohare as my Delta flight from Detroit to Chicago got delayed by over 2 hours. I ended up paying $700 for next day flight with VA.

So can i handle the luggage all by my self. When you get your bags, can you find a cart right around there easily and do you have to go downstairs or something if yes is there an elevator to take with the cart to catch the airtrain? Sorry for my dum questions. I just don't like the unknown. Many thanks again.

The baggage claim is on the ground level where you find the carts. Then look for the Airline Terminals Train sign and head for the train. However, you can't take the cart onto the train!

  • info?
    Apr 23, 2013
The reason I downloaded it was for shuttle info. And so far NOTHING! Anyone able to help??

No need to use a shuttle inside the terminal. If you refer to a shuttle into town, these are your options: 1. The 'Airport Flyer' bus, which runs to downtown Austin and also stops at the University of Texas; 2. The SuperShuttle (tel. 1-800-258-3826). 3. The MetroBus (tel. 512-474-1200) Bus100 starts service at the terminal's lower level at 5:20am, stopping at Pleasant Valley East 7th; at 6th Brazos, at 18th Congress & at 26th Speedway.

  • How do I find terminal?
    Apr 22, 2013
I see that IAH is very large! I fly United that is scattered among many terminals! How can I locate the one where I should be tomarrow for my flight? I'm traveling to LAX.

flights from IAH to LAX mostly leave from Terminal C (slight chance of Terminal E). You can check in in C and if your flight leaves from E, you can walk there easily. you can check the departure gate at united.com as well.

  • getting around JFK

I'm coming in from Rome on Delta at 4:40 pm, need to connect to Delta domestic flight to Detroit at 6:15. Do I have to go through customs and immigration? Which terminal will I likely be arriving at? Departing from? What kind of terminal to terminal transportation is available? Is this time line manageable?

Yes, you will have to go through immigration in JFK. Your flight will arrive in Terminal 3 and depart from Terminal 2. There is a walkway between the two terminals. With the amount of time that it commonly takes to get through immigration in New York, I think there's a good chance you will miss your connection and have to spend the night in New York unless your flight from Rome gets in quite early. You are on the last JFK-DTW flight of the day.

Thanks for this very useful information.

  • From Jet Blue to Korean Airline
    Apr 22, 2013
What is the best/fastest way to connect arriving on Jet Blue at 12PM and need to connect to Korean Air leaving at 2PM.

You have to take the Air Train and hurry! If your Jet Blue flight is delayed at all you will miss your connection.

Thank you, that is what I am afraid of with this recent furloughs.

layover in newark from milan 1.30 min. Do I still have enough time to get to my conneciton flight? Do i have to take shuttle to my connection flight and also do i have to go through customs?

I really don't know if that will be enough time. Generally Immigration can take up to an hour so either your flight from Milan will have to be early or you will have to be really lucky to make your connection. You may or may not have to take a shuttle to terminal A (depends on where your [presumably] United Express flight to Atlanta leaves from. If you're flying Delta to Atlanta you need to take the Airtrain to terminal B.

Is any telephone number available for the lost and found arrivals in termnal 2?

At ORD, if you lost an item near ticket counters, gate areas or on your airpplane, contact your airline. If you lost an item at the security checkpoint, contact TSA at 773-377-1210. . If you lost an item in the public areas of the terminal, contact the Chicago Police at 773-686-2385.

I am arriving at TC gate c113 and I have a 50 minute connections which appears to go out og gate A28 which I assume is TA . I am confused on shuttle vs airtrain and which to take

On arrival at TC, the shuttle bus to TA is near gate C71, and you arrive at TA near gate A28 - no need to go through security, while taking the train requires going through security check.
