  • Hawaiian to southwest

I am arriving in Las Vegas via Hawaiian Airlines, connecting to southwest to go to Reno, Nevada. Does Southwest handle baggage? How do I get to Southwest? Thank you

Your first order of business is to find out if Hawaiian Airlines transfers bags to your connecting Southwest flight - if not, you need to claim your bag on arrival at Terminal 3 (Hawaiian) and check it in at your connecting Terminal 1 (Southwest is using both Concourse B & C - look at overhead screens on arrival to find your connecting flight number & gate). You need to take the shuttle bus outside the baggage claim area to get to Terminal 1, there you need to go through security and on to your connecting gate.

IS 30 MIN LONG ENOUGH TO CHANGE PLANES ON DELTA FLIGHT?

While Delta uses the McNamara Terminal, I cannot tell you which gate you arrive at or depart from (A,B, or C gates). Concourse A of McNamara has 1.5 miles of moving walkways, but also uses the Express Tram serving 3 stations - the South station near gate A11, the Terminal station in the center near the water feature, and the North station near gate A67. Concourse B, gates B1-21, (left) and Concourse C, gates 1-43 (right) can only be reached from Concourse A, at its center, by using the tunnel. Note: C gates C1-C7 are on the lower level, reached in the center of B/C via escalator. Half an hour would suffice - however, if you are an international arrival and need to go through customs clearance, you would not make it.

Even when the line is long the staff moves customers along. Food is good too.

  • From Terminal3 to international Terminal
    Sep 24, 2012

I'm a mom traveling with a baby and will have less than one hour to get from terminal3 to the international terminal. Will it be enough time? What is the shortest way? I will be flying back to Europe with Lufthansa. Do you know their usual gates? If I got it right I won't have to go through security check? Thank you for your answer.

    1. At SFO Airport, domestic passengers transferring from T3 to the International Terminal may transfer via a connector walkway (located post-securiy near gate 75) to the International Terminal's Boarding Area G arriving at post-security near gate G92. If they have not yet checked in for their connecting flight, they need to stop by at their airline counter in the Main Hall and then take either the AirTrain or walk to the International Terminal, where they need to go through security check before proceeding to their connecting gate. 2. The International Terminal has boarding areas A (gates 1-12) and G (gates 91-102) on either side of the two-level Main Hall. 3. On arrival there, look at overhead screens to find your flight & gate number, then follow signs. Note that you can bring a collapsible stroller onboard the aircraft, plus a baby bag (in addition to your carry-on bag. IMPORTANT Make sure your first airline will transfer bags to Lufthansa flight - if not, you would have to check them in at the International Terminal first, before proceeding to your gate. You have enough time - but do not hesitate to ask for assistance of any airline or AP personnel.

  • Are there public phones in Terminal 8?

I will need my kid to call me when she gets there...

Public phones are in each of the terminals, in the baggage claim area and Arrivals Halls.

  • Transfer between Terminal1 and Terminal2
    Sep 22, 2012

Hello... I arrive from Toronto on Air Canada to Terminal 1 at around noon and my connecting to Colombo with Srilankan is in Terminal 2.. I have about 2.5 hours to do the transfer... Is it enough?

At FRA Airport T1 & T2 are next to each other and are connected by the SkyLine monorail and by shuttle buses. The SkyLine trains leave every 2-3 minutes, stopping at T1's Concourses A & B continuing to T2 between Concourses D & E. The Arrivals Level 1 for both terminals has a shuttle bus stop outside at left, to Terminal 2's D gates, departing every 10 minutes. As you will have to go through non-Schengen immigration procedure on arrival, you will probably need to take the post-security shuttle bus. Eiter way, you have enough time.

  • flight connection at LAX

I only have a one hour layover between flights from SLC and to Sydney. The SLC flight normally comes into Terminal 5 and the flight to Sydney takes off from Gate 53. I can't seem to locate Gate 53. Does anyone know if I should be able to make the conncection on time?? Thanks!!

At LAX Airport, Terminal 5 with gates 50-69 serves Delta and Virgin Australia - all you need to do is switch over to your connecting gate 53.

We are flying into Terminal 3 and out of Terminal 1, with a 40 minute layover...domestic flight. Trying to figure out if that is enough time? Do we have to go through security again?

On arrival at SFO in T3, head for the Red line of the Airtrain (follow signs (pre-security). Your next stop is T2 then T3. Airtrain runs on a continuous circle around the terminals and takes minutes. On arrival at T1, go through security check and on to your gate (B boarding area gates 20-39, C boarding area gates40-48). Hurry!

Actually, United offers a shuttle between Terminal 3 and Terminal 1 that stays INSIDE the Security zone. You don't have to take the train and you don' thave to leave Security. It leaves every 5 minutes. Gate 39 in Terminal 1, Gate 87A in Terminal 3. (And maybe gate 71A in Terminal 3.) • connection time on 24th of December
    Sep 21, 2012

I'm traveling to Orlando with US Airlines on 24th of Dec, starting from Germany and stopping in Philadelphia. Since it's holiday, I'm worried I wont make it on time...I arrive at 4:10 pm leaving 6:05 pm. Is it possible to catch my connecting flight? Also on the way back on the 7th January, I have only 1:15 min, how is that?

A 2-hr transfer time on arrival at PHL should suffice, unless your incoming plane is seriously late. All international arrival at the U.S. need to go through passport check, pick up bags, go through customs, and - if continuing journey - re-check-in bags where indicated. Your arrival terminal will be at Terminal A-Wet (TA-West). As US Airways uses domestic Terminals TA-East (gates A1-13) and Terminals B/C (connected by shopping mall and having gates B1-16 & C16-31) you need to look at your ticket and on arrival at overhead screens for your departing gate. The terminals are connected at post-security areas by moving walkways. On your return you won't have to go through customs procedure and therefore need less time.

I have a long layover between my international and domestic flights. I asked a friend if she'd meet me for dinner. All the restaurants appear to be after security. I'd rather not leave the airport. Any ideas?

How do I get from Terminal #5 to Terminal #6. Walk Rail ?? Run? LOL

On arrival at T5, go down to the ground /arrivals level, then take the escalator down to the tunnel connecting to Terminal 6, up the elevator and on to security check and to your T6 gate!
