Im flying to Washington DC from Singapore via Hong Kong and O'Hare, arriving O'Hare at 11:20am and departing for Washington Dulles at 1:00pm. Do i have enough time to hop on my domestic flight?

On arrival at ORD at Terminal 5 (for all international arrivals) you need to go through passport check, retrieve checked bags, go through customs clearance and - if transferring to another flight - re-check-in bag (the tag should indicate layover and final destination Airport Codes), then proceed up one level to the Airport Transit System (ATS) station and take the train to your connecting terminal. The ATS shuttle train runs every few minutes between Terminal 5's ATS level & the and domestic terminals 1, 2 & 3. The overhead screens on arrival will indicate which terminal, concourse & gate you will depart from (depending on which airline you use). T1 has gates B1-22, and C1-31; T2 has gates E1-E15 & F1-14; T3, with Concourses G, H, K & L has corresponding gates. Your time would suffice if (a) your incoming flight is on time and lines are 'normal'; (b) if your bags will be automatically transferred to your connecting gate (find out) - if not, you would have to re-check-in your bags with the airline heading to Dulles.

On 12/23 I am flying from Denver to Dulles on UA0948 arriving @ 4:40. Need to transfer to Lufthansa flight LH0419 which departs Dulles at 5:40. Traveling companion needs wheelchair. Will we be able to make connection to Lufthansa flight?

    1. you need to contact United and tell them that you need a wheelchair out of your arriving gate to your connecting gate with Lufthansa (also make sure that United transfers bags to Lufthansa - not all Airlines do, if not, you would need to claim bags & re-check them in with Lufthansa.) United uses A, B & C gates, Lufthansa B gates. Under normal circumstances, on arrival you would follow signs 'TO BAGGAGE CLAIM / GROUND TRANSPORTATION'; domestic arrivals at A, B or C gates should follow the AeroTrain sign. • Connection from terminal F9 to B13

We have only 50 minutes to make a connection from terminal F to terminal B, both are US Air flights within the US. My husband is also disabled and will need a wheelchair. Can we make it?

While a special US Airways bus takes you from gate F14 to gate C16, with short walkover to B gates B1-16, you will need to contact US Airways regarding wheelchair assistance; Skycaps can also provide one or you can obtain one at the airline counter. To familiarize yourself with the terminals, open www.ifly.com/phl and click on "Terminal Map" under QUICK LINKS, then scroll down to the detailed text. 50 mins is very tight.

  • Transferring from AA to US Air

is an hour and 20 minutes enough time to transfer from an American Eagle flight that arrives at the satellite terminal and one leaving on US Air at terminal 1

On arrival at LAX at Terminal 4, take the LAX bus Route A on lower arrival level island in front of each terminal, under sign 'LAX shuttle airline connection', which runs every 12-15 mins. Your next stops will be T5 to T8, & around the bend to T1 - 5 stops or 12 mins. At T1 (gates 1 to 14), you need to go through security check before continuing to your connecting gate. BUT: if AA Eagle does not forward your checked bags to US Airways connection, you need to claim your bags at T4 and re-check them in at T1 before proceeding to security check.

I cannot see it on the map

EasyJet most likely arrives departs/ from either gates H or M; Arrivals area 3 leads to departures area 3, which include connecting H & M gates.

i am fly from Riga with airbaltic to Amsterdam and then from Amsterdam to Marseille with KLM operated by AirFrance. Will an hour be enought to transfer?

One hour layover for domestic flights at AMS Airport should suffice. NOTE: Walking from the entry of B or C gates all the way over to the entry of G, H or M gates would take about 15 mins. Walking to the end of B gates takes 15 mins; for the C gates 7 mins; for the D gates 8 mins; for the E gates 1 min; for the F gates in the Center 2 mins; for the G gates 5 mins; and for the H & M gates 7 mins.

we are arriving from Canada at PHL on 8.25 am with US airways, and our flight connection to Orlondo at 10:00 am from terminal B. what are procedures(i.e customs immigration...), and will we have enough time to take our flight connection

If your departing airport does not have customs clearance, you will arrive at Terminal A-West (TA-West) where you need to go through passport check, retrieve checked bags, go through customs clearance and - if transferring to another flight - re-check-in bag where indicated (the tag should indicate layover and final destination Airport Codes). Allow at least 35-45 minutes for this procedure. Otherwise you should arrive at Terminal A-East, where moving walkways get you Terminal B (gates B1 - B16 at post-security. You have enough time.

  • Int'l to Domestic Flight Bag Transfer

Hello, I am arriving on an international flight from Dubai (Emirates) and have to go through immigration, pick up my bags, re-check the bags and transfer to a domestic Alaska airlines flight (Gate C/D). Would re-checking of the luggage take place at the South Satellite terminal or do I carry my bags to Gate C/D? Thank You.

The South Satellite is the only one with immigration/ customs clearance facilities. If Emirates will transfer your bags to Alaska connecting flight (not all airlines do - check!) you would simply take the shuttle train to your connecting Alaska Airlines departure at North Satellite (or to either Concourses C or D, used now by SkyWest operating as Alaska Airlines). Check your ticket and overhead screens for your connecting gate. Note that Concourses & Satellites do not have a baggage check-in facility - meaning you would have to go to the Main terminal.

  • PDX to ATL, terminal transfer to ECP

When flying Delta from PDX to ATL with a 38 minute transfer to ECP, is it possible to make the flight on time? Flights 728 to 2111.

While Delta uses domestic Concourses A, B, & C with corresponding gates, the underground Plane Train stops on each Concourse at its center. You have enough time - simply follow the Plane Train signs.

Which is the fastest way to go to catch a domestic connection flight (short layover) and where is the underground plane train located

I suggest you open www.ifly.com/atl and click on "Terminal Map" under QUICK LINKS, then scroll down to the text. If you arrive at ATL on an international flight, pay attention to "International Arrivals" and transfers.

Ill be flying from Singapore to Washington DC with connecting flights in Hong Kong and O'Hare. Arriving O'hare T5 connecting to another UA flight at T1. Do i need to claim my checked baggage when reached O'hare and re-check in again or i'll meet my checked baggage in Washington Dulles?

    1. As an international arrival at ORD Airport, you need to go through passport check, retrieve checked bags, go through customs clearance and - if transferring to another flight - re-check-in bag where indicated; then proceed up one level to the Airport Transit System (ATS) station and take the train to your connecting Terminal 1. The free shuttle train runs every few minutes.

O'hare ETA 11:20. Departing for IAD at 1:00pm. Do i have enough time?

I don't think you have enough time. you need at least 3-4 hours to get checked and move around if you are lucky enough

I am flying from detroit on united express flight no. 5734 arrive @ 9:01 pm wonder whether 49 min enough to connect with United flight 932 to Frankfurt @ 9:50 pm

You arrive at Concourse C of IAD and depart from either of Concourses A, B , C or D (with corresponding gates - our ticket and the overhead screen will indicate your departure gate). Follow signs 'TO BAGGAGE CLAIM / GROUND TRANSPORTATION'; domestic arrivals should follow the AeroTrain sign; the Underground Aerotrain runs in a continuous loop from the main terminal's post-security area to the center of the midfield concourses A/B and C/D, takes minutes, but presently does not serve the D gates; it can be used for the following gates: A1-32, B35-79, and C1-30. The Mobile Lounge shutttle will take you to gates D1-32 and H-gates.

Thanks frnov12, do I understand that this time is enough to move between the flights. how much time will be to the flight to drop the bags and claim them?

  • Aruba to CLT to Houston

Coming in from Aruba and know I have to clear customs, collect and re-check luggage to get IAH-Houston flight. All on US Airways. 1 hour 7 min connection time. My question is how efficient is the customs/re-check in CLT at 7-8PM on a Monday night with 67 minutes connection time. I have Trusted Traveller access but my wife does not.

You will clear USA customs and immigration in Aruba and not in CLT - you need very little time in CLT
