  • Connecting from T7 to T4/T2
    Jan 4, 2014

I will be arriving in JFK from Hongkong with Cathay (CX 830) @12.10 PM and will have a connecting flight with Delta to Buffalo (DL 2907) leaving @3:30 PM. I will be travelling with my wife and will be carrying 2 baggage bags and 1 carry on bag. Is it the time enough for me to catch the flight on time. Need your advise.

Yes, that should be enough time. Once you clear customs in T7, if your bags are checked through to Buffalo you can re-check them in T7, if not you will have to take them with you on the AirTrain to T2 (your flight will depart from T2) and check them with Delta there (and pay checked bag fees). You will have plenty of time.

    Thank you for your information

Arriving @10:25 am Air Canada Terminal7 connecting to Japan airlines terminal 1 for a 12:15 flight. What is the best way to make this connection ? Does train travel in both directions? Do we have enough time to collect backpacks and get to next flight? Thanks

Yes, you can take a train in both directions. You should have enough time as you will pre-clear US Immigration when you depart Canada so your arrival into JFK will be like a domestic flight. http://www.jfk-airport.net/airtrain.html

Thanks Zap but I've been noticing that the air Canada flight has been arriving about an hour late quite often. Yikes would it be better to walk or take the train. Getting a bit worried about missing flight in NYC and then missing Tokyo flight. Help!

You can't walk between terminals at JFK, you have to take the train.

why is flight 908 scheduled to leave tonight at 7:35 delayed by 10 minutes? where is it coming from? and how do you know it is going to be 10 minutes at 4pm?

This is not Frontier or the RDU Airport's website. However, looking at the Frontier website, it does not appear that this flight is late. The aircraft that will fly this flight will be coming from Trenton as Frontier 907

so sorry. thank you for the information

  • Yyc connection in iah to mco

Flying united airlines from yyc to iah with a connection to mco have a 2hr layover. Traveling with 2 small children and a stroller will this be enought time to make the connection and get through all necessary security checkpoints

Yes, you will pre-clear US Immigration in Calgary. You will not have to go through any security checkpoints in Houston. Both of your flights, if on United, will likely be in Terminal C.

Yes both flights are booked with united as well we do the same in reverse on the way back but with 1 hr layover arriving both time around 8am to iah

The procedure will be the same on the reverse. You will go through Canadian immigration when you get back to Calgary.

  • Arriving at JFK from Buenos Aires to domestic Boston connection

Hi, I will be arriving at 0635 am at terminal 8 and got my connecting flight to Boston at 0800 am all via American Airlines. Do you know what gate normally Boston departs from? Is that enough time for the connection?

There are no usual gates. Terminal 8 is not extremely large. You should have enough time for your connection if your first flight is on-time. Immigration shouldn't be too crowded that early in the morning.

  • is 30 min enough time to change planes? Riding US Air from Cinci
    Jan 3, 2014

I'm not sure that landing at 636 and taking off again at 528 and taking off at 601 is enough time if I have to change terminals. Any help? Flying US Air

Charlotte only has one Terminal and all gates are connected beyond security. If your first flight is on-time you'll be OK.

  • Transferring from one United Fl to another United

I am a senior citizen and have only flown alone only 1 other time. I have to transfer at IAH. Arriving from Orlando on United and going to Omaha on United. Can I walk to new gate or will I have to take a train. Please help

You will probably arrive in Terminal C. Your Omaha flight will depart from Terminal A or Terminal B, so you will have to take the TerminaLink train, which runs inside security.

  • Fly in from Love Field and bound for Buenos Aries

We will arrive @ 820 PM from Love Field via UA and need to get on UA flight to Buenos Aries @ 900 pm. How and where shall we go/do about this since we've never been to IAH. Thanks.

Most DAL-IAH flights arrive in Terminal B, but it could also arrive in A. You will depart from Terminal E. Take the TerminaLink train, which runs inside security from your arrival Terminal to Terminal E. You should have enough time if your first flight is on-time.

I'm flying Delta YYZ to MSP and continuing to BIL with Delta. Is a 1h layover enough time to make this connection? Thanks.

Yes, you will pre-clear US Immigration in Toronto. All Delta gates at MSP are in the same terminal and within 20 minutes of each other.

  • Transfer Zurich-AMS-Tokyo Narita

Hi. I would like to ask wether 55 minutes are enough time to transfer at Amsterdam Schiphol. I will fly from Zurich to Tokyo Narita. Is the luggage going to make it too or is it likely that it would arrive after me? Thank you.

It should be enough time. Your transfer should be fairly straight forward and AMS is made for tight connections.

  • Terminal B to Terminal C

Arrive at 8:20 pm at Terminal B; Depart at 9:15 at Terminal C. Should we walk (run) it or risk waiting for shuttle? Thanks

You cannot run from Terminal B to C inside security. They are separate buildings. However, the TerminaLink train connects them inside security and is the much better option.

Hi, We are trying to figure out what terminal we are arriving to in Atl and what terminal we would be flying out of.. Airline is Delta. There is only a 52 min layover in Atl before flight to Lir departs. Would this be sufficient time?

All gates at ATL are connected beyond security by the Plane Train. You will arrive one of the numerous domestic concourses and depart from E/F. If your first flight arrives on-time you will be OK.

    Thank you for your help!

  • Quebec to Newark 1h connection

Hi, I'm flying tuesday january 7th I have one hour connection in Newark. I will land in Terminal C at 8AM and fly from terminal C at 9AM also. I can't pre-clear US Custom at Quebec .. Will I have enough time to clear immigration, custom, pick your baggage etc ??

No, that's not a legal connection as the minimum connection time is 90 minutes in EWR for flights that require going through immigration and customs in EWR. As there's no earlier flight from YQB you can try to get lucky and make the connection, but prepared to be stuck in Newark for awhile if you can't be rebooked or there are no later flights to your destination.

90 minutes? United Airlines got me on that one I guess?.. I called them earlier and they told me I can make it on time .. maybe they'rnt aware I can't clear immigration and customs at Quebec .. there's no flight later on January 7th ..They gave me the choice to go on January 6th instead and I'd be at Newark at 7:36 AM and leaving at 9:09 .. but I need to book an hotel ..

  • Connecting flight in ORD - AA1564 with AI0126
    Dec 31, 2014
    3
I have booked tickets from Phoenix to Delhi via Chicago. PHX to ORD is AA1564 and ORD to DEL is AI0126. The lay away time between the flights is 1 hr 50 mins. AA is saying this is not a legal flight since the gap is less than 2 hrs, although I have the tickets in my hand. The travel agent is unable to give me any other option and they are saying this is a legal ticket. Even AI is saying the same. Not sure what to do. Please suggest.

Were the two tickets booked together or separately? 1 hr 50 minutes is a doable connection if everything runs perfectly and your bags are automatically transferred (if both tickets were bought on the same reservation). However, if there is any delay or if you have to move the bags between terminals yourself that probably isn't enough time. Note that you will have to take the ATS train from T3 to T5, get your AI boarding pass, and go through security.

Thanks ZAP, tickets were booked together, but AA is saying this is not a legally valid ticket. They may prevent us from boarding in Phoenix itself. Is that possible?

Yes, it is possible. They should be able to re-book you free of charge for an earlier Phoenix-Chicago flight if there is one or the last flight the night before (which would require spending the night in Chicago, but is still probably cheaper/easier than changing everything).
