  • Connecting A (USAIR) to E (Continental)

We are flying into IAH on USAIR (terminal A) and need to connect to terminal E (United) in 42 minutes. At terminal E we are taking a flight to honolulu, hawaii (e.g. domestic). Is this a realistic connection time using the termnial link train? We are flying first class on both flights and presumably will get out of the USAIR plane fast..

Yeah, if your first flight is on-time it will be doable.

I have only 37 minutes to get from C19-E21. Is it best to run south from C19 to C43 and then east past C45 to TE21 or take the Terminal Link to D/E station. If it is the latter how do you skirt around International Arrivals in a hurry and avoid security? Thanks

Running is usually your best option whenever possible.

I am arriving from Florence en route to Los Angeles through AMS. The flight I'd like to take has only 50 minute connection time between landing and take-off on the flight to LA. Is that enough to pass through passport control? I will not have checked any luggage -- it is all carry-on.

Since both Italy and the Netherlands are within Schengen you will not have to do any immigration in Amsterdam. You will just have to go through security at the gate.

How long will it take to go thru security at Terminal 5 today for a flight to London?

Probably the same as any other tuesday in spring. Nobody can predict for sure. I flew yesterday and security wasn't any different from normal.

Hi there, I land in terminal 1 at 2:30 with eastern china and have a flight at 4:00 with jet blue in terminal 5. is it enough time. thanks

On arrival at JFK you need to go through passport check, pick up your bags and go through customs clearance & re-check-in your bag - unless China Eastern does not transfer your bags to your connecting JetBlue flight, in which case you need to take your bag along on the 'Airline Terminals Train' (follow signs) to your connecting terminal, where you need to (re-check-in your bag at the Departure level's JetBlue counter) go through security check and on to your connecting gate. (JetBlue is in both Terminals 4 & 5. If you need your bags to be checked in for JetBlue, your transfer time will be extremely tight!

China Eastern and JetBlue do not have an interline baggage agreement so you will have to move the bags yourself, as such I really don't think that leaves you enough time.

I am travelling from Nagoya and I have 1hr and 20mins layover time in Detroit then will need to transfer to another plane going to Minneapolis. What are the processes that I would need to go through in order to get to my connecting flight? Is this layover time enough to pass through all the processes? Thanks!

Your arrival at, and departure from DTW depends on which Terminal, Concourse & gate your airline(s) use; I suggest you open www.ifly.com/ then click on 'Terminal Map' under QUICK LINKS and scroll down to the detailed text, for all the necessary information. Your time stated should suffice.

You will clear immigration in the lower level of the McNamara terminal, then just re-check your bags with delta after claiming them in immigration, then go upstairs to the departure level and go back through security and then to your departure gate for MSP. It's a very simple process at DTW. You should have enough time if your Nagoya flight is on-time. If you do miss your connections, Delta has a lot of DTW-MSP flights that you can be re-booked on.

  • Malta to Athens

Flying into FCO T3 with Air Malta at 10.00 with a connecting flight at 11.00 to Athens with Aegean Airlines also T3. My agent says that as our luggage will be transferred straight to the connecting flight we will have enough time to transfer ourselves (providing the incoming flight is on time) , is this true ?

Malta, Italy, and Greece are all in the Schengen zone so you won't have to go through any immigration procedures and Air Malta and Aegean do have an interline baggage agreement, so your agent is correct.

I should have added that we are from Australia , will this affect the immigration procedure as we have never heard of the Schengen zone also is 1 hour enough time to catch the connecting flight to Athens ?

  • 55 minute transfer intra-alliance

Hello. I am travelling in September from London to IAD and have planned for a 55 minute transfer intra-alliance (AF-UA). Would this be possible? The itinerary planned is as follows: AF5181 arriving in AMS @ 1005 UA947 departing AMS @ 1100

At AMS, all passengers need to go through Passport Control - follow the signs for 'Baggage Hall' & 'Arrivals Hall'; then go through passport control and poceed to the baggage belts in the baggage hall (ground level). 55 minutes is extremely tight. I suggest you open www.ifly.com/ams then click on 'Terminal Map' under QUICK LINKS and scroll down to the detailed text.

Thank you for your response. I'll keep that in mind and RUN!!!

  • 45mins Enugu?

Ua3725 from Ind, connection to Ua925 heathrow, is 45 mins enough? 9pm. Any advice?

If your first flight is on-time you will barely have enough time. If it's late you'll be spending the night in DC. Thankfully, the airport is pretty empty at that time.

I'm arriving on Delta at T5 and need to meet other people ASAP at United at T7. Anyone know the time it takes to get between the two terminals? Many thanks!

It's about a 10 minute walk along the curbside.

  • Egyptair -> American Airlines

I booked two separate tickets (due to a change in plans). I will be arriving on Egyptair in Terminal 4 and need to catch an American Airlines flight out of Terminal 8 two hours later. Is there an American transfer counter in customs of Terminal 4 where I can check my bags once I've cleared customs, or will I have to drag all my baggage on the AirTrain and check in at Terminal 8?

You will have to take it yourself. AA will have no presence in T4.

  • Terminal 5 to 3 question

I am coming from a flight by Air India at Terminal 5. I have a connecting flight to MSP after 4 hrs operated by American Airlines. I need to know after I get my bags by customs, whether I need to take my bags with me to the ATS or can they be checked in for the American Airlines flight on Terminal 5 itself. My problem is that I will have around 3 big bags and it will be really difficult to carry them by train.

    American has a re-check in T5.

I am arriving on Delta from Boston at 5:30 a.m.and going to wherever Transvia departs from. Is this an easy connection?

    Search Transavia.com or open http://www.schiphol.nl/Travellers/FlightInformation/Departures.htm

Hi. I will fly from Paris to Hartford (BDL) connecting in PHL (all flights with US Airways) on Tuesday, 30 april. I assume I will arrive in A West and depart from C. My layover time is 1 hour 55 minutes. Is it enough time to get the connection and do I need to claim my baggage. Thank you!

On the way from Paris, you will have to claim your baggage in PHL in immigration then re-check it with US Airways after customs. You should have enough time.

Thank you so much! I can't wait to be there! :-)
