  • Getting from Terminal F to Terminal A
    Oct 24, 2012

I arrive at Philadelphia at Terminal F at 5.19 but how do we get to Terminal A to catch our flight to LON at 10.10 and do we have to recheck in our luggage.

At PHL, Terminal F is lcated on the North side of the terminal complex; you will need to take the free shuttle bus, operated by US Airways, which makes the following connections: at post-security areas between Terminals A-East/ A-West (at gate A1), and Terminal F (at gate F14). Terminal A-West is for transatlantic flights and has gates A14-26 - (this is the Terminal you will be arriving at on your way back, where you then need to go through customs clearance). Only international ARRIVALS need to go through customs/immigration process. Caution: You need to check with your first & second airline whether they will transfer your bags to your next leg of your journey - if not, you need to pick up bags, and re-check them in at your next departing airline's counter. Two hours will suffice in any case. (US Airways Express uses TF; British Airways, Lufthsa & US Airways use TA-West.

  • Customs & TSA

I'm going to Mexico next week. When I return the following week and have to go thru Customs, will I have to go thru TSA Security Check (again) before boarding my connecting flight to STL? I'm asking this because last year when I went and came back thru Miami, I did have go thru TSA. When we arrived in Miami, we barely had time to pick them up and re-check them. When I was leaving Mexico, I bought a bottle of Kahlua and ended up having to dump it in Miami when I had to go thru TSA. I don't want the same thing to happen again.

The reason why you may have to go through security again is that after customs clearance you are in the unsecured area and therefore, if transferring to another flight, will need to go through security check before proceeding to connecting gates - unless the Airport you arrive at shuttles you by special bus to your connecting terminal/ concourse /gate. At DFW, the Skylink train runs inside security, while 'Terminal Link' blue & green vans transfer passengers outside baggage claim depositing them between the following gates: A15-16 & A25-26; B12-13 & B23; C12-15 & C24-27; D17 and D24; E9-13 & E18-21. On arrival look at overhead screen to find your connecting gate.

  • T8 to T4 Transfer

Hi, I am wondering how to transfer from T8 to T4? I am arriving @T8 at 8:40am and have to be at T4 for a flight at 11:40am, is this feasible? Also is there a way to know what Gate I am at before arriving, all I have is a E-Ticket ticket number, and flight #s etc..

Your boarding pass, which you can print out at your initial airport, will show gates (T4 has A & B gates). Each of the 7 terminals at JFK, is assigned to specific airlines. It is best to open www.ifly.com/jfk, then click on "Terminal Map" under QUICK LINKS and scroll down to the detailed text. Note that the Airtrain connecting all terminals runs at post-security - you need to go through security check at T4. Two hours transfer time is plenty!

Where is the bus port located

Read the Introduction at www.ifly.com/stl - it clearly states "he Bus Port handles all local bus service (MetroBus) and Greyhound Bus Service and is located off Lambert International Blvd., south of the Main Terminal. If you need to connect to the Bus Port, use the free terminal shuttle, making regular stops at Bus Port on its route between the two passenger terminals. Pickup is at Main Terminal: Exit Door MT 12 and East Terminal: Exit Door ET 15." - When you ask for info - use PLEASE! Noone is obligated to give you info - I do it on a voluntary basis - courtesy gets you places....

I'm flying in on Southwest and my daughter is flying in on us air.. we will be sharing a rental car.. where would you suggest we arrange to meet within the airport ? Is there a convenient location? Arrival times are two hours apart... neither of us have been to STL before,so not familiar with the airport at all... Thanks

While Southwest uses Terminal 2, US Airways is in Terminal 1. My suggestion is to meet up at the rental car counter, located in Terminal 1, lower level (baggage / arrivals), between doors MT 12 & MT17.

If i'm coming in on a domestic flight, but want to meet someone who is coming in on an international flight, where do I meet them?

Find out which terminal your party arrives at and meet up in the Arrivals Hall near the information counter.

I have about a half hour to change planes arrive TB and connect at TF to Lga. Need advice on how to make it.

At PHL Airport all terminals, other than TF, are connected at post-security areas by moving walkways, and the shuttle bus connects directly to the F14 gate; transfer passengers do not need to re-enter security checks.

  • Visa Requirements

Hi, We are family of 5 from India. We are Coming to Frankfurt via LH 761 and from Frankfurt to IAD via LH 416. We have about couple of hrs before boaring our connecting flight I have couple of queries since this is our 1st trip overseas (1) Do we need a German visa. (2) Do we need to collect our checked bags and drop them back at the Check In again. (3) Do we need to pas through immigration and is this time sufficient. Thanks in anticipation.

Frankfurt Airport is well-managed with international signs guiding you. Your arrival and departure will be from the same Terminal 1; however Lufthansa uses both Concourses A & B with corresponding gates. Your ticket and the overhead screens on arrival will indicate flight number, gate & departure time. As you only use one Airline for both legs of your journey, your bags will automatically be transferred to the connecting flight. All you need to do is follow the "non-Schengen" (foreign) passport-check line. As long as you stay within the secured area (after security checkpoint) you can eat or shop (as time allows); then - if needed - take the SkyLine Train running every 2-3 minutes and stopping between Concourses A & B.

Appreciated, I am also coming back via LH419 and LH760 en-route to delhi & have about 5 and a half hrs stoppage Are duty free shops within the security checkpoints.

Can you walk between 2f and 2D and due you have to go through security? How much time does it take. Thanks

Both satellites 2F & 2D are close together and you can walk between them. However, you need to go through security check at 2D before moving on to your gate.

Will be arriving from Istanbul on Lufthansa at 4:10 pm on Feb 25th and departing via Air Canada to Toronto at 5 pm - do I have enough time??What happens if I miss my connection? (connections made by a travel agent)

You arrive & depart from Terminal 1 of FRA Airport; while Lufthansa uses both Concourses A & B, Air Canada uses Concourse C. The Skyline train connects these concourses, running every few mins.
