D11 to C12....I have only 45 min for my connection...Will it be enough...What is the fastest way to get to C12 from D11... Thanks for your help....

On arrival at ATL, walk from D11 to D16, go down the escalator & take the Plane Train to Concourse C, where it arrives downstairs of (upstairs)gates C30-57 & C22-C1. 45 mins should suffice.

I am flying Saturday April 20 DEN-IAD UA652 arriving at 9:00 p.m. connecting to UA932 to Frankfurt at 9:45 p.m. I'd hate to miss an international connection (i have no baggage). Is it likely that these two flights will be arriving and departing from the same terminal at IAD? What are the chances of a safe connection? Thanks, Sheryl

Yes. You will arrive and depart from C or D which are all connected.

I have 40 minutes to get from A15 to E29. What is the fastest route?

On arrival at ATL, walk towards gate A18, go down the escalator & take the Plane Train to Concourse E of the International Terminal; then take the escalator up - follow signs gates E26-37 at right side. 4 train stops - hurry!

Can I make it? What gate does Aer Lingus 105 depart from?

It'll be pretty hard. You'll need to take the airtrain to T5 then go through security.

    where is terminal S.

It's the domestic terminal where you check in for domestic flights. You then take the plane train to your concourse (unless your flight leaves from the T-gates.

  • Enough connecting time?

I will arrive from Berlin (TXL) to ORD and then fly to LAX (all on one ticket). Arrival time: 12.10 p.m.., connecting flight departs 1.35 p.m. Both airlines are in "oneworld" (airberlin and AA) My 3 questions are: Do I have to go through all the customs and securities to get to my connecting flight? Is it enough time to catch the connecting flight? Do I have to pick up my checked baggage and re-check it? Thanks!

Yes, you will go through immigration in Terminal 5, then re-check your bags there, then take the ATS train to Terminal 3 and go back through security. That is a really tight connection to do all of that, but it is possible. The good thing is that if you miss your connection American has many flights from ORD to LAX that you can be rebooked on.

Thanks for your reply! I contacted airberlin and they told me that my baggage would be automatically checked through to LAX... Are they wrong? And: They told me that it would be enough time and that AA would wait until we board the plane, since we are alrealdy checked in (?) I don't know what to believe right now...

Yes, it will be checked through to LAX, but you still have to claim it in immigration, walk through customs, and then re-check it at the AA recheck desk in T5. You have to do this any time you enter the US. AA is unlikely to wait very long for you as they have many ORD-LAX flights and the cost of holding the plane for you would likely exceed the cost of putting you on a later flight if you're late.

  • Terminal Transfer

We arrive in terminal 2 at 2:40pm and depart from terminal 5 at 4pm. Is this enought time for the transfer? Will we have to go through check-in, security, or baggage claim in the process? Thanks!

I should clarify, we transfer from United to Austrian Airlines.

If your United and Austrian flights were bought on the same reservation, United will be able to check your bag through to your Austrian flight. All you have to do is take the ATS train to Terminal 5 and go through security. You should have enough time.

Thank you so very much, according to a map of IAH, they look much farther apart. This knowledge comforts me because my husband and I are both handicapped in terms of lengthy walking.

How long to go from gate B83 to B84L. Is it do able in 50 minutes

Those gates are pretty much next to each other - should take less than 5 mins.

Sorry, not next to each other, but still a very short walk - maybe 5 mins.

I am arriving United Airlines and Departing United airlines. ( only have 23 minutes) will I arrive at the same terminal. will I be able to make it?

can i make the 23 minutes from gate to gate at EWR airport?

Yes, it's doable, but you'll have to run and hope that your first flight is on-time or early.

  • Enough time to make a connection?

I'm flying into Denver on UAL273 from Washington Dulles, scheduled to arrive at 10:20 AM, and making a connection to UAL1506 to Portland, Oregon, scheduled to depart at 11:32 AM. Will an hour and 12 minutes be enough time to make my connecting flight?

Yes, that should be plenty of time - all the United mainline flights are all on the same concourse.

Need to go from B25 to E10 with a one hour layover. Can it be done?

Your transfer time suffices. On Arrival at ATL, you arrive at Concourse B, where you are near (next to Gate the escalator down to the Plane Train and arrive by train at Concourse E of the New International Terminal's Concourse E; go up the escalator and follow signs to Gates E11-1 .

  • Toronto to San Juan

I am considering a flight from Toronto to San Juan in December that connects through JFK. The layover is only 45 minutes but we can go through US customs in Pearson airport in Toronto so we can avoid that at JFK however the flight from Toronto arrives in terminal 2 and the flight to San Juan departs from terminal 4. Is the 45 minutes enough considering we don't have to clear customs? Both flights are with the same carrier so the bags should go all the way through.

Not advisable. Winter flight delays & Holiday rush at the security check means 45 min transfer is taking a big chance: On arrival a JFK, look for sign to the 'Air Terminals Train' connecting all terminals - however only in the unsecured areas. You will need to go through security check at at T4, before proceeding to your gate.

C47 to E18 in an hour...what's the most solid way? Also, I have a back I'll be checking in when I hit my first plane. Do I need to get it and recheck it in for the flight I take at E18? Or do they move the bags for me? I usually take a single carryon.

What airport? When you mean "a back" do you mean "a backpack"? It depends how you check it - if you check it at the counter it will automatically be transferred to your second flight. If you check it at the gate with the bright colored tag as you do on a small aircraft, you have to claim it at the gate upon arrival.

ATL back=bag, I was on my phone. I thought that everything would transfer, just wanted to make sure a bag leaving the US didn't require me to do anything different at the airport. Thanks, ZAP!

If you're connecting domestic->international you don't have to do anything different. You should have enough time - just take the plane train between concourses.

  • 43 Minute Layover
    Apr 2, 2013

I have a flight with United Airlines from Norfolk Virginia (ORF) at 6:15 am to arrive at IAD at 7:28 am. I have a connecting flight from IAD to San Juan Puerto Rico (SJU) which is still domestic. The layover is only 43 minutes though! This is happening on Saturday April 6th. Will I be able to make the connecting flight in time? I also have special baggage (surfboard bag) traveling with me. Will they be able to get the bag on the flight in time as well? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

I have checked a lot of the flights from ORF to IAD and they are all on time. Even the 4889 flight I am on was 15 minutes early to IAD today.

Morning flights are usually pretty on-time. You can probably make the connection. But you will have to hurry.

Do you think my boardbag will make it?

It will probably make it if you do, but of course there's no guarantees, make sure you pack enough stuff for one day in your carry on.

One last question. Is there any way to know ahead of time, besides for the day of the flight, what terminal or gate my flight from ORF to IAD will be at and what gate or terminal the flights to Puerto Rico are at? I am trying to figure out if I will need to take the shuttle or just walk to the gate. Thanks again!

It appears that that early ORF-IAD flight is operated by Colgan, those arrive at concourse A. Your San Juan flight is on United (mainline) so it will depart from C or D. So if your first flight is indeed operated by Colgan, you will want to take the A->D shuttle or the A->C AeroTrain

It actually says on my orbitz itinerary that Flight 4889 Operated by /REPUBLIC AIRLINES DBA UNITED EXPRESS. Are the under Colgan?

Sorry, I meant Republic. Yes, that means you'll be coming into A.
