  • Any short connection line at passport control?
    Apr 7, 2014
    1
I will fly from MEX to ATL with DL366 arriving to ATL at 17:22, then connecting with domestic flight DL2112 at 19:34 for ORD. Shall I have enough time to check with passport control, take my luggage, re-check it and pass through security check? There exists any short-connection line at passport control, just like in JFK?

That is not a short connection. You should have plenty of time.

  • connecting Mykonos - FC0- Bordeaux

In July we arrive from Mykonos with Easy Jet at 11.40am into FCO terminal 2, and connect to a Hop! flight departing from terminal 1 at 13.05. Do you think we have enough time to make the connection? Do we have to clear immigration?

That should be plenty of time. Since Greece, Italy, and France are all in the Schengen Area you do not have to go through immigration.

I am arriving at terminal 4 from Johannesburg, South Africa at 06:40am. My next flight is on delta to miami from terminal 8 at 9am. They are 2 separate reservations so I'll have to recheck baggage. Will this be enough time? The next flight to Miami is only at 11:45am which will be a really long wait. Is there some sort of express queue at immigration for passengers with short connection times? Thanks in advance.

That will probably be enough time. There are no express queues. Also, Delta does not use Terminal 8. They use Terminals 2 and 4. American uses Terminal 8.

Thanks, I actually meant to say American Airlines, not Delta.

  • Connection time 2.10 hours Icelandair - Jetblue

We have 2:10 hours from arrival at BOS E terminal and are continuing on Jetblue from C. That should be enough time right? Does anyone know if it is possible to check baggage the whole way? Iceland-Boston-Orlando or if the bags have to be checked in again? Cheers, Bertel

Icelandair and JetBlue do have an interline baggage agreement but if you buy your tickets they may not be able to check them through. That should be enough time.

Many thanks. we bought the ticets through Icelandair so hope the baggage will be transferred between the flights. Would be so much easier

Then yes, Icelandair should check your bags through to Jetblue. However, you will still have to claim them after clearing immigration to go through customs then drop it back off at the re-check desk, but at least you won't have to bring it between terminals with you.

i am arriving at terminal E from costa rica flying with united my connection flight is to Pittsburgh and i have a 1:50 to make it to the next flight i arrive on friday April 11

That should be enough time. All terminals at IAH are connected inside and outside security (you will be outside security after you clear customs and re-check your bags).

We are arriving on a 757 from SLC on a Friday in June at 4:45 pm and our flight to FCO (Rome) leaves one hour and three minutes later. Is the connection enough time? Will we probably arrive and leave from the same concourse? Never been to DWT. Thanks.

Yes, both of your flights will be on the A Concourse. You should have enough time if your first flight is on-time.

    Thanks!

I have a flight coming into LGA at 3:00 on American and a departing flight at 3:40 on us airways? Is there any way I would make is connection if all on time? Best way between terminals?

If you bought both flights on one ticket (or have no bags to claim) you can make your transfer on time: AA arrives at Terminal TB, Concourse D (D gates); US Airways will depart from TC (C gates). Both TC & TD are connected at their airside (post-security).

ssapr is incorrect. Terminals B and C are not connected post security - which would be where you will be tranferring - it would be very difficult if not impossible to make this connection in 40 minutes.

  • YQB - EWR - NRT : international connection
    Apr 5, 2014

Hi! I have a flight from YQB, connecting in EWR for NRT, flying with United. I have 3h17 connecting time in EWR. Will I have to collect my luggage and go through immigration at EWR even if it is only a transit? I think I will arrive and depart from Terminal C. I see that the YQB-EWR is often delayed, what is the minimum connecting time? Thank you very much!

While Terminal C (TC) at EWR is exclusively used by United & United Express airlines - United also uses TB for international arrivals. As it seems that YQB has no U.S. Customs clearance, you will need on arrival at EWR at either TC or TB go through passport check, pick up your bags, go through Customs clearance and re-check--in your bag where indicated. If you need to transfer between TB & TC, you will need to take the AirTrain, and at connecting terminal you will have to go through security check before proceeding to connecting flight. I suggest you open www.ifly.com/ewr - then click on 'Terminal Map' under 'QUICK LINKS', and scroll down to the detailed text. You have plenty of time!

Minimum connecting time is 90 minutes. You should have plenty of time.

I arrive from Manchester, UK next Saturday (4/12) and have 90 minutes to make a connection to Chicago (ORD) on United Express. The Manchester flight is also United. Is 90 minutes enough time?

Yes, that should be enough time. You will clear US Immigration in United's facility in the C/D concourse and then your departure to Chicago will likely be from there as well.

  • Amsterdam-Frankfurt-India flight Connection time 70 mins at Frankfurt

Hi, I am taking houston to mumbai flight which has a stop at Amsterdam and Frankfurt. The frankfurt layover time is 70 mins and the departing flight is at the terminal . Would this be a sufficient time ?

Forgot to mention , the departing flight from Frankfurt is at the same terminal where the flight from Amsterdam gets down.

What airlines are you flying? Were all your tickets bought on the same itinerary?

  • Canadian Traveling to NYC with a 55 min layover in Chicago

Hi, We arrive from Canada to Chicago at 9:05am our connecting flight leaves at 10am giving us 55 mins to get from I assume terminal 5 to our next terminal is this enough time? Will we have to pass customs or obtain luggage before connecting to our next flight? Any help would be great. Thanks Miranda

Where in Canada are you coming from? You will only have to use Terminal 5 if the airport you are coming from does not have pre-clearance.

We're coming from Winnipeg, Manitoba I believe we go through customs at the airport here. I'm just worried its not enough time for us to get to our connecting flight. However they probably wouldn't make that time if it wasn't possible we're just new to flying over the border.

Since you pre-clear US Immigration in Winnipeg you will not have to go to T5. Both of your flights will be in terminals that are connected inside security - T1 and T2. All you have to do in Chicago is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

  • 20 minute connection flight

I am thinking about flying with U.S Airways down to Knoxville from Chicago with a 40 minute connection time in PHL. Would I have enough time to make it from my gate to the connecting U.S Airways flight in time?

It doesn't leave much room for delays, but it's possible, barely.

I just booked Hawaiian T5 landing at 6:55 am and was thinking of booking Delta T4 departing at 8:12 am. All domestic flights. I am from NYC and will NOT have any checked baggage. Just didn't want to book a 3 hour layover if it can be avoided.

It's possible but it's essential that you check in online for your Delta flight before you depart on your Hawaiian flight. Also, it levaes almost no time for delays.
