We are flying into Hnl-lax with BA (under AA) and then on to LHR also with BA after 11hr layover, does anyone know if our luggage will be checked all the way to LHR, or whether we will have to collect luggage and re check in for the international flight later? The flights were all booked as part of a One World RTW ticket. Thanks for any advice!

If your flight to LAX arrives the same day that your flight to LHR departs, then your bags will be checked through to LHR unless you request that they not be.

Hi. I will take a flight from London to Managua and Managua to London with a transfer in Miami. My flight plan gives me 2 hours to make the transfer in both flight to go and come back. is that enough? Thank you

Yes, that should be enough time.

Hi. I will take a flight from Managua to Paris with a transfer in Atlanta. My flight plan gives me 2 hours to make the transfer. is that enough? Thank you

Yes, that should be enough time. You will have to go through US Immigration and Customs, but both of your flights will be in Concourse E/F.

thank you! From paris to managua (Air France/Delta) do you think that i have to re-check the bagages in Atlanta?

  • 1:20hr layover long enough?

I have a 1hr 20min layover coming in with Lufthansa from Frankfurt and continuing to San Diego with United. If Lufthansa flight is on time, will I have enough time to go through immigration, claim my bag, check it in again and reach my flight?

That is 10 minutes below the minimum connection time, but you still have a good chance of making your connection.

Thanks for your answer. In the end, I decided to rebook my incoming flight to EWR with a 2.5hr layouver. It was free, I saved some money on fare cost and it gives me some peace of mind.

  • ATL- Bangkok with 1 domestic and 1 international stop

On October 24th I will be flying from ATL to Bangkok on United Airlines. I first fly from Atlanta to San Fransisco, then to Tokyo, and from there to Bangkok. All of the flights are on one itinerary. When I arrive at the ATL airport do I go to the international terminal or the domestic terminal? Will I go through customs in ATL or San Fransisco or both? I have a 1 hour and 40 minute layover in San Fransisco. I'm flying by myself and internationally for the first time so I'm a little nervous.

You will go to the Domestic terminal - United does not have a check-in counter in the International Terminal. You should have plenty of time for your connection in San Francisco.

I will be arriving from DXB, Emirates airlines to SEA and then connecting to YEG with Alaska airline. and i have 2 hr 40 min. do i need to recheck in my baggage and will i be able to do it in time. thanks.

Yes, you will have to claim your baggage to go through US Customs and then re-check it (at the re-check desk if your bags are tagged through to YEG, at the check-in counter if they are not). You should have enough time.

Thank you for the swift reply. I have 1 eTicket from start to destination. I will arrive at terminal 3 by Emirates. Where are the re-check and check-in counters and where i need to go to catch AS2584 flight for YEG.

Seattle doesn't have a terminal 3. You will arrive in the S Satellite where you will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, and go through US Customs. Then the re-check desk is right after that. Then you will go through security and take the underground trains to the C, D, or N concourse for your Alaska Airlines flight.

How long to walk from terminal A to terminal B? Is the shuttle easy to catch? Time?

B is horseshoe shaped. From the exit of A to the near side of B it's maybe only 2 or 3 minutes, to the far side it's maybe 5 minutes. If you arrive in the Satellite of Terminal A, it will take a few minutes to walk to the exit of Terminal A.

    Thanks for the info!

Do you need to go through security again from A to B?

  • Atlanta to connect with a flight to Hewanorra

What do we do when we come into Atlanta? Do we go to the international terminal? We have 45min layover which is short do you think we can make that flight?

You do not actually have to go to any different Terminal. You will just take the Plane Train from your arrival concourse to concourse E or F where your flight to Hewanorra will depart. 45 minutes should be enough time if your first flight is on-time.

  • 15 Minute Layover

I'm coming in from Forth Worth Florida, and will be landing in DFW and heading back to Vancouver, Canada with AA. The layover time has now changed to 15 minutes upon checking my ticket. Will that be enough time?

Woops, that was a typo. It should say I'm coming in from Fort Myers, Florida. Not Fort Worth. Thanks.

It might be enough time, but it really depends on your flight arriving a bit early. I would call AA.

I have a CLE-IAD landing in IAD at 9:00pm, and my IAD-LHR flight takes off at 9:50pm. Will I make my connection? Thanks!

    Both flights are United

Yes, that should be plenty of time. If you arrive in concourse A, you can take the mobile lounge or Aerotrain to C/D where your flight to LHR will depart.

CLE-IAD is an ERJ145. I read your comments below and saw it should arrive at A. Thank you for the quick reply!!

My mom will be flying from Houston to Newark and then connecting to New Delhi. She has 3 hr connection time. She will also have wheel chair assistance. I am worried that 3 hrs will not be enough - i just don't know. Will she be able to check luggage in Houston all the way Delhi or will she have to collect luggage in Newark and recheck. She is 83 and traveling by herself.

3 hours is a TON of time. She will not have to collect her luggage in Newark. She will be fine.

Is 50 mins enough time to get from the INTL terminal( on a domestic flight) and Terminal 3, Concourse F? How long will it take to walk (run) and do I have to go thru security again?

There is a walkway between the International Terminal and Terminal 3 inside security. You should have plenty of time if your first flight is on-time.

we arrive on 10/24 to terminal 2e. We then must go to terminal 2f to connect with our Rome flight. I understand that our bags are checked thru to Rome. So....we can walk to 2f..correct? And how long would this take? Is this the best mode to get there? We have only 1 hr between flights. I understand we also have to go thru passport security...how long will this generally take? Thank you...after reading so many comments online..it sounds scarey!

Is 37 minutes enough time to change from one United domestic flight to another in Terminal 3? If my plane is 10 minutes late, is 27 minutes enough?

Yes, both of those should be enough time.

I arrive at HIA from Tucson at 7:58 PM via United Airlines (Express Jet) and depart to London at 9:00 PM via United Airlines. Is it enough time to change planes? are the terminal close?

You will arrive in Terminal B and depart from Terminal E. All Terminals are connected inside security by the TerminaLink train. You should have enough time if your first flight is on-time.
