  • How to get to main terminal from bagage claim
    Oct 13, 2014
    1
We will arrive at SeaTac next week on AS at 1:40PM and then will need to claim luggage at baggage claim. We will then need to get to the main terminal to check in with Icelandair for a 4:30PM international flight. I would sure appreciate specific information on how to get from baggage claim to the Icelandair counter which I assume is in the main terminal? Is there an elevator we can use for this process? Are the floors clearly marked? We are from a small rural town and large airports make us very nervous. Thanks for any help.

The Domestic baggage claims and All Check-In Counters are in the same building. Yes, there will be an elevator between floors.

  • connection time - domestic to international flight

I am trying to verify whether 1:20 is sufficient time for a connection from Washington National through CLT to Rome Fiumicino. How much time is necessary for a nonUS citizen to clear immigration and change flights?

You do not go through US Immigration when leaving the US. All you have to do in Charlotte is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You should have plenty of time.

  • Flight from Toronto to Dhaka via Philadelphia and Doha

Hi, I am going to Dhaka from Toronto. I will take US airways to get to Philadelphia. Then I will take Qatar airways. I have a Canadian passport. Do I need to clear immigration and collect my luggage to clear customs and recheck? I also need to go terminal C from terminal A. I have 2 hours to connect my flights. Is it enough? Thanks.

You will pre-clear US Immigration and customs in Toronto. You will not have to go through any checks or do anything with your baggage in Philadelphia. Terminals A and C are connected by a walkway. You should have plenty of time.

I am flying from Salt Lake City to NY via Phoenix. I land at 8:58pm and depart again at 9:50. is 50 min enough time to make connection on a US Airways flight from SLC to American Airlines flight to EWR? No baggage to check. Both flighs in terminal 4. Thanks. Teenager travelling solo.

Both flights will be US Airways. You should have plenty of time. All you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

Is the 1 1/2 hour layover enough time for a transfer from lh 949 to lh 400 ?

Yes, that should be plenty of time. Since you are not entering the Schengen Area you will not have to go through passport control.

good luck with that. fra airport is a big mess with lots of security checks, slow and nasty personnel and horrific signage. it will be nerve wrecking and nail biting is guaranteed.

  • 95 mins to connect from T4 (int'l flight) to T2

Will be arriving to JFK T4 from SVO on Delta. Connecting to a JFK-YYZ flight leaving from T2. I'm a Canadian so have to go through the general immigration. Delta Platinum Medallion. No luggage. What's the likelihood of me making the connection? And what is the best/shortest way to get to T2 - heard one could turn back and re-clear security in T4 and then take a bus to T2, or take a train to T2 and clear security there - what's best? Thanks!

Since you didn't post how long you have, I can't tell you your chances of making the connection. It's less walking to go through security in T4. However the train runs more frequently and is faster than the bus. It's a toss up.

Thank you for your reply. Connection time is in my post title, sorry. It's 95 minutes.

You should probably have enough time.

Yes, I was enough time. Armed with the knowledge of the fact that there has to be a Quick Connect, I walked off the plane, followed the hallway, saw a lady directing people, asked her to show me where to go to Quick Connect (left walkway), and followed it. There was one family in front of me. Then stood in a fairly short line to Customs (maybe 5 minutes), walked out of the Customs area into the airport, turned left and walked to the sign Air Train, escalator upstairs, train on the left, another 5 minutes and I was near T2. You have to walk outside to reach it, but once there, security was quick. With 85 minutes for the connection, I had 30 minutes in the lounge before boarding.

  • Do I have to go out to the terminal?

I will be traveling from LHR to ATL on BA. I will only have hand luggage. Once in ATL I have to catch a flight on DL to Texas. Since I do not have to collect any luggage, after I clear Immigration, is there a way to go straight to my Gate for the texas flight without going out to the terminal and going through security check? Thanks!

There is a security checkpoint right after you go through Customs, go through there and you have access to the Plane Train that leads to every departure concourse. You will have to check-in for your Delta flight on-line or on your smartphone in order to do this so that you can get through security.

  • Rome FCO to JFK to LAX

Hello, We are worried that we will not have enough time to get through customs in time on our way back from Italy to JFK. We arrive from FCO to JFK at 6:25pm and will have to go through customs and our flight from JFK to LAX leaves at 8:05pm. Will we have to recheck our bags? Will customs take to much time? 1hr and 30min leaves a small margin of error! Any help? Thanks! *We do not know our terminal or gate numbers at this time. This is a groupon trip.

that should be enough time. Both of your flights will be in Terminal 4. You will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, then re-check your bags with Delta at the re-check desk, then go up to the departure level and go through security and to your departure gate.

Thanks so much I appreciate it.

Traveling from Zagreb (Lufthansa/Croatian Air) arriving Terminal 1 (no gate given) and connecting with LH 490 to Seattle. Only 60 minutes layover. Enough time?

should have mentioned the Seattle flight is leaving from gate terminal 1 Z23

prepare to sprint, but i dont think you will make it in time. fra airport is a behemoth.

We fly in from New Orleans arriving at 1833 then need to catch an international flight to heathrow at 1915 Is that enough time to get our connecting flight

If both flights are on United, yes that should be enough time. The TerminaLink train connects all terminals inside security.

I am flying from London to Guatemala and I only have 1.10 hrs to connect flights in Dallas. Is that enough time?

No, that is not enough time. You need to be rebooked. You will probably have to spend the night in Dallas if you attempt this itinerary.

  • Connecting times YUL-LGA; LGA-BOS
    Oct 11, 2014

Arriving from YUL (Canada) to LGA at 08:45, then need to get to 10:00 flight LGA-BOS. Both on Delta in First. No bags, but I assume we need to go through immigration and then security again. Is there a fast track way to do this. I see that Delta shuttle moves to C31&32 on Nov 1st, and we travel on Nov 1st which should help. Have we enough time? Any tips please?

OK, got the answer now - pre-clearance at YUL will relieve us of the pleasure of standing in the immigration line at LGA. Connection should not be an issue, excepting any flight delays.

Arriving in FCO Rome from Catania via Vueling Air at 9:30 am and then to US via US Air at 11:30. Which terminals? Is there any passport control in FCO or just security check? How about timewise- is there enough time. Thanks.

You will not have to go through passport control in FCO as Catania is also in the schengen area. However, to check in for your US AIrways flight you will have to take the Shuttle bus to Terminal 5 where you will check in and go through security. You should have enough time if your first flight is on-time.
