I am flying to Edinburgh, Scotland, in to Philadelphia on United from Orlando and out trans Atlantic to Edinburgh with only 1 hour 20 mins between flights. Is that enough time?

Are you use you aren't on US Airways? They have a hub in Philadelphia, not United. Also, Yes, that should be enough time. All you will have to do in Philadelphia is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

thank you for clarifying terminals etc when travelling from Manchester and then onto Reno. That's brilliantly helpful .Can I just check, for the return trip does the Reno plane arrive at Terminal 3 and then I go to terminal 5 for Manchester? Much appreciated.

No, on the return both of your flights will be in Terminal 3 - all you will have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. There is no US Immigration when leaving the US.

  • Which terminal and where do I take recheck bag?

Hi I', travelling on BA from Manchester to Chicago and then on to Reno (also BA). Do you know which terminals I will need to get to, and at which terminal do I leave my bag for recheck. Thank you very much!

British Airways does not fly from Manchester to Chicago or Chicago to Reno. Both of your flights will be operated by American Airlines. You will arrive in Terminal 5, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, then immediately afterward re-check your bag with American. Then you will take the ATS Train one stop from T5 to T3 and go through security and to your departure gate.

  • Transfer from Terminal 5 to Terminal 1

Hi, I have 1 hour 30 minutes to transfer between Terminal 5 to Terminal 1. Is time sufficient as I have 7 month old daughter traveling with me? I will have my pre-clearance at Dublin airport. thanks

Yes, if you are coming from Dublin on Aer Lingus you will go through US Immigration and customs pre-clearance in dublin and arrive in Terminal 5. All you will have to do is then take the ATS Train from T5 to T1 and go through security. That should be enough time.

  • Arriving from Delhi, and proceeding to Toronto via Chicago ...

Arriving from Delhi (India) to O'Hare via Air India, and connecting via Air Canada to Toronto. Do I have to clear Customs & Immigration in O'Hare? Do checked bags have to be picked up at O'Hare and then rechecked for Toronto (after Customs)?

Yes, you will arrive in Terminal 5, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, and go through US Customs, then if you purchased your tickets together and your bags are tagged through to Toronto, you can immediately re-check in T5, otherwise you must take the bags with you on the ATS train to T2 to re-check. Then you will go through security and to your departure gate.

  • Enough time for connection to Lima? Tips?

At less than 24 hours notice, owing to strike action by Air France pilots, we've been transferred to United for our flight to Peru from Manchester, UK tomorrow morning. We'll be arriving into Newark (B) at 12.25 and the onward flight is from terminal C at 14.15. Does this give us enough time? Any tips for getting through as quickly as possible? Will our bags be transferred (as our destination is outside the USA) or will we have to go through customs? Many thanks in anticipation!

Yes, that should be enough time. You will have to claim your bags to go through US Customs then re-check your bags immediately afterward with United. You will then have to take the AirTrain to Terminal C (if you arrive in B - United International flights arrive in both B and C), and then go through security.

  • Travel to DCA connecting at JFK

Hello!! We arrive at JFK from Madrid, Spain, in Iberia flight 6253, at 6:35 pm on Terminal 7. Afterwards, we continue to Washington, DCA, in American Airlines flight (operated by American Eagle) AA 3621 departing from Terminal 8 at 8:30 pm. We have purchased the flights separatelly. I understand that we are supposed to go through US Immigration, claim our bags, go through Terminal 8 by the Airtrain connection and then re-check the luggage with American Eagle. I'm worried if we will have time enough to make the connection. And, even we bought the flights separatelly, as Iberia and American Airlines have an association at One World Alliance, may the bags be directly checked from Madrid to Washington? Thanks at advanced, for your answer.

You should have enough time but you'll have to hurry to T8 to re-check your bags. Also, you will have to pay a checked bag fee to check your bag with American. However, yes, since Iberia and AA are in Oneworld you can show your AA confirmation to IB in MAD and maybe they will check your bags through for you. However, you will still have to claim them to go through US Customs. However, if they are tagged through to DCA you can re-check them in T7 instead of having to take them with you to T8. You also avoid having to pay a checked bag fee if you can make this happen.

Thanks a lot, ZAP, I hope the flight from Madrid be on time!! That's my first time with AA in connection. Only another question: my AA ticket has no bag checked, so I guess I must pay the fee at the check-in desk. But, may I do it in advance in order to save time? At the website I had no chance to do it when making the reservation. Thanks again

Yes, you can pay online for the bag if you do the web checkin online.

We are arriving from Denver on United at 8:27 pm and departing Terminal 5 on Turkish Air at 10:15 pm. Enough time?....is terminal 1 first to load on ATS shuttle? What is average wait time for ATS at that time of day? Thank you

Yes, that should be enough time. There are two stops between T1 and T5 on the ATS train. At that time of day there is 5 minutes between trains.

Is it easy to take the check in baggage in the train?

Arriving Cape Air terminal C, departing United terminal B. Is 40 min enough connection time, and must I to go through security again?

40 minutes will be very difficult - you will have to go through security in Terminal B. Be sure to check in for your United flight online before you leave on your Cape Air flight. I know that sometimes if passengers have tight connections Cape Air will drive you to your departing gate and let you into the terminal inside security.

First time in an airport. Staying overnight at Airport Marriott to catch early morning flight. How do I get from Airport Marriott to Terminal A-West? Do I have to go outside and catch shuttle or can I do walk it from inside? How long does it take?

The Marriott is connected directly to Terminal B via a skybridge. From there you can walk to Terminal A if necessary.

  • Qatar airways to alitalia transfer

Hi, this is my first time traveling to Italy. My flight plan is kul - fco (on qatar) - trs (on alitalia). 1) Can I check in for both the FCO and TRS flight from KUL? Or can I only check in for the TRS flight in FCO? 2) Can I check in my bags straight through to TRS from KUL? 3) I arrive at FCO at 12:40pm in T3 and my TRS flight is at 2:50pm at T1. Do I have sufficient time for the transfer? Thank you.

Did you purchase your tickets together or separately? If together you will be able to check your bags through to TRS. You should have enough time for your transfer. You will go through Schengen immigration as you go from T3 to T1.

I purchased my tickets separately. Will I be able to check my bags through to TRS?

Then you probably will not and it will be hard for you to make your transfer on-time.
