  • Israel - Rome - Amsterdam connection

Hello I am flying to Amsterdam from tel aviv through FCO. My flights are from tel aviv to FCO with alitalia, and than from FCO to AMS with KLM. Would one hour layout between the flight be enough, or should I be afraid to miss my flight to amsterdam. Thank you

Assuming you are an EU citizen, that should barely be enough time.

Hi there, I have a flight from Paris to Atlanta on AirFrance entering at 19.50, my next flight is Airfrance again Atlanta to Orlando departing at 21.45. The flight says I arrive in terminal I and leave from terminal S, can you help with directions and if I will have enough time?

You don't actually change terminals. You will arrive in the E or F gates, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the transfer desk, then go through security and take the plane train to your departure concourse (monitors will tell you which concourse). You have enough time.

i have 1 hour 20 minutes of connection in san francisco to Tokyo, will i have to go through customs? will i catch my flight? will i have to pick my suitcase up? im from mexico and my airline is united.

Where is your flight into San Francisco from? There is no US Customs when leaving the US.

it comes from Mexico city! are you sure? the airline told me i had to go through customs.

OK, yes, you will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags, and go through security and to your departure gate. This is 10 minutes below the recommended time. You have to go through US Immigration and Customs because you are arriving from Mexico, not because you are departing to Japan. This connection is possible but everything has to go perfectly to make it.

Im due to arrive by SW at 3:20 and meet a friend flying international arriving at 4:05. How do i get between terminals 1 and 3 quickly or would it be easier to meet at the Avis rental off airport?

There's a shuttle outside security between Terminal 1 and 3. You can meet your friend at the exit of customs. You would probably comfortably arrive there by the time he exits customs.

    Thank you. :)

I am flying to Florianopolis Brazil, but I have connecting flights in Chicago, then São Paulo. Will my luggage be checked through all the way to Florianopolis or will I need to pick it up in São Paulo and recheck it?

Your bags will be tagged to Florianopolis but you will have to claim them to go through Brazilian Customs.

  • 66 minutes to catch a flight?

Hi, i have been booked on United YYZ-IAH, and then catching a connecting IAH-QRO. WIll I have enough time to clear security? Will i have to claim bags and re-check in?

You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Toronto. All you have to do in Houston is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You will not have to claim your bags or go through security.

  • Southwest/Delta + Japan

I will be doing a roundtrip from MCI to NRT. I will purchase Southwest tickets for domestic travel to/from LAX, then Delta tickets for the LAX/NRT travel. How much time (I'm a slow mover btw!) do I need to handle customs, terminal changes, re-checking bags, and re-entering security at LAX? What's the walking path for the LAX terminals I can do?

On your way to NRT I would want 2 hours. There is no US Customs upon departing the US. This would be the bare minimum. Southwest arrives in Terminal 1 and Delta departs from Terminal 5. There is no direct route between them, you can walk across the parking garages or take a slow shuttle bus on the lower level. You will have to transfer your bags yourself. On the way back I would want at least 3 hours, preferably a bit more.

Also, why are you so dead-set on this particular routing? there would be many other routings that would be both easier and more efficient between Kansas City and Tokyo.

The points I have with Southwest gives me enough to travel to/from LAX for free, and LAX has cheap flights to/from Tokyo. This was the best option I found, unless there is a different combination I can use. that you know of. Thank you for the routing and timing help.

OK, makes sense. Seattle also has cheap flights to Tokyo but the Southwest flight there from KC arrives far too late to connect to any of the Tokyo flights. It's fine going through LAX, just be sure to leave plenty of time to make the connections.

Hello, I am a non us citizen. I'm travelling from PUJ (Punta cana) to MCO (Orlando) by MIA. I have a 2 hjours and 30 minutes layover in MIA. Is it enough? I have to go through customs, pick up my baggage, etc??

Yes, in Miami you will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the transfer desk, then go through security and to your departure gate. You should have enough time.

Hi there, I'm flying Alaska Airlines from YVR-SEA then on to Orlando (also on Alaska). Is one hour between the SEA and MCO flights enough time to make the connection? I don't have any gate information to know how far apart they are. Will my bags be checked right through or do I have to get them in between flights? Thanks in advance for your help.

You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Vancouver. All you have to do in Seattle is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. Alaska uses gates in the C, D, and N concourses. They are all connected inside security. N is connected to C and D by an underground train.

  • IND to ORD to DUB

I have a flight from ind to ord that arrives at at 5:40pm in terminal 3, and then I want to catch a flight to Dublin that leaves at 8:00pm from terminal 5. Is that enough time? Do I have to go through security or get bags or anything? Thanks.

also, my tickets were purchased together

If your tickets were purchased together than that is plenty of time. Your bags should be tagged through to DUB. You will have to go through security again in Terminal 5.

    Ok. Thanks!

  • LAX terminal B to 4 connection
    May 19, 2015

Hi, I am arriving on US air from London to LAX arriving at 1535, with a connection at 1715 to RNO. this is all on a AA/US codeshare ticket... i am assuming this will be fine as its one ticket, can anyone help? terminal B to 4. Thanks

This is a fairly difficult but doable connection. If your flight from London is operated by British Airways it will arrive in the International Terminal, if it is operated by american it will arrive in Terminal 4. You will then go through security, claim your bags, go through US Customs, then re-check your bags at the transfer desk. Then if you arrived in the International Terminal, walk to terminal 4 (it's a short walk). Then, go through security. Your flight to Reno will depart from the American Eagle satellite terminal, you will have to take a shuttle bus to get there. The shuttle bus is after you go through security in Terminal 4.

Thank you. Do you know how long the shuttle takes to the satellite terminal?

    About 10-15 minutes.

  • Manchester UK - San Fran via PHL

Hi, I'm looking to fly from Manchester UK to San Francisco via Philadelphia on USairways, it will be a Saturday outbound and inbound. On the way there get to PHL at 1:40pm and there's a 2h 25m wait to catch the flight to SFO at 4:05pm. Is this enough time to change given immigration/security checks etc? Coming back leave SFO at 10:45am get to PHL 7:20pm with 1h 40m wait to change for 9:00pm flight to Manchester. Will this be enough time to change? Will the return be quicker as I will have cleared immigration/security at SFO? Thanks

Yes, 2 hr 25 minutes is enough time for immigration, customs, and security on your way to San Franscisco. On the return to Manchester all you have to do in Philadelphia is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate, no immigration or security required.

Hi, Ill stopover in SEA the 28th of May at 11.09 from Amsterdam. Then I have a flight to Las Vegas at 1pm. I will have to get my luggage, check it in again and go throu security. It was booked on 1 ticket with KLM. Am I going to make it?

  • Istanbul-FCO-Madrid 55 mins layover w Alitalia

Hello, we are flying from Istanbul to Madrid with a short 55 mins layover in Rome Fiumicino. Our whole itinerary is operated by Alitalia. Wondering if we have enough time to make the connection and also worried about luggage and whether we need to go through passport control. Appreciate the help!

Yes, you will go through passport control in Rome. It is a possible, but difficult connection.

Thank you much ZAP. I guess we will have to find an alternate flight to Madrid from IST, since the one we got through FCO is the last flught on Friday night and can't risk it
