  • Connecting Question

Hi, I'm arriving to ORD from St. Louis on an AA flight at Terminal 3 and connecting to Korea via Korean Air at Terminal 5. Will I have to claim and re-check bags at ORD? And will 2.5 hours be enough?

If you purchased your tickets together your bags should be checked through to Korea and you will not have to claim them in Chicago. However, if you purchased two separate tickets you will have to claim them and take them on the ATS Train to T5 to check with Korean. Either way you have enough time.

I'm arriving to JFK 20 Dec 2014 with DELTA DL 1012 from Moscow (SVO) to New York (JFK). Then I'm going to Toronto 20 Dec 2014 with DELTA DL 2988 from New York (JFK) to Toronto (YYZ) . What terminal do am I arriving at JFK? What terminal do I need at JFK to go to get to YYZ?

You will arrive in Terminal 4, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the transfer desk, then take the AirTrain to Terminal 2, go through security and to your departure gate. You will need a US Transit visa if you are a Russian citizen.

My wife is on flight as we speak arriving Delta Flt 1592 from San Diego which is 5 min late and departing Delta Flt 1178 to Richmond, Va Terminal A Gate 30 at 2:15. Is their enough time to make connecting flight.

Yes, that should have been plenty of time. A and B are concourses, not Terminals. They are connected inside security by the Plane Train.

I land in IAH at 4:42 PM from Toronto with a connecting flight to San luis Potosi Mexico at 7 PM. I am traveling with and infant on a baby carrier. Is that enough time 2hrs and 18 min to make the connecting flight? Will my checked luggage go through directly or do I have to claim it and go through security? I arrive in terminal B, what terminal do I leave from? How far is the walking distance or do I take a tram?

On your way to SLP all you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate, which will both be in Terminal B, in Houston. You will pre-clear US Immigration and customs in Toronto. You have plenty of time.

Thank you ZAP! You are doing an amazing job. :D

  • LHR - CLT - MCO Connection Query

We are arriving into CLT from London UK, connecting to MCO (Orlando FL) next March. We have a 90 minute connection time. Is this sufficient as our agent says it will be on US Airways saying that 60 minutes would be the minimum requirement, but I am not so sure

Yes, it should be enough time. You will arrive, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the transfer desk, then go through security and to your departure gate. CLT is the smallest and simplest of the international hubs in the US.

I have a 7:22am arrival on United and 7:56 departure on United at Denver airport. I am only bringing carry on. Will I have enough time?

Yes, all United flights are on concourse B. All you have to do is walk from one gate to the other.

I am arriving from Tampa at 2:46 pm and departing for New Orleans at 3:26 pm. Is a 40 min connection enough time? A few days later I am then arriving from New Orleans at 7:49am and departing DFW at 8:40am to Albuquerque, is this enough time?

Your first connection is barely enough time and your second connection should be enough time as well. The SkyLink train connects all terminals inside security. Obviously neither connection leaves a whole lot of time to spare in case of delays.

I am travelling from Lubbock, arriving at terminal B IAH at 0930. I have 65 mins to make it to terminal E, departing at 1040. Is the transit time sufficient?

Yes, that is enough time. The TerminaLink train connects all terminals inside security.

I am flying US Airways LGA to PHL, and then American Airways PHL to Dublin, with a 1hr 5 min connection time, on 23rd of Dec. Is this enough time, and how likely are delays?

Yes, that is enough time if your first flight is on-time. Delays on flights coming out of LGA are pretty common, but the airlines do put in a lot of cushion to account for that.

I will fly with Garuda Indonesia then connect to KLM with 2 hours stopover (not a direct connection booking). Do you think it's enough for immigration and re-checking baggage? How long would be from the arrival to the departure hall?

Yes, that should be enough time. Where you will exit customs and the departure hall are pretty close together.

    Thanks a lot!

On Thursday I'm flying from BNA to DFW and then from DFW to SGF. My flight from BNA is scheduled to land at DFW at 3:25 and my flight to SGF is schedueled to leave at 4:25 leaving me only one hour to make my connection. Will I be able to make it?

Yes, that is enough time. if you have to change terminals, the SkyLink train connects all terminals inside security.

I land in IAH at 8:02 PM from Detroit with a connecting flight to Buenos Aires at 9 PM. Is that enough time to make the connecting flight? Will my checked luggage go through directly or do I have to claim it and go through security? What terminal do I arrive in and what terminal do I leave from? How far is the walking distance or do I take a tram?

Yes, that is enough time. You will arrive in Terminal B or C and depart from terminal E. If you arrive in B you will take the tram, if you arrive in C you can walk. Yes, your bags will be sent straight through, you will not have to go through security on your way to Buenos Aires.

I am arriving at Terminal E on Singapore airlines at 1405 and taking a UA flight at 1559 to Boston. Is that enough time ? I have 1 check in bag. Should I take the train or Walk to terminal C?

Yes, that should be enough time. It's probably best to walk. You will actually arrive in Terminal D.

Also, note that you posted this in the Houston Hobby section. Singapore Airlines and United fly to Houston Intercontinental (IAH) not Houston Hobby (HOU).

  • DFW to DSM 3 hr layover
    Dec 8, 2014
    1
hi so I will be getting to DFW from heathrow at around 5pm December 12 and my next flight to Des Moines leaves at around 8pm (I have a 3hr layover) will that be enough time to get through customs and security and everything without missing my flight to DSM? and also do you sort visa things at customs as well? and would I need to re check my bags at DFW if it's all on American Airlines? thanks

Yes, that will be plenty of time. You will arrive in Terminal D, go through US Immigration (you will need to get your Visa before you depart if you do not hold a passport of a visa waiver country, you will need to complete ESTA if you have a visa-waiver passport), then claim your bags, then go through US Customs, then re-check your bags at the transfer desk. Then you will go up to the departure level and through security, then take the SkyLink train to your departure terminal.

  • Connection at JFK from London, UK to Toronto, Canada
    Dec 8, 2014

I have a flight from London to Toronto with a connection at JFK. I arrive at T4 and depart from T2. I bought my tickets together as one. Will I need to go through security/collect my bags and re-check them, or will they be automatically transferred because I bought my tickets as one? Flying the same route back to the UK. I only have an hour for that connection. Will that be enough time?

On your way to Toronto you will arrive in T4, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, then re-check your bags at the transfer desk, then take the Airtrain to T2, go through security and to your departure gate. On your return, you will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Toronto, so all you have to do in JFK is take the Delta shuttle bus from T2 to T4 and walk to your departure gate.
