  • limited transfer time

We arrive in Detroit on Delta with only 40 min to transfer to international flight to Paris on Air France (in November). Is this enough time?

All Delta gates are connected inside security in the McNamara Terminal. You have enough time if your first flight is on-time but little time to spare for any delays.

I'm traveling from LA on the 3rd and have a 39 minute layover on a flight to San Jose, Cost Rica. Is that enough time. As anyone ever don't this route?

That is enough time but barely. You will arrive in C and depart from E, which are directly connected

I am on the same exact flight trying to make the same layover. Hopefully if there are enough people they can hold it a few minutes if need be.

  • Domestic transfer at Seattle Airport: YVR-SEA-LAS

I am going to travel from YVR to LAS via SEA. I will be arriving at Seattle at 6:48am(Horizon) and departing for Las Vegas at 7:50am(Alaska Airlines). I have only one hour in Seattle. Is it enough time to transfer? Do I have to take my luggage and re-register?

Go through US Customs clearance at YVR - you will then be a domestic arrival at SEA & simply transfer to your connecting gate, as bags will automatically be transferred. Note that Alaska uses Central Terminal Concourses C, D and Satellite North (N gates). I suggest you open www.ifly.com/sea, then click on 'Terminal Map' under 'QUICK LINKS', and scroll down to the detailed text - paying attention to 'Connecting between Terminal & gates'.

  • PHX to FRA via HOU

My daughter is flying from Phoenix to Frankfurt via Houston. If the flights are on schedule she has 1 hr 5 min at HOU. She will be arriving at C42 and will be leaving from Terminal D. Is that enough time?

Your transfer time is sufficient: On arrival look for signs to North Concourse, gates C14-23: gate C14 connects to gates D1-D3. (TD has gates D1-12).

  • Connection between Terminal 5 and 1

My JetBlue flight from Charlotte arrives around 09:40 pm and my Korean Air flight to Seoul departs at 12:50, my baggage is checked through from Charlotte (JetBlue-Korean Air has a interline agreement). Will I have enough time considering security etc. BTW it will be on a Tuesday night.-Thanks

Yes you have plenty of time for transfer. On arrival, look for the 'Airline Terminals Train' sign and take the train to T1 (running counter-clockwise - your next stops after T5, are T7, T8 & T1. On arrival at T1, you need to go through security check before proceeding to your gate.

Thanks sajun14...that takes a world of worry me!

  • Minimum Connection Time
    Jun 28, 2014
    1
What is minimum connection time at LAX going from Southwest terminal to American terminal, assuming no checked bags and domestic only.

You arrive at Terminal 1 & depart from Terminal 4. Your only option, other than taking a taxi, is to take the LAX bus Route A on lower arrival level island in front of each terminal, under sign 'LAX shuttle airline connection', which runs every 12-15 mins. Your next stops will be T2,T3, TBIT, & T4 - 4 stops taking 10 mins. HOWEVER, you need to go through security check at T4 (with gates 42-49) before proceeding to your connecting gate.

  • SFO --> HOU (Term C) --> Panama (Term E)

I have a one hour and 15 min connection between my flight from SFO (Terminal C) and my flight to Panama (Terminal E). Is that enough time and is it walkable?

On arrival at IAH, at Terminal C (TC), which has North & South Concourses (North gates C24-27; South C29-45) - the South Concourse at gate C45 connects to Terminal E. (follow signs). You have plenty of time.

  • sea delay with ams transfer to MAD
    Jun 28, 2014

My daughter is on first international flight alone, and it was delayed slightly out of seattle. With landing in AMS at 8:30, and MAD flight boarding at 9am...any possibility of her making? Still confused if she needs to recheck her own luggage non-schengen to schengen? If delayed...who does she talk with to help expedite her through? She is unaccompanied.

At AMS she will have to go through non-Schengen (foreign) procedure, before she will be able to proceed to her non-Schengen (domestic) flight. 30 mins transfer time with checked luggage is therefore too short - unless she will only have a carry-on bag. I suggest you open www.ifly.com/ams, then click on 'Terminal Map' under 'QUICK LINKS', and scroll down to the detailed text.

  • Luggage Storage by Terminal 7
    Jul 2, 2014

We are arriving to JFK at Terminal 5 at 8:00 am and departing at 2:10 pm via Terminal 7 to Iceland. We would like to collect our bags and store them so we can escape JFK for a few hours. Any suggestions on a close location to store them? Are there any services that will check them early? Thanks!

Did you receive an answer ? I am very interested too. Thanks !

  • Connection Time Concern

Flying from Florence, SC to Rochester, NY - layover is only 33 minutes. I KNOW that we will arrive in 'E' since it is a small plane. Will 33 minutes be enough time to catch a connecting flight. I am traveling alone with a two year old....

33 mins should be OK if your first flight is on-time. All gates at CLT are connected inside security.

Need to quickly get from Terminal 1 (D gates) to Terminal 3 (E gates) for a connection. What is the best way? How quickly can it be done?

The D-gates are part of both Terminal 1 and 3 and there is a train that runs inside security to each of them.

Hi there, we are flying ICN-SFO (United) arr 11:30am connecting to SFO-YYC (WestJet) dep 2:00 WITH DOG (Westjet desk is aisle 6 international terminal) The SFO-YYC passenger is not US citizen so must go through all the checks and everything. Will he have enough time, including re-checking in the dog for the

With the dog, it will be very difficult.

It depends what airline your first ticket is on. If they have a close relationship with AA, that agent may be willing to tag your bag through to AA if you show your AA confirmation or boarding pass. If so, then you can re-check your bags in T5. Otherwise you will have to take them on the ATS to Terminal 3 to check them with AA.

I'll be coming in on SAS..how do I find out if they have a close relationship with AA.... and thanks for the information

  • Connecting Aegean to United via FCO
    Jun 27, 2014

My details are below, which involves a 50m layover. Is this possible? It doesn't seem so but would like to know the details of the transfer: Aug 28 A3 650 ATH 8:45AM FCO 10:00AM 2h 15m Airbus A320 Economy (O) Layover in FCO 0h 50m UA 967 FCO 10:50AM IAD 2:55PM 10h 5m Boeing 767 Economy (K)

No, that's not really possible as transferring to United means you have to go to Terminal 5.

Any idea why Google ITA would spit this out as an option?

Because it doesn't know what a pain in the ass getting to Terminal 5 is and since United has very little connecting traffic at FCO, they haven't bothered to increase their minimum connecting time there accordingly since Terminal 5 opened.

Yes, that should be enough time. You will go through EU exit passport control when exiting the Schengen concourse and then security at your departure gate.

this ZAP guy always says you have enough time, he must be working for FRA....its a horrific airport and you will miss most connections

I do not work for FRA

I am getting married in Iceland in May 2015 and Delta does not fly there but from June to Sept so I will be flying from Atlanta to JFK (Delta) then flying Icelandair to Reykjavik. How much time do I need to leave in between flights going each way? Also, I'm assuming I'll have to go get my bags from baggage claim at JFK and go back through security or can I check them all the way through from Atlanta?

Icelandair and Delta do have an interline baggage agreement, however, for your bags to be transferred you will need to book the tickets together on one reservation. Even if your bags are transferred you will have to exit security, take the AirTrain to Terminal 7, get your IcelandAir boarding pass, and go through security to make your transfer. I would want at least 2.5 hours for such a transfer.

  • Domestic to International 1 hr layover

I am flying from SAT into IAH (term C)with a 1 hr. layover then going to Toronto YYZ (fromTerm A) is this possible ?

Yes, it's possible. The TerminaLink connects all Terminals inside security. I assume your Toronto flight is on Air Canada if you say you're leaving from A, correct?

    Yes, thanks
