Hello, I'm travelling from Quebec city to Colombia. I have one stop in PHL and another one in Miami. Do I need to pick up my luggage at some point? I don't think we have US customs in YQB airport.. will I need to take my luggage in PHL? thank you

And then when I will arrive in MIAMI, do I need to take my luggage again since i'm going to Colombia or the luggage will go by themself to Colombia from miami?

Yes, in Philadelphia you will collect your baggage to go through US Customs then re-check it at the transfer desk. You will not have to do anything with it in Miami.

Hi, we are flying on Ukraine International arriving at 13:45 we have a connecting flight at 15:45 on jet blue. Is there enough time to make the connection? Tickets were bought separately

That will be very difficult. The Ukraine International flights are frequently delayed and you will have to clear Immigration and Customs and take your bags on the AirTrain to Terminal 5 and check them all in 1 hour.

Hello I have my flight going from Paris to Quito through Miami and I was wondering if in Miami I had to collect my luggage and drop it again? Or will the luggage go straight to Quito (Ecuador)?

Since you are on an International to International connection, AA policy at MIA is that you do not have to claim your bags to go through US Customs. However, confirm that with the AA agents in Paris and Miami.

My daughter will be flying into the PHA on Tues from MOntreal. She will have checked bags do they go straight through to her final destination which is the Pittsburgh airport.?

Yes, she will go through US Immigration and Customs in Montreal and won't have to do anything with her bags again until she gets to Pittsburgh.

  • Flying in from San Diego and going through to Toronto

Hey there, I fly in from San Diego and arrive in IAD at 9:05 Pm. I then need to catch my flight to Toronto which leaves at 10:08 PM. Is this enough time? I'm just not sure if I need to go through customs/immigration and re-check in bags when I arrive in IAD. Thanks!

You do not go through US Immigration when leaving the US. All you have to di is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You have enough time.

  • LAX terminal change

I am on a flight coming from PHX to LAX arriving at 7:08 am (terminal 4), however my connection flight is in Terminal 6 and it departs at 8:10 am. The kicker is that I have to check in because I'm switching airline. Do I need to be concerned?

What airlines are you flying? If you do have to collect and re-check your baggage you won't have enough time. If you won't have checked bags you can do it if you check in online before you leave Phoenix.

  • connection from T1 to T3 in 1 hour

I am coming from Florence(Italy) in Alitalia and landing on terminal 1 at 19:45 pm. I have connecting flight Emirates to Dubai at 20:45 pm from terminal 3. I need to know if i need to claim the baggage ? how much time security check would take ? Is it possible to make everything in 1 hours. Appreciate your help.

i really need to know above questions answer,

If you purchased your tickets together you have enough time as your bags will be transferred to Emirates, you just need to RUN to the Emirates transfer desk. If you purchased two separate tickets you have no chance, you need to get an earlier flight to Rome.

Thanks ZAP. I have got the tickets together so my bags got transferred to final place. The moment i got down at domestic i started running and reached to skybus 7-8 mins (terminal signs are very clear, no need to ask) then 5 mins in passport control, Pretty much 15 mins i reached to emirates desk where i got the actual boarding pass and was in front of boarding gate. People kept coming i believe next 30 mins. So 1 hour is sufficient unless something happens unexpectedly

Is 62 minutes enough time to make my connection from LEX Bluegrass thru DFW to Incheon Seoul, Korea?

Yes, it should be enough time. All you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. The Skylink train connects all terminals inside security.

I will be flying from MSP to Newark - transfer time 1H10mins for an international flight to LON with United, is this enough time?

Yes, that should be enough time. Your flight from Minneapolis may arrive in Terminal A, if so, there is a shuttle bus inside security to Terminal C where your flight to London will depart.

Flying United from Indianapolis in January. Arrive at O'Hare at 11:20 AM at Terminal 2. Connecting flight on United to LAX is in Terminal 1 at 12:06 PM. 1) Is it faster to walk between terminals or take the shuttle listed on the United Map for O'Hare? We have a group of 7 people total. 2) Do we need to deal with TSA if we take either of these options? Thank you

It's fastest to walk, it's not that far. Both connections run inside security.

Hi, I will be flying from SJO to MIA, and from MIA to Buenos Aires with American. I have a 2 hour stop in MIA, Is that enough time to go through inmigration, claim and drop bags and get the next plane?

Yes, that should be enough time. Since you are on an International to International connection you will not have to claim your bags in Miami, just go through US Immigration and Customs.

We're flying from BRU to JFK T4 and need to transit to T2 for a connecting flight to SFO. I suppose we need to clear customs (visa waiver), collect lugage, transfer terminal, recheck lugage, clear customs again. Is this doable in 1h50?

Flights to SFO leave from Terminal 4. You will arrive in T4, go through US Immigration, claim your baggage, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the transfer desk, then go up to the departure level and through security and to your departure gate. You have enough time.

  • Terminal 4 to 2 and luggage?

Hello all, Flying tomorrow and could use a bit or guidance. We arrive at terminal 4 with 2.5 hours layover from London then going to terminal 2 for a flight to phoenix. I booked the tickets in the same booking. The first leg is virgin, second is Delta. First, is that enough time to get through immigration and changing terminals? Second, what about my bags? I've been told two different things from the airline so not sure. Do we have to pick up our bags or just not worry about them and should be in phoenix at the end? Last, do we go back through security in terminal 4 or leave the building to get a shuttle to terminal 2 and go through security again there? Thanks for any help!

You will arrive in Terminal 4, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, then re-check your bags at the transfer desk, then look at the monitors, your flight to Phoenix could depart from Terminal 2 or 4. If it leaves from 4 just go through security there. If it leaves from 2, you can go through security in 4, then take a shuttle bus to 2, or take the AirTrain to Terminal 2 and go through security there.

Thanks, Do you think 2.5 hours is enough time? Is the bus or train option faster?

Yes, that should be enough time. The Train is a tad faster (more walking, less waiting) the bus is more waiting, less walking.

  • FRA to SJO via DFW Connection Time 1:10 hours

(Jan. 17th, 2015): Frankurt to san Jose, Costa Rica - American Airline #71 arriving in Dallas at 15:05 - departure to San José flight #2442 at 16:15 with only 70 mins connection Time, all Terminal D. Will I make it, what could I to do make it? Thanks Markus

It will be difficult but it's possible. Since you're on an International to International itinerary, you should not have to claim your baggage before going to though customs, but confirm that with the AA agents in FRA and DFW. You will have to hurry.

  • Connection time in Denver for Toronto to Orange County trip
    Dec 11, 2014

My mother is travelling from Toronto via Denver to Orange County (John Wayne) with a connection time of 55 minutes on Dec. 21. Is this connection time long enough? Here flights are with Air Canada and United. She walks slowly due to a knee condition. Any information about arrival and departure terminals would be welcome as well. Thank you!

If both her flights are on United they will both be on the B concourse. She has plenty of time.
