  • Best way to get to Terminal E from Terminal C
    May 27, 2015
    1
I arriving at DFW from HNL at Terminal C on American Airlines. My next filight is with US Airways and departs from terminal E. What is the best way to travel to Terminal E from Terminal C. This is my first time at DFW and I am not familiar with the airport at all.

All terminals are connected inside security by the SkyLink Train. Just follow signs to the SkyLink and then take the train that says it is going the correct direction to E. Also, HNL-DFW flights can also arrive in Terminal D, so don't get thrown off if that happens. The SkyLink can still take you where you need to go.

I am meeting a friend that is flying in from Milan on Emirates arriving Terminal 4. I am going to have him take the train back with me. Where can I meet him? Could I meet him at baggage claim?

The international baggage claim is in a secure area between immigration and customs. You can meet him at the exit of customs on the lower level of Terminal 4.

  • Someone stole my ID!!
    May 27, 2015

Next week my boyfriend graduates from Marine bootcamp training. Last night someone stole my wallet which had all my money and the most important thing to get on the plane; MY ID!! I never went on a plane before and I honestly am not sure if they'll let me fly or not. I was wondering if someone could give me some advice and tell me if there's anythig else I can do.

Bring everything you reasonably can with your name on it. If you have a student or employer ID with your photo on that, bring that.

Thank you so much! My student ID was stolen in my wallet to but I have my social security card and birth certificate. Is that enough?

It helps. Anything with your picture and name on it would help more though.

I am a non US citizen travelling from Rome to Miami by Alitalia landing at 1545. My nect connection is on a different flight at 1710 Caribbean airlines. Is there enough time according to you

85 minutes is not a realistic transfer time between two international flights on two unrelated foreign airlines at Miami.

I fly into Detroit on Air France from Austin at 8:55 pm and my connecting flight leaves for Paris also on Air France at 9:35 pm - very short time to get to my next flight - will I make it and do I need to re-check my baggage

All you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You don't have to do anything with your baggage. You have enough time if your first flight is on-time.

We are US citizens leaving the US for London for 5 days, then on to Paris for 4 days. We will go thru customs in London, but will we have to go thru customs again in Paris?

You will go through Passport control when you go to Paris either at the Paris airport (if flying), on the train (if taking the train), or at the ferry dock (if taking a ferry).

  • Re-checking luggage or not?

Hi. I'm not a US Citizen, I'm flying from Curacao to Miami then to Atlanta (both flights with American Airlines). Do I need to claim my luggage and then re-check it, or is this not necessary? Thanks!

Yes, in Miami you will go through US Immigration, claim your baggage, go through US Customs, Re-check your bags at the transfer desk, then go through security and to your departure gate.

Do I have to go back through security in order to go from Terminal 1 to TBIT at LAX? If so, how long does it usually take on a Wednesday or normal day? Thanks!

Yes, you will have to go through security in the TBIT. If you have checked bags you will also have to claim them from Southwest in T1 and bring them with you to the TBIT to re-check. Security lines in the TBIT are generally not too bad (5-10 minutes, but varies greatly by time of day).

I am flying from bangor, to detroit to france to shanghai. I only have an hour and 50 minutes in paris to get to my gate. I'm pretty I'm going through the same terminal, but do I have to go through customs or security in paris? is that enough time? thanks!

Since you are not entering the Schengen Area and both flights are on Air France/Delta you should not have to go through passport control in Paris. You will likely have to go through Security. You should have enough time.

  • Changing Airlines after Customs
    May 21, 2015

Hi, I will be flying from Brussels to ORD and then changing airlines (separate ticket) to my final destination. Will I have to go out to general ticketing, recheck and go through security again or can I check into my next flight within security?

You will arrive in Terminal 5, go through US Immigration, claim your bags and go through US Customs. You will then be outside security on the lower level of Terminal 5. Your next step depends on what airline you are taking for your next flight. What airline are you taking and where are you going? I hope you left at least 2.5 hours between flights.

Hi, I am arriving on AA (operated by JAL) at 11.40 AM from Tokyo. My connecting flight is on AA (operated by mesa airlines as american eagle) to phoenix at 02.05 PM. Should I go through immigration and would i have enough time to catch the flight to PHX? thanks (first time being in the u.s.)

Yes, upon arrival in LAX you will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the transfer desk, then go to Terminal 4, go through security, then you will likely have to take the shuttle bus to the American Eagle satellite terminal. You barely have enough time.

wow okay now I'm worried. Any suggestions to speed things up?

but the jal flight and the mesa air flight is within one reservation. Wouldn't they transfer the bags for me?

They do transfer your bags for you - from the re-check desk in the International Terminal to your Mesa flight. You have to claim your bags to go through US Customs when entering the United States. There's really nothing you can do to speed up the process other than not wasting any time and moving as quickly as you can.

    Thank you!

Hello, please advise. I have a relative landing into Terminal 4 around 3:30 PM. He is traveling in a student group from Israel. How much time should I allow after the plane is scheduled to land for him to get through Customs and Immigration?

45 minutes to an hour, assuming the flight is on-time.
