  • Layover

Hi I'm going to DALLAS FT WORTH from Chicago Ohare soon! I'm going to Mexico! I have the layover at Dallas and I only have 30 minutes to get to my next flight to take me to Mexico. My first question is if anyone can assist me to get to my other terminal when I land in Dallas. First time traveling by myself and I only have 30 minutes to catch my flight! Pretty stressful! I know they can help you if you're a kid but I'm 18! My second question is if I have to pick up my luggage after I arrive to Dallas? My final question is if I could tell anyone in the airplane while heading to Dallas to help me get to my next flight because I only have 30 minutes to catch my flight!!! Someone please help!

You won't have to do anything with your baggage in Dallas. All you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. The Skylink train connects all terminals inside security. You should have enough time if your first flight is on-time.

  • Help with luggage at baggage claim (Terminal E) to arrival area.

Hello, I will be traveling from UK to Boston with a lot of luggage (including skis) and would like to know if there are skycaps or porters that can assist me with all my luggage to the pick up area. If so, is there a phone number to arrange ahead of time or are they readily available?

  • is one hour enough time to get from southwest to alaska air

arriving on southwest air may 10th 1:40 pm .. flight to victoria bc on Alaska Air leaves at 2:20 . This gives an hour to get to AA flight, is this enough time? thanks

That's only 40 minutes. It's possible if you have no checked bags, but impossible if you have checked bags. You will need to check in for your Alaska flight online before you depart on your first flight. If there's any delay you will miss your connection and Alaska Airlines will be of no obligation to rebook you.

thanks so much for your help ZAP, and for the math correction! and for the reminder that AA has no obligation to rebook for me. be well

Hi, i am really stressed. I am travelling from norway and i am only 18 years old. Never been on such a bog airport as chicago. I will arrive at terminal 5 at 6.25pm... and i will have a next føight that will fly at 8.15pm.... so my question is. Will i make it?

You have enough transfer time. On arrival at ORD - at Interntional Terminal 5, you need to go through passport check, retrieve checked bags, go through customs clearance & re-check-in bag where indicated; then proceed up one level to the Airport Transit System (ATS) station and take the ATS train, which runs every few minutes, to your connecting terminal, where you need to go through security check before proceeding to your connecting gate. IF YOU BOUGHT YOUR 2 FLIGHTS ON ONE TICKET, your bags will automatically be transferred, if not (and your connecting flights is not a code-share flight between 2 airlines) you would need to take your bag first to the connecting airline counter & re-check it in there before boarding the ATS train. I suggest you open www.ifly.com/ord then click on 'Terminal Map' under 'QUICK LINKS', and scroll down to the detailed text.

If you provide me with what airlines you are flying and where you are flying to I can provide you with more detailed instructions/advice.

  • Layover time

Hi. I am wanting to book a flight with United from Austin to London Heathrow (domestic - international) via Houston on a Friday night. Is 1 hour enough time for a layover if the flight is on time? WIll I need to change tereminals?

At IAH, United uses Terminals A, B, C & E - reached by the above-ground TerminaLink train inside security - you have enough time for transfer.

You will likely arrive in Terminal B or C and depart from Terminal E.

I'm familiar with PHX airport and at 64 years old find the sprint between 'fingers" of Terminal 4 almost impossible to make. How do I arrange to ride on one of those passenger cars that are always beep-beeping their way through the terminal? Thanks

You need to call your airline and request wheelchair assistance.

I don't need a wheelchair. I need a faster method to get to my gate in the 30 minutes I have and am not up to running the entire length of Terminal 4. My last flight they were going to close the doors on me when I finally got to my gate but I insisted. I'm interested in those golf cart type vehicles that have a driver and carry maybe 4-6 people.

Yes, those carts are for people who require wheelchair assistance.

I will take AA from Toronto to MIA airport 1:30 pm and my cruise Embarkation time is 5:00 pm ,cruise disembarkation time is 7:00am and my flight will be 10:00 am ,can I make it?

You should have plenty of time if your flight to Miami is on-time. However, you will have a really hard time making that 10 AM return flight.

    Thx,

i'm flying from MEX to LHR, with a stop of 1hr 40 in YYZ, with Air Canada. do i have to recheck my bags and go through security before going to my departure gate? Thank you!

YYZ Allows sterile international connections - you won't have to do anything with your bag and should have plenty of time. https://www.aircanada.com/en/travelinfo/airport/images/yyz.pdf

  • how early should I leave airport Marriott for flight to Guatemala
    Apr 3, 2014

I will arrive at IAH on United from Denver around 1:30am and don't need to catch my next flight on United to Guatemala City until 9:30am. I am planning to spend the night at the airport Marriott but am wondering what time I should leave the hotel in order to have enough time to go back through security and get to my terminal and catch the 9:30 flight. Thanks.

I would leave at about 8:30 if you are able to check in online and 8 if you are not.

  • Time needed before flight

Hi, I have a flight out of Detroit to Nashville on a Friday at 7am. If I'm not checking any bags, just a carry-on, about what time do I need to arrive to the airport by? Thanks!

If you check-in online you could get to the airport about 45 minutes before your flight since then all you will need to do is go through security and to your gate.

Thank you! Does it not take them a long time to search through your carry-on? I've never packed all of my things into a carry-on suitcase before. Thanks again

Your carry-on should not have to be searched unless you pack something that you're not allowed to carry.

  • Passport Control and US Customs

I am keeping my baggage all carry-on. No baggage claim. I am a US citizen, returning from vacation in Peru through MIA. My connecting flight is American Airlines to my final destination, SFO. (San Francisco) According to the MIA map, I arrive at MIA on LAN in the South Terminal. I depart on American Airlines in the North Terminal. I have two hours and 5 minutes between flights to clear Passport Control and US Customs. Even without baggage claim, I might not make it. My questions: Can I choose which terminal to be processed through -- since I have no bags to claim? The MIA website says only: "International arriving passengers will proceed to U.S. Customs and Border Protection's passport control. After clearing passport control, passengers will proceed to collect baggage and clear U.S. Customs." That's very clear. BUT: Since I have no baggage to claim, can I just go over to NorthTerminal and get processed there? I may be wrong but I have a feeling North Terminal may be faster/easier than SouthTerminal and I have to end up at North Terminal for my departure anyway. Thanks!

No, you have to clear immigration and customs in the South Terminal since you will be funneled that way, there will be no other option. By carrying on the only thing you skip is having to stop at the baggage claim and re-check desk.

  • Non checked thro' flight, non-Schengen to non-Schengen

Upon arriving at Schipol, I will need to collect my baggage as it cannot be 'checked through' to my destination. After doing so, will I be required to pass thro' Immigration/Customs and then repeat to re-enter OR It is possible to collect my baggage and proceed directly to my next departure area?

Non-Schengen to non-Schengen flights don't require immigration proceedings. Pick up your bag on arrival, check it in with connecting airline, go through security check and on to your connecting gate.

Many thanks 'sumar14'! Your answer is exactly what I wanted and has prevented any problems upon arriving at Schipol. Now if only Schipol etc could be so efficient and as responsive?

Where do I meet an international arriving passenger in terminal D? This person speaks no English.

The exit of immigration on the arrivals level would be the best place.
