Wheelchair assistanceFeb 15, 201310I am arriving from Abu Dhabi and need to clear customs then go to American Airlines to check a bag to Boston. Will the person assisting me off the plane with a wheelchair at Etihad Airways be able to bring me all the way to terminal 8 to check in with AA and then to my gate?JHLposted on Thu, Feb 14At the JFK site there is very little information as to how to terminal transfer with a wheelchair. The only connection between the Emirates Terminal 4 & AA Terminal 8 is the Airline Terminals Train, which does not allow baggage carts onboard - therefore I doubt that you could use that. My suggestion would be to take a wheel-chair accessible taxi or shuttle over to your connecting terminal 8. Then ask the SkyCap to get you to the AA check-in counter and on to your gate.frfeb13posted on Fri, Feb 15

International helpFeb 8, 201320Hello. I am planing on flying my mom from Poland to New York to visit me this year. She does not speak English and she is terrified to be on her own at the airport, she is afraid she will not know where to go or she will not know what the guards want from her. She would need to be picked up from the plane and walked to the right gate, and somebody would need to make sure she filled out all the paper work. Is there any company that has contract with JFK that help passengers like that.MVposted on Fri, Feb 8Make sure that her round trip to JFK will be on non-stop, same-airline flights. All she needs to worry about then is how to get through Customs - and that is no problem. When completing the customs form on the plane on way to New York, she can ask for assistance from other travelers or the flight attendant. On arrival at JFK, she will follow all other passengers to get through passport check, collect her bags and go through customs clearance showing her completed questionnaire. You will be at the other side of the secured area to meet her. I suggest you open www.ifly.com/jfk, then click on 'Terminal Map' under QUICK LINKS and scroll down to the detailed text.frjan13posted on Fri, Feb 8

assistance for seniorsFeb 6, 201310My elderly mom will be transferring in FRA from a USAIRWAYS flight from PHL and transferring on a LOT flight to Warsaw. She can get quite confused in new surrounding so I was wondering if there is a service where someone can meet her at the arrival gate and escort her through passport control all the way to the gate for the flight to WAW? Thank youweb2094posted on Tue, Feb 5First contact USAirways if they will transfer her bags to the LOT connecting flight - if not, the bags would have to be claimed at the baggage claim level, and re-checked in at the departures level with LOT. On Arrival at Frankfurt Airport, your mom will be processed at Area A (signs will guide her) where she will have to go through passport control. Both US Airways & LOT use the same Terminal 1 - LOT uses Concourse/Pier A (T1A) and US Airways T1C. Pier A gates are now divided into left-side gates A1-42 and right-side gates A50-69. Contact both airlines for wheelchair assistance. If that is too late, your mom needs to alert the flight attendant of her requirement, so that someone will be there at the arrivals gate with a wheelchair.wejan13posted on Wed, Feb 6
