  • Can I arrive at CDG with my dog in hold on the weekend?
    Dec 2, 2014

Will the CDG process the arrival of my dog in hold on Saturday or Sunday? If so, is there an extra charge?

You will have to contact them.

I'm completely new to flying so any helpful information would be appreciated. My flight is from Toronto to Detroit on delta and then I have to transfer to air france for a flight to Paris in 45 minutes. Will my bags be automatically transferred when the air lines are different or will I have to pick them up and take them to the departure gate?

On your way to Paris you will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Toronto. All you have to do in Minneapolis is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. Your bags will be tagged through to Paris.

Sorry, that's all you have to do in Detroit, not Minneapolis.

  • International Layover in Chicago
    Dec 1, 2014

I'm flying from London, Ont to Sarasota, FL with a layover in Chicago on January 3rd. My flight is at 6:30 in the morning and I get into Chicago at 7am. I know London is a small airport so it doesn't have a precheck.. I have a 1 hour and 38 minutes layover in Chicaco. Will this be enough time? I'm worried because it's the holidays. My dad has taken this exact flight before and had no issues but I'm worried as its the holidays and I'm travelling alone. Do I go through a special immigrations line because I have a connecting flight or is there only one line? Thanks!

Also I'm flying with United and I'm not checking any baggage if that makes a difference, just bringing a carry on!

Yes, that should be enough time. There is only one immigration line, although there is an express line if you don't have checked baggage. Immigration is not crowded at that time early in the morning.

hello, I will be flying through MSP from Vancouver Canada and onwards to Amsterdam with Delta airlines all the way through. My connection time in MSP is 52 minutes and i'm wondering what my chances are of making this connection.? I am flying on Dec 23

At Vancouver AP go through U.S. Customs clearance - arriving at MSP as a 'domestic arrival'. Once you understand the layout of the gate areas /concourses, you will make your transfer in time. Therefore, I suggest you open www.ifly.com/msp, click on 'Terminal Map' under QUICK LINKS, then scroll down past the map to "Lindbergh Terminal, and read details of 'upper level' (as Delta is in all concourses, except Concourse E.

Yes, you have enough time if your first flight is on-time. All you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

  • Bringing puppy?

We'll be bringing our puppy from the breeder in Toronto, Canada, to Dulles. Because he will be less than 4 months old, we have received approval from the CDC for a confinement agreement. Do we need any other documentation? A vet report or health certificate? Any tips so we can get on the road home to Maryland without crisis, such as having the puppy taken from us?

  • YYZ -> DTW -> CVG

Hi, I am travelling from YYZ to CVG, with a layover at DTW. I am on a B visa. I am also a Canadian PR holder. Do I have to go through Immigration at DTW? Also, my layover time is 48 mins, will that be sufficient time to go through all the procedures? Thanks.

You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Toronto. In Detroit all you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. Yes, 48 mins is enough time to do that if your first flight is on-time.

  • short connection time

We are traveling from Calgary Canada to Amsterdam and have a 50 minute layover at O'hare. Is it possible to make our connection? We go through US customs in Canada and don't go through customs till we land in Amsterdam. We will also only have carry on bags.

If both of your flights are on the same airline it should be enough time as long as your first flight is on-time. If your flight to Amsterdam is on KLM it will be more difficult.

We are flying United for both flights

Yes, then that should be fine, all you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

  • Question on Delta "Legal Connection"
    Nov 23, 2014
    1
My family of five is traveling this Christmas morning from Indianapolis to Puerto Vallarta via Atlanta. We arrive in Atlanta at 9:03 am and our flight to Puerto Vallarta departs Atlanta at 9:57 am. Delta assures us this is a "legal connection", but I am concerned about making the connection. I am not that familiar with the Atlanta airport and also don't know what to expect on Christmas morning. Can anyone offer guidance? Thank you!

Christmas morning isn't usually extraordinarily busy. All you have to do is take the Plane train from your arrival concourse to your departure concourse E or F. You have enough time.

  • Meeting someone during layover at IAH
    Nov 21, 2014

My friend will be flying on United Airlines from Gulfport, Mississippi to Houston, Texas on December 21. She will fly on flight UA4588. Her flight arrives in Houston at 7:57 AM, and then she will fly out at 11:25 AM that morning. We plan to meet during this time, which is the reason for her long layover. Arriving in Terminal A that morning, where would be the place to meet her at? I will not be going through security as I will not be flying, so I need somewhere to meet that is outside security. She will need to head back through security and get to Terminal B to catch her departing flight. I have 2 questions: a) Where does she go after arriving in Terminal A to meet me? b) Where do I go after parking to go meet her? Thank you very much for any help!

Im traveling from London to Panama in a connecting United flight. just have 85 minutes to do everything: Customs, Passport. change terminal. No bags to pick or recheck What do you think, am I going to make it.

I think it's barely enough time if your first flight is on-time.

No way! You need a lot more time then that!!

  • How long is suggested for connected flights
    Nov 19, 2014

Hi i'm looking at flights for my family vacation and i was wondering if 45 mins at ORD is long enough for a connecting flight?

If both flights are domestic and on the same airline it is, but it doesn't leave much of a cushion for delays.
