  • Lost Sony camera

My exchange student lost her Sony camera on her way back to Japan. I believe her flight left late on Sunday Aug. 25. I can Identify her, in the pictures, also many of the pic are or food and stores. It was in a black case, with a long loop to go around the neck.

You need to contact her airline's lost & found department.

I lost my passport yesterday at the Dallas Airport in Terminal C yesterday 8/28/2013

While in general, passports lost inside terminals are turned over to TSA security, items lost at DFW are handled by Travelers Aid (tel. 1-972-973-5050 for Terminal B (TB) or tel. 1-972-973-5050 for TD. TC Lost & Found is only for American Airlines (tel. 972-425-2465, e-mail

  • Where do I pick up my Dog?
    Aug 26, 2013
Flying on Lufthansa w/pet in cargo arriving DTW. Where do I pick up my dog?

You can ask the Lufthansa agent that greets your flight when it arrives, but I assume it will be delivered after immigration but before customs, directly to you (not on the belt).

  • International Connection from Asia to Mexico City
    Aug 26, 2013
I have a friend that will be traveling out of Asia for the first time. He does not have a US visa and is nervous about having a connecting flight in LAX. He will be traveling from probably Tokyo or Shanghi through LAX to Mexico city. He may have a 12 hour delay in LAX. If he is traveling without a US visa, is he going to have issues with the connecting flight in LAX? Will he have to go through customs even though his destination is not in the US?

He needs to get a US Transit Visa. Yes, any time you enter the US you have to go through US immigration, even if you are connecting to another country.

  • Bag transfer help for single parent with baby
    Aug 25, 2013
Hello, I am flying from Stockholm to San Diego and will transfer in Chicago. Is there a service that will help transfer by bags though customs? I'm not sure how I will handle my luggage and manage an infant.

On arrival at ORD in Terminal 5, Concourse M and will proceed to passport check, pick up your bags and go through customs clearance & re-check in your bags. In that area are free baggage trolleys - do not hesitate to ask for assistance be it the airport volunteers with the sign 'May I Help You', any airport or airline personnel or the passengers. Your connecting terminal / concourse / gate depends on your airline. After baggage re-check-in, proceed up one level to catch the ATS train to your connecting terminal. I suggest you open then click on 'Terminal Map' under 'QUICK LINKS', and scroll down to the detailed text.

You cannot take the baggage trolleys on the ATS Train. If you let us know what airline you're flying to San Diego we can tell you what terminal your departing flight will depart from.

  • Flying ST.Louis to Phil to Munich
    Aug 24, 2013
I arrive Oct 9 @ 17:11 Terminal F. I depart for Munich @ 18:30 Terminal A. My first question is, will I have enough time to get through customs and make my flight? Second question is, do I take the secure shuttle from terminal F to terminal A? Third question is, do I have to recheck my baggage or is it automatically done for me?

Yes, you need to take the secure shuttle from F to A and should have enough time if your first flight is on-time. You won't have to do anything with your baggage.

  • where come through customs
    Aug 23, 2013
I am picking someone up who is flying from Korea into DTW. He will then transfer to a flight to Philadelphia. Where will he come through customs (I am trying to figure out if I meet him at customs in Philadelphia or will he be coming in through normal baggage claim)

He will clear immigration in Detroit. His arrival into Philadelphia will be at the domestic baggage claim for whatever airline he is flying.

  • Terminal connections and baggage handling
    Aug 25, 2013
I am a student and I am traveling from Hong Kong to Chicago O'Hare airport on Aug 30th. The ticket shows its terminal 5 on landing. Then I will connect to flight to Boston within 2.5 hours in terminal 3. Can you tell me when I will do the custom check? Do I need to get my baggage for custom check? If so, when will I do that? How do I get to terminal 3? Where do I re-check-in my baggage? Thanks!

I'm assuming you're flying Cathay Pacific from Hong Kong and American to Boston and your tickets were bought on one reservation? If so, you will arrive in Terminal 5, go through US Immigration, then claim your baggage, then go through customs, then you can re-check your baggage right afterwards. You'll then go upstairs to the ATS train and take it one stop from Terminal 5 to Terminal 3 and go back through security.

Thanks. Just to clarify that I re-check my baggage in terminal 5. Am I correct? And how could I know where to re-check? Is it the same baggage claim area I first pick up my baggage after landing?

It's just outside customs in Terminal 5.

  • Baggage claim for ALL airlines at same place?
    Aug 20, 2013
Members of our party are arriving at 3 different terminals. How do we find out the arrival gate and is the baggage claim area the same for all airlines within the US? Delta, United, American

No, each terminal has its own baggage claim. Delta will arrive in A. United could arrive in A or C depending on the origin of the flight, and American will arrive in B.

  • Help, cats will be travelling with me to Chicago from Mexico.
    Aug 20, 2013
I need information on requirements for the import of pet cats. So far, I am meeting the airlines requirements, such as transportation fees and the vet's health certificate, but I have not received a reply from Midway on further fees I may need to pay at the port of entry. I'd like to know if I have to pay for a health inspection,or an import permit. I am also concerned about whether my cats will be taken elsewhere for the inspection and if they'll be detained for days. Any help is welcomed.

There are no federal requirements for Cats - and no state requirements - Therefore you'll be fine as long as you meet the airline's requirements.

Thank you. Does that mean I won't be charged for any international animal health permits? I am particularly confused by the following information on the APHIS website- Do these fees not apply to me?

  • Missing my purse
    Aug 17, 2013
Purse including personal dokuments named on Schwarz, Austria. Please contact in case of finding:

Depending on the Airport, most of them in the U.S. turn over passports, etc. to the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). If you state the Airport, I may be able to give you a contact information.

  • Domestic traveller meeting up with international traveller
    Aug 16, 2013
I will flying in from Atlanta on Delta and my cousin is flying from Brisbane, Australia on Qantas. Our flights arrive within 30 minutes of each other. What is the easiest place for us to meet?

What Airport? LAX? You can meet at the "Theme" building in the center of the airport or you can go to the ground level of Terminal 4 where international arrivals exit (you will be arriving in Terminal 5)

Sorry, we are flying in to JFK.

You most likely will arrive at Terminal 2 as a domestic arrival, while your cousin will arrive at the Delta Terminal 4, where he/she needs to pick up bags and go through customs clearance. Best meeting place would be in on the Arrivals level, in front of the information counter.

(Reply by fraug13) You most likely will arrive at Terminal 2 as a domestic arrival, while your cousin will arrive at the Delta Terminal 4, where he/she needs to pick up bags and go through customs clearance. Best meeting place would be in on the Arrivals level, in front of the information counter. While Delta shuttles passengers gate-to-gate between T2 & T4, you need to take the continuously running 'Airline Terminals' train serving all terminals, but running counter-clockwise.

Arriving Hawaiian Air at 10:15pm at International do I make 11:10pm for Virgin Ai Terminal 2/

Take the AirTrain and run and check in for your Virgin America flight online before you leave Hawaii (preferably on your smartphone) as you will probably get to T2 after the check-in cutoff.

Need help for quickest way to get from arrival gate to Dollar rental car place.

If you arrive in concourse T you just follow the signs to the car rental counters. All other concourses, you will take the Plane Train to the domestic terminal if arriving on a domestic flight and then go up the escalator at the station and the car rental counters are the first thing you see (if you need to go to the counter). If you can go directly to your car, you take the ATL SkyTrain from the Terminal to the consolidated rental car facility. It's about a 5 minute ride.
