  • ? about coming off for a layover
    May 13, 2014
I am going to be flying Delta 5133 from YHZ-LGA for a 21/2 hour layover then catching Delta 1485 to go to MCO, do I have to pick my luggage up and go through security again or do they automatically transfer my luggage to delta 1485

Delta should automatically transfer your luggage. You will pre-clear US Immigration and customs in Halifax. All you have to do in LGA is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You will not have to go through security.

    Thank you for the information:)

  • Clearing Customs - Cozumel to DFW to LAX
    May 10, 2014
I'm flying back from Cozumel with a 2 hour layover in DFW, will that be enough time to make my connecting flight to LAX? I'll arrive DFW at 8PM on Sun, Jul 6th and I'm concerned since it's a holiday weekend (although late evening) that 2 hours may not be enough time?

On arrival at DFW you need to go through passport check, pick up bags, go through customs clearance, then re-check-n your bags & get to your connecting domestic terminal. I suggest you open then click on 'Terminal Map' under 'QUICK LINKS', and scroll down to the detailed text.

  • Connecting from Hawaiian to US Air
    May 9, 2014
Need to get from Hawaiian(Terminal 3) to US Air(Terminal 4); claim baggage and re-check in at US Air. Arrive 10 pm Depart 11:59 pm. Do we have enough time? Tips?

Yes, that should be enough time if your hawaiian flight is on-time. You can check-in online for your US Airways flight before you leave Hawaii.

  • transfer time allowance?
    May 9, 2014
I will be arriving at 2:20 pm, July 17, from Vienna on Austrian Air. My next flight is United to Charlotte at 4:50 pm. I will have a checked bag. Is this enough tiime? What will be the procedure? Thanks!

Yes, that should be enough time. You will clear US Immigration in the International Arrivals Building, then claim your baggage, go through US Customs, then re-check your bag with United as it should already be tagged through to Charlotte. You will then follow the signs to the departures area, go through security and then to your departure gate on concourse A, C, or D via the mobile lounge or aerotrain.

  • Transferring Planes at CDG
    May 8, 2014
Arriving from Detroit at 2E transferring planes to Athens at 2F. Do I need to go thru customs again. Can I walk to next terminal--how long to walk. How do I get there. Have 1 hr 50 min. to accomplish.

At CDG , T2E has a new pedestrian path to T2F - no customs needed.

  • How do I connect with another party?
    May 5, 2014
My friend and I are both flying internationally to JFK: She from Canada, Me from central asis. We fly in within 2 hours of each other to different terminals. We need to meet up as we are attending the same conference in NY. She flys into terminal 8 and I fly into 1. We will both have to go through customs etc. Where is a good place to meet at the airport after we have each gotten our luggage and taken care of immagration? I will have to wait for her for a couple of hours, so the more comfortable the better.

If she is flying from Canada she will probably pre-clear US Immigration in Canada, not in JFK. Try to meet her in the baggage claim level of her arrival terminal.

  • Terminal 1 Immigration wait times
    May 5, 2014
I will be arriving in Terminal 1 at 8 pm on a Wednesday. Does anybody have an idea of how long the waiting time for getting through immigrations and customs could be?

  • Elderly Mother Arriving at International Terminal
    May 27, 2014
My mother is arriving from over seas. She is wheel chair bound. She is going to have 2 large bags with her. Is there any way that I can get into the international baggage claim area to help her with the luggage. If not, how can I get her help.

No, you cannot. If she has wheelchair service they should assist with her bags until she exits customs.

elderly father is arriving from Louisiana on united airlines where can I pick him up?

  • baggage claim
    May 5, 2014
how long will baggage claim take when i'm flying in domestic?

It depends on the airline, terminal, and time of day, but generally 15-30 minutes.

  • T3-T1
    May 4, 2014
I'm arriving from SFO to LAX on Virgin America at 6:50pm. I have an unconnected flight on South West departing at 8:15. I will be going to through baggage claim and checking in 2 bags at South West. Do you think I would have enough time to make it to my next flight? Does South West have any kind of service like they come and pick you up and take you asap so you don't miss the flight??

If you bought your flights on one ticket, your bags will automatically be transferred after customs clearance and baggage re-check-in. If not, you need to contact both Southwest & Virgin airlines as to their baggage transfer policy. If they don't transfer, you need to take your bag to Terminal 1 & check it in with Southwest. T1 & T2 are close together - you can walk between the terminals, but you need to go through security check before getting to your connecting gate.

Ignore sumay - his advice is worthless. It will be very difficult to make your transfer. No, southwest will not assist you in making your transfer.

  • Traveling from Peru to Seattle through MIA
    May 1, 2014
I am going to be traveling from Lima, Peru to Seattle, WA with a connection through MIA on Sept 20th. My LAN flight from Peru arrives at 7:50 am at Concourse J. The Delta flight to Seattle leaves at 10:15 am from Concourse H. Is 2 hrs going to be enough time for me to clear customs and passport control? I'm a US citizen and will only have carry on luggage. Thank you so very much for your help!

Please note that Delta does not fly from Miami to Seattle. The only airline that flies there nonstop is American.

Thank you so much! Yes, unfortunately, AA isn't a preferred airline for me, so I chose to have an hour layover in Atlanta on the way back. Would you have any suggestions regarding the time frame I listed? Thank you again!

OK, you should have plenty of time, especially considering you won't have checked baggage.

    Wonderful! Thank you so much!

  • Connecting from Victoria
    Apr 23, 2014
If you are travelling from victoria to uk, on Air Canada, have all your boarding passes, and have checked your baggage through, would you need to leave the secure area when connecting to flights and be processed through security again.

No, you can just walk to the international departures section of the airport (they will check to see that you have an international boarding pass to be allowed inside).

  • Need info on disabled traveling alone
    Jul 26, 2014
I can not get any info please help. I am disabled, flying with my cat from Midway to McAllen Tx. I am flying alone and there is no one here to help me once I get to the airport with my luggage. Does Midway have a service for disabled people that helps them with getting the luggage to the check in ? Thank you for any info.

For wheelchair assistance you need to call your airline 24 hrs prior to departure, so that someone will be outside at curb helping you all the way to the gate. Also find out about their pet policy. If you can put your cat (in kennel) in front of your feet inside the plane - it would not cost you extra & would be more humane for the cat (you can also find airline info regarding wheelchairs and pets on your computer (www. airline 2. As to Terminal service, ask for the 'Purple Airplane Sticker from any Airport or Security staff -and trained Airport volunteers will be happy to assist you. Both the Garage & Economy parking have special parking spaces. The economy lot has a free shuttle bus with lift (tel. 1-773-838-0756.)

I travel with my service cat. You either need service animal requirements found on airline websites usually a vest or tag and service card or a letter in formation also found on airline website stating you need a comfort animal.
