Hi, my husband will fly from SFO to IAH with UA 1027 and will arrive at 2.34 pm. At 3.45 pm he will fly with LH 7986 to AMS. Does he has enough time to go from he arriving terminal to the departure terminal? And does he has to go to customs again? Thanks

LH7986 is also a United flight. He will just arrive in Terminal C and depart from Terminal E which is directly connected. All he has to do is walk from his arrival gate to his departure gate. You do not go through US Immigration or Customs when leaving the US. He has enough time.

FYI, he will fly tomorrow morning from SFO, november 6th.

Thanks for the quick response. Which United code has this flight? Thanks!

    LH7986 is United flight 58

I will be landing in JFK from Berlin @ 305p on Air Berlin and I have a separate flight that departs on Jetblue at 635p. With going through customs, transferring to a different terminal, will I be able to make the 635p or is that cutting it close?

That should be enough time. Since Air Berlin and JetBlue do not have an interline agreement. You will have to take your bags to T5 to re-check them with JetBlue. You will take the AirTrain from Terminal 8 where you will arrive to Terminal 5 where you will depart.

  • 38 minute layover.

Hi, we are flying from Rome into ATL and then out to SLC. Delta changed our flights and we now have a 38 minute layover in ATL. When I called the Delta rep said this is a legal transfer. Is it even possible to get through customs that fast, not to mention get to the next flight?

The agent is completely wrong, call again. Point out that the minimum is 90 minutes and that this was an involuntary schedule change and that they are required to rebook you.

  • When to arrive for 5:30 a.m. flight

We are staying at the Marriott that is on airport property. Their shuttle starts running at 4:20 a.m., our flight leaves at 5:30 a.m. Is that cutting it too close? The hotel said we will be fine but I don't know how long it will take to check in, get through security and get to the gate by the time boarding starts. We're flying Southwest so don't have assigned seats. 2 adults traveling with a 6 and 1 year old (and a gate-checked stroller and car seat).

Check-in online 24 hours before your flight and you will get better boarding numbers. You will probably be OK, security lines at MCI are generally short due to the small number of gates served by each checkpoint.

Hello, I am traveling to Guatemala from Colorado, with a connection in DFW. Do I need to claim my bags in DFW and then recheck them, or do I go directly to my international departure gate?

You do not have to do anything with your bags when leaving the US. You can just go directly to your departure gate.

  • Do I have to take luggage for a 10 hour layover in Dallas?

I am flying from Calgary, Canada to Miami, Florida, has a 10 hours layover in Dallas, will my luggage be sent from Calgary to Miami directly? Just wonder if I have to drag my luggage around until the next morning for a 5 am connecting flight? Is there a higher chance of my luggage of being lost if it sits in the airport for 10 hours to the next connecting flight? Thanks

You should be able to have your bags sent to Miami, but check with the agent in Calgary.

Hi there Do wheelchair bound passengers have a separate line for immigrations? Do their accompanying family members join them throughout?

While there is no special lane at 'immigration' (only internationally arriving passengers go through passport check, pick up bags, & go through customs clearance) - a friend or relative can get a special pass at your airline's counter, entitling him/her to pick you up at the airline gate. Give your party the name of the airline, the terminal at which arrives & the scheduled arrivals time. Wheelchairs need to be ordered at least 48 hrs prior to departure from your airline. If you did not order one yet, your party may request one at the airline counter (if one is available.) Hi - we will be landing at JFK from Manchester U.K and I am looking at booking connecting flight to Buffalo for Niagara Falls - how long do we need to leave between flights please, so we are not rushing? Will we have to clear customs and security then go through it again for connecting flight? Thanks!

If you are purchasing separate tickets leave at least 3 hours between flights if you do not want to be rushed.

Thank you. We've booked now- we land in JFK at 12.30pm and take off to BUF at 15.40. Should have time!

I am flying tirana to Rome on Alitalia And transferring to a Alitalia flight to Venice. I have about 1 hour and 25 minutes to make the connection. Is that enough time? What is the easiest way to get from one flight to the other.terminal 1 to 3 ?

You have the terminals backwards. You will arrive in Terminal 3 and depart from Terminal 1. You will go through Schengen Passport Control during your connection. You should have enough time.

Flight into IAD from Iceland arrives 6:30pm on Sunday 12/21 and separate ticket US Air flight from IAD to Charlotte leaves at 7:55pm. Will that be enough time including checked baggage pickup and recheck?

It's possible, but it's definitely cutting it close. You'll have to be to the US Airways check-in counter with your bags by 7:10

Thanks - I think we will try to find a longer layover

What if we didn't have checked baggage?

Good day. I will be arriving from Anchorage, AK via Alaska Air on Nov. 2 5 a.m. and I have flight via Korean Air on Nov. 2 12:p.m. Can you help me to locate Korean Air departure area. Thanx

The Korean flight will leave from the S Satellite. You will arrive at the C or D concourse or N Satellite. If you purchased separate tickets and have checked baggage you will have to go to the main terminal to claim your bags and then take them to the Korean check-in counter.
