Main Terminal / Concourses at Incheon ICN Airport
Layout of the Incheon Airport's Passenger Terminal & Concourse, Services & Amenities, Detailed Transfer Information, and Train/ Subway Connections from the Airport:
Presently, Incheon International has one huge four-level passenger Main Terminal with separate Concourse A (a second Terminal is to open in 2017). The 4-level terminal houses 44 boarding ports able to accommodate the Airbus 380, 50 customs inspection areas, 6 stationary & 14 portable passenger quarantine & 2 biological quarantine counters, 8 arrival & 28 departure security posts, 252 check-in counters and 120 passport inspection posts.
The Pine Tree Garden in the Millennium Hall, on the first level, offers a respite for weary travelers with pine trees, quiet ponds and beautiful flora. Five other smaller gardens are disbursed within the terminal.
Airline service is divided into an East & a West Wing (Korean Air check-in counters are at counters A, B & C; all domestic airlines are at counter A; Asiana is at L & M, Star Alliance members are at G, H, J & K; and all other airlines are either at G - K or D - F counters). Departure gates 1 - 4 require customs declaration, security check & immigration desk. Passengers departing from gates 101-132 take the shuttle train to more distant Concourse A.
Level 1of the Main Terminal, with exit doors 1 through 14 (right to left) houses International Arrivals A - F and check-in counters A - M, and has a meeting point, currency exchange, dressing room, transfer security check, 2 large baggage carousels, & immigration desk.
Level 2 of the Main Terminal serves as gateway to gates 1 through 50 (right to left) and to attached concourses with gates 29-41 to the left and gates 12-25 to the right, and gates 26-28 in th center; between gates 28 & 27 is the shuttle connecting to level 2 of the Concourse, level 2 with an information both in front of both concourses.
Level 3 of the Main Terminal, with Departure gates 1-50 houses the shuttel train stations for either the east or west wing of Concourse A - note, however, that service is only to, not from the concourse.
Level 4 of the Main Terminal houses Korean & Asiana airline lounges, has transfer desks, prayer rooms, and other services.
The separate Concourse A - on level 3 - is divided into gates 118-132 in the west wing, gates 101-115 in the east wing - with gate 117 in the center. The Center also connects to level 2 of the Main Terminal, between gates 28 & 27. Intended for international airlines, it is connected to the Main Terminal by 2 parallel long underground passageways, continuously served by the shuttle Starline train at level B1. Concourse A houses on its level 4 the airline lounges for Asiana & Star Alliance; Korean Air & Sky Team; Cathay Pacific & Oneworld members.
Services and amenities in the passenger terminal & Concourse A: The Integrated Information Center in the Arrivals Hall offers a one-stop service for all inquiries (in English, Japanese, Chinese & Korean), which will be combined with automated information systems.
Services are abundant and of a high quality; they include banking & currency exchange, internet services, business lounges, food & drink establishments, duty-free and retail shops (including 2 department stores), business lounges, and services for mobile phones, postal needs, luggage storage, courier, hair & beauty, laundry, sauna/spa, nursery & children's playroom, smoking room, car wash, medical services, an eye-care center and pharmacies.
Business Lounges include (a) the BC Card Lounge (tel. 82 32 743-8500) pre-security, 4F, Central Area; and (b) the Hyundai Card Air Lounge (tel. 82 322 743-430) at pre-security, 2F, Central Area; all offer premium lounge services.
Transfer Passengers - listed below are details for the following transfer options:
1. Arriving Passengers in the Main Terminal & transferring to domestic or international flights;
2. Arriving Passengers at the Concourse and transferring to domestic or international flights;
3. Transfer passengers to Gimpo Airport:
1. (a) Transfer Passengers arriving at the Main Terminal and transferring to either a domestic or international flight, must proceed to the nearest transfer point. After passing the transfer security screening checkpoint, proceed to level 3F of the main terminal. Check the screens for your next airline departure.
(b) Passengers arriving at the Main Terminal and transferring to a domestic flight (gates 1 to 50, Korean & Asiana airlines), who don't have a ticket yet must proceed to the transfer desk first. With your transfer ticket go to your boarding gate 30 mins before scheduled departure .
(c) Passengers arriving at the Main Terminal and transferring to an international flight (gates 1 to 50 for all airlines except Korean & Asiana) must proceed to the B1 level to board the shuttle train to Concourse A and take the escalator up to level 3F. Those who do not have a ticket yet for the next flight must first go to the transfer desk. With a ticket in hand, proceed to your boarding gate.
2. (a) Transfer passengers arriving at the Concourse and transferring within the Concourse or to the Main Terminal must proceed to the nearest transfer point. Check the screens for your next airline departure.
(b) Passengers arriving at the Concourse and connecting to another international flight (any airlines other than Korean & Asiana - transfer within Concourse, gates 101-132) must pass the transfer security screening checkpoint and proceed to level 3F. (Passengers without a transfer airline ticket must proceed to the transfer desk). 30 mins. prior to your departure time, go to your boarding gate.
(c) Passengers arriving at the Concourse and transferring to a domestic flight must then proceed to the basement level B1 to catch the shuttle train to the Main Terminal; take the escalator up to level 2F & go through security screening checkpoint, then proceed to level 3F. (Passengers without a transfer airline ticket must proceed to the transfer desk first.) then go to your boarding gate 30 mins before scheduled departure.
3. (a) Transfer from IIIA to Gimpo Airport: The Incheon International Airport Expressway 130 also connects with Gimpo Airport, providing connections between the domestic and international flights. (b) The Incheon International Airport Railroad (lines 5 & 9) connects IIAC to Gimpo International Airport in a mere 30 minutes.
Train/ Subway Connections from the Airport: The Airport Station is located on level B1 of the Transportation Center, where you can catch the Express Train to Seoul Station taking 43 mins (at 5am, leaving every 30 mins, and between 6am & 8pm leaving every 3 mins) or you can take the various Commuter trains (to Seoul Station 53 mins.) - there is a 24-hr service to Digital Media City.
You can also take the Seoul Subway Lines 1 or 4 to Seoul Station.
Commuter trains connect you to the following subway stations (only Gyeyang is An Incheon Subway, all others Seoul subways: Gyeyang - line 1; Gimpo Airport - lines 5, 9, Digital Media City - Line 6; Hongik University - line 2; Gongdeok - lines 5, 6.
