New High-speed train connection between Ankara and Istanbul will take a mere 3.5 hours, & covering 500 km. The track extension involved the area between Eskisehir & Istanbul (since 2009, high-speed trains already ran between Ankara & Eskisehir, about the half-way point beween Ankara & Istanbul). While official opening was scheduled for July 11, during prior test drive the YHT train partially derailed - due to a maintenance vehicle left standing on the rails - the train was damaged, requiring repairs and causing a postponement of the opening day.
'Seabus' departs from Bursa- Yenikapi- Kadikoy.
