Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen SAW Airport Overview

Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen International Airport SAW  is one of Turkey's two major Airports serving the greater Istanbul area, and has received from 'Routes Europe' the 'Fastest Growing Airport' award in the airport over 10 million passenger category. The name of Sabiha Gokcen was added to the Airport name in honor of the first female combat pilot in the world.

SAW Airport is located between the towns of Pendik and Kurkoy -  35 km southeast of Istanbul, in the Asian part of Turkey - and is accessible by a 1.5 km access road from either Ankara Yolu (E5) or from TEM (E80) motorways. It is also 40 km from Kadikoy and 50 km from Taksim.

With 15 million passengers served yearly, the Airport had exceeded all expectations. Many domestic, international, regular & low-fare Airlines serve Istanbul Sabiha Airport with a multitude of direct flights to countless destinations in Europe, the Middle East and North Africa. Seasonal charter flights bring countless tourists every year.
