Izmir Adnan Menderes ADB Airport Overview

Izmir Adnan Menderes International Aiport ADB serves the Gaziemir area of Turkey and the country's third-largest city Izmir, Anatolya. The TIV Group is now the Airport's manager.

The Airport is located 18 km southwest of the city of Izmir, accessible from the Menderes motorway, leading to Selcuk, Ephesus (60 km) & Parmukkale (252 km).

With an estimated 9.4 million passengers in 2012 (most of which are domestic travelers), and two very long runways, Izmir Airport is served by national, international, regular and low-fare airlines, offering direct and connecting flights to all parts of the globe. Seasonal charters also serve the Airport.

IMPORTANT NOTICE to Travelers:
1. Since January 2012 domestic flights have been rerouted to the International Terminal until ongoing construction at the new Domestic Terminal has been completed by 2014 (replacing thereafter the old domestic terminal).
2. For questions or complaints regarding any of the Turkish Airports, you can now use this number 24/7:  444 9 TAV.
 
The passenger terminal complex at Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport presently only operates out of the international terminal, until the new domestic terminal will be completed in 2014. (For more information, please refer to 'Terminal Map' page.)

Rental car counters for major agencies are located in the arrivals area of the terminal.

To get from Izmir International Airport to your destination, you can rent a car, take a taxi, a bus, the Metro train, or a ferry. The easiest way to Izmir is by to go to the Airport Station and take the  IZBAN commuter train - or by taking the Havas airport shuttle bus from the Turkish Airline office, which runs every 20 mins and takes between 35-60 minutes.
1. The Havas Airport shuttle bus to Izmir coincides with every single domestic flight and service to the bus terminal is available upon request. Havas buses stop at the Turkish Airline Office. Its city route takes 50 minutes and includes the following stops: Karabaglar Orjaner, Buyuk Efes Oteli & Karsiyaka Mavisehir.
2. Public ESHOT buses 200-202 and204 serve the Izmir metropolitan area .

The Izmir Metro train from Aliaga stops at the Airport station located in front of the Domestic Terminal & ends at Torbali.  The Metro transport has a North Axis starting with Aliaga station and ending at Salhane Station - while the South  Axis sarts at Halkapinar station and ends at Curmaovasi station.  For more infortion visit izban.com.tr
3. The Passenger Ferry runs every 25 minutes between Karsiyaka, Bostanli & Konak . A total of eight ferry stations have been renovated and are in service: Bostanli, Karsiyaka, Bayrakli, Alsancak, Pasaport, Konak, Goztepe and Uckuyular. Car ferries run between Uckuyular and Bostanli, a 25 minute crossing. Present & future Airport developments.  Construction on a new Domestic Terminal is under way and expected to open by 2014, replacing the now closed old domestic terminal.
