Jerez XRY Airport Overview
Jerez Airport XRY serves the Andalusian province of Cadiz in Spain and serves as gateway to the regin's popular tourist areas.
The Airport is located 8 km northeast of Jerez de la Frontera, province of Cadiz, and is about 80 km from Sevilla or 45 km from Cadiz.
The Airport is accessible either from Jerez by taking the N-IV road, or via A-4 Autovia del Sur (Airport exit is ‘Jerez Nord’), which is divided by north- & south-bound traffic on either side of the Airport, and connected by N349, (A-382 connects to A-4).
With an estimated 0.9 million passengers in 2012, Jerez Airport is served by domestic and foreign, regular and low-cost Airlines offering direct flights to European destinations with connections to all points of the globe. However, the bulk of air traffic is derived from charter flight, particularly from Germany and the UK.
The two-level passenger terminal at Jerez Airport consists of a ground level P0 and a first level P1. The Departure lounge includes some airline companies, tour operators, information offices & shops. After the security check you will find a tax-free shop and a restaurant area. Boarding is via 5 gates accessing air side. Upon arrival from the air side, you access baggage claim hall via one of two gates: national & international, the latter one requires passport control. Within this area are the rental car offices, while in the main lobby houses tourist information.
Amenities & service inside the terminal: (a) on the ground level P0: 2 shops and a bar/cafeteria; 6 rental car agencies (AurigaCrown, Avis, Europcar, Goldstar, Hertz & National Atesa); tour operator Iberoservice; an ATM cash machine by Euro 6000 (CajaSol); 3 Information points (Aena, Jerez tourist info, Cadiz tourist info); 3 Lost Luggage facilities (Flightcare, Iberia, Swissport); and Lost property.
(b) on the first level P1: a multi-purpose room; and a First Aid station.
Parking facilities at Jerez Airport include two sites:
(a) Car Park P1, located across from the passenger terminal, has 420 spaces (and 186 spaces for rental cars); and
(b) Car Park P2, located behind Car Park 1, and served by a shuttle bus, has 515 spaces.
To get from Jerez Airport to your destination you can rent a car, take a taxi or a bus:
(a) Taxis (tel. 956 344 860) are available in front of the passenger terminal and the taxi fare depends on the time and type of day: Fare 1 charges are effective Mon-Fri 7am-10pm; a trip o Jerez would cost about 12.10 EUR, plus 0.42 EUR for each piece of luggage. Fare 2 charges are effective Moon-Fri 9pm-7am, weekends & holidays; a trip to Jerez would cost about 15.13 EUR, plus 0.42 EUR for each piece of luggage.
(b) Three bus routes are available (tel. 902 450 550), each of which makes several stops along the way:
1. Route M-050 to Jerez – Cadiz: the trip takes abt 75 mins to Cadiz and 30 mins to Jerez.
2. Route M-051 to Jerez – El Puerto de Santa Maria: The trip takes about 90 mins.
3. Route M-561 to Jerez – Cota Ballena (Rota): The trip takes about 40 mins.
