My mom is coming tomorrow from Russia, to T4, and her connecting flight is in couple hours from the same terminal. How the check in baggage will work, worried as she doesnt speak english

Are her tickets on two separate reservations or one reservation? What airlines is she flying?

If she has one ticket, including the connection one, she does not have to pick up the luggage. Better to check with check in services. Usually for the connection, she has to go through the security services and then come back to the terminal from which another plane departs. If she speaks Russiia, there are many airport workers who speak Russian in Israel

Thank you, she has two different reservations, though both flights are at t4.

AB is completely incorrect anyways and thinks your mom is connecting in israel. She will have to go through US Immigration, claim her bags, go through US Customs, re-check her bags at the check in counter for her second airline, and go through security and to her departure gate. She reasonably needs at least 2.5 hours to make this connection.

Hi, I'll be flying into JFK on Singapore Airlines SQ26, arriving 11:10am and am looking for a connecting flight to MCO. I'm looking at Jetblue flight 1089, leaving at 2:09pm. Will there be enough time for the connection? We have checked baggage but if it helps, are flying First class on Singapore Airlines so will get our baggage before everyone else.

Yes, that should be just about enough time.

I'm planning to go to Orlando (MCO), from Jakarta (CGK) via JFK with Cathay Pasific. My ticket is on the same reservation. Should I claim my baggage in JFK? Which terminal should I go to ?

If everything is on the same reservation then you won't have to do anything with your bags at JFK. Cathay Pacific departs from Terminal 7. Since you didn't post what airline you are flying to JFK I don't know what terminal you will arrive in.

I'm flying to JFK from HongKong also with Cathay Pacific. Do I go through immigration in JFK or MCO ?

Sorry, I misread your post. In JFK you will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, and then if your flight to Orlando is on American, take the AirTrain to Terminal 8, go through security and to your departure gate.

Hi all, we are flying to Rio in a few weeks and have a 24 hour stop over at JFK. We plan to leave the airport and explore New York! But what do we do with our baggage, is it automatically put in the next flight or so we have to collect it and store it somewhere? Thanks, Sarah :)

24 hours is so long that you will have to claim it and store it somewhere. There are services that can pick it up from the curb at JFK and there is also a luggage storage place near Penn Station if you take the AirTrain/LIRR into Manhattan.

I am going to book flight from Dubai to jfk with Emirates. There is flight with connection in IAD which is less expensive than direct flight to JFK. May I book the flight with the connection and disregard the leg from JFk to IAD? I have baggage to check in.

If it's a one-way you can. If it's a roundtrip and not the end of then your trip, then the rest of your trip will get canceled if you skip a leg.

Thanks a lot for your reply. Can I get my baggage on JFK or they send the baggage directly to IAD?

Yes, you will have to claim your baggage in JFK to go through US Customs.

I'm flying AMS-JFK-MIA, with a 6,5 hour layover at JFK. Will Delta allow me to re-checkin my baggage 6,5 hour before the next flight? All flights are with Delta, thanks a lot!

Yes, that shouldn't be a problem.

We are traveling in July to Stockholm on Delta. We will start out in Roanoke at 7 am and arrive at JFK at 2:20 pm. Our flight to Stockholm leaves at 4:37 pm. We plan on checking luggage through from Roanoke. Is two hours ample time to catch the shuttle from Terminal 2 and get to Terminal 4. We won't have to do anything with our luggage will we?

Yes, that is enough time, you don't have to do anything with your bags. Your flight from Atlanta may even arrive in Terminal 4.

Booked connecting flight from LAX to JFK and then JFK to LHR. First flight through Delta, second through Virgin. Both bought directly drom Virgin. Do I need to claim my bags and go through customs and re-check them?

There is no US Customs when exiting the US nor is there customs after taking a domestic flight. If you show your Virgin confirmation to the Delta agent in LAX they should be willing to check your bags through to LHR. Otherwise you just have to claim them, re-check them with Virgin Atlantic, and then go through security.

When flying internationally, is the weight of your computer and dslr camera added onto the carry on limit?

As long as it fits in the dimensions, it should be fine. I've never seen any airline weigh carry-ons. A camera bag or computer bag/briefcase can count as a personal item.

Doesn't it weight it as it goes under the X Ray belt?

    No, it does not.

Then why is there a weight limit for carry on + accessory for air France?

So they can say no if you insist on bringing something totally stupid onboard.

I'm flying delta from RDU into Paris through Air France, from what I see on their website air France cArry on dimensions are 21.7 x 13.8 x 9.9... My I wish to carry on is 23 X 14 X 10. Is this doable? Or are they so strict that I should consider getting a new bag?

Air France doesn't measure your bag. You'll be fine.

Even though France is on high alert for travel they're not going to measure my bag? Are you sure?

Those two things have literally nothing to do with each other.

Hi! I will ever going from MCO to Ghana passing through JFK. I have some checked bags. The flights are same reservation and same terminal. Once I reach there, do I need to recheck my bags, or can I just go to my next gate and wait?

You don't have to do anything with your bags in JFK.

Ok, so I just go to my next gate?

hey, i am flying in from Dubai on Emirates next week and have 2hrs 45mins to transit to a domestic flight connection through to Charlotte, is it right that i need to clear immigration and get my luggage and then re-check my luggage in for AA flight out? will i have enough time? I'm coming from Aus via Dubai and have the appropriate visas too. i have to get from Terminal 4 to terminal 8? thanks

Yes, that is correct. Yes, if you have two separate reservations you will have to take your bags with you from T4 to T8 on the airtrain to re-check them with AA.
