is a 56 minute transfer enough time?May 23, 201310I am traveling from MSP>JFK>SVO (Moscow) on Friday, May 24th. I am flying Delta all the way. I should arrive at JFK at 15:14 and depart for Moscow at 16:10, which is only a 56 minute layover. My flight is scheduled to arrive in Terminal 2 and depart from Terminal 4. I plan on taking the Delta shuttle so I do not have to go through security. How much time do you think this will take?Normanposted on Wed, May 22[ Reply ][ Like ]

transfers between terminal 7 and terminaMay 21, 201331We arrive from Heathrow in terminal 7 on BA 117 at 11.00 and then have to get to terminal 8 for American Airlines flight AA1635 at 14.55 to San Juan, Puerto Rico, is there transportation between these terminals. Also will we have to claim our luggage and re check it in for American Airlinespk and tkposted on Tue, May 211 person likes this post [ Like ]Yes, you will have to claim your luggage in immigration, then re-check it once you exit customs. Then you take the Airtrain one stop from T7 to T8, then go through security and to your gate. You should have enough time.ZAPposted on Tue, May 21When we have claimed luggage in immigration do we re check it after customs in T7 before we get Airtrain to T8pk and tkposted on Tue, May 21

TransitMay 21, 201322I will arrive JFK New York Kennedy Airport terminal 4 at 1055hrs via SQ and need to depart from terminal 2 at 1435hrs to baltimore international airport via Delta. How to travel from T4 to T2? Any security check in between? Is the time sufficient? Do I need to re-check in my baggage? Thank you.ACHCposted on Tue, May 211 person likes this post [ Like ]After going through customs you should be able to re-check your baggage with Delta, then take the Airtrain to T2 and go through security (you may have to pick up your boarding pass from Delta first). You should have plenty of time.ZAPposted on Tue, May 211 person likes this post [ Like ]

Time from Terminal 3 to Terminal 1May 19, 201320We are arriving at JFK on Delta flight at terminal 3 at 2:51. Making a connecting Delta flight (via Alitalia) to FCO leaving from terminal 1 at 5:25 . Will we have enough time? What is quickest way to get to terminal 1? Will we have to go through security again? All flights made on one reservation. Thanks!LLTposted on Sun, May 19You will have to take the AirTrain and go through security again, but if your first flight is on-time you'll have enough time.ZAPposted on Sun, May 19

Terminal 3 to 5 and backMay 18, 201310We have a 7 hour layover. Our flights arrive and depart from Terminal 3 but we would like to eat in terminal 5. Would we have to go through security both to enter terminal 5 and then to re-enter terminal 3?Julieposted on Fri, May 17On arrival at T3, take the 'Airline Terminals Train' which serves all terminals outside of security (follow signs). As each airline has its own rules, check with your airline whether they will automatically transfer to your connecting flight or if you need to re-check-in your bags, particularly if you use 2 different airlines.samay13posted on Sat, May 18

Minimum layover timeMay 17, 201321Hi, I am flying Delta from San Francisco to JFK, arriving 8pm and then getting another Delta flight to Dublin at 9.30 pm. I think I arrive into, and depart from Term.4. I really need to get back that day, so I am getting worried that I won't make the flight. Will I have enough time to make the connection?ammcposted on Fri, May 17at JFK, LAX & SFO Delta flights are in Terminal 2 - meaning you need to take the 'Airline Terminals Train' to Terminal 4 (follow signs) and there go through security check before proceeding to your gate. Concourse A has gates A2-7, Concourse B gates B20-40. NOTE: First phase of major reconstruction of T4 opens with fanfare next Friday. However, it possible that the Delta Shuttle bus from T2 to T4, gate to gate (with no security check at T4) will already be in place. Either way you should be able to make your connection on time.frmay13posted on Fri, May 171 person likes this post [ Like ]

PRG - JFK - DEN with 2h30min layoverMay 16, 201332Hi, I'm flying international from PRG to JFK Terminal 4 with DL211 which arrives at 16:30 and I need to catch 19:00 DL971 from the same terminal. Do you think 2:30 is enough to go through imigration, new second imigration SEVIS check, customs, check baggage and another security for domestic flight? Or should I look for another flights?p1gletposted on Thu, May 16Thanks for quick answer:) I have one more question, how does baggage re-checking work? Do I have to go to normal airline check-in counter or is there any other place to re-check?p1gletposted on Thu, May 16

Getting from JFK Terminal 2 to 4May 12, 201360Hi, I'm from England, UK and will be in the US in early July. On the way back to England we will be travelling from Buffalo (Delta Airlines) into JFK Terminal 2 at 16:10 and need to catch a 19:25 Virgin Atlantic flight from Terminal 4 back to London Heathrow. We will have hold baggage. What is the quickest way to get from T2 to T4? Is it possible to not go through security again (saves time)? Will I have enough time to catch the 19:25 (including check in etc..) ThanksNCposted on Sat, May 11Delta operates a shuttle bus from T2 to T4 on the secure side - http://www.delta.com/content/www/en_US/traveling-with-us/airports-and-aircraft/airports/new-york-jfk.htmlZAPposted on Sat, May 11Thanks ZAP. Will we still be able to check in our bags and get our boarding passes on the secure side for our Virgin flight?NCposted on Sat, May 11If your bags are checked through you won't have to do anything with them in JFK. If not you will have to leave the secure side and claim them, then take them to T4 and check them with Virgin Atlantic. You have over 3 hours so that is enough time to do all that.ZAPposted on Sat, May 11OK, that's good to know. I doubt the bags will be checked through as the two flights were booked separately as part of separate trips LHR\JFK return and JFK\BUF return as we are going to niagara at the end of our NYC trip. I will ask at the airport when we check in at Buffalo on our return journey. Thanks for the advice.NCposted on Sat, May 11Also, If we will leave the secure side can we still get the Delta shuttle bus from T2 to T4 (or an equivalent shuttle service)?NCposted on Sat, May 11

MCO-JFK-FCO AlitaliaMay 2, 201320I have 1 hour 25 minutes to connect from a Delta flight from MCO to an Alitalia flight to FCO. I have no checked luggage. I have been told that I have to get my boarding pass from Alitalia when I get to JFK. Is this correct and will I have enough time?beagusposted on Thu, May 2It'll be tight but it should be doable if your first flight is on-time. You need to take the airtrain to Terminal 1 from 2 or 3, then go to Alitalia to get your boarding pass, then go through security. Since Delta and Alitalia are both in SkyTeam, Delta may be able to get you a boarding pass in MCO if your tickets were bought on the same reservation.ZAPposted on Thu, May 2

London-JFK-Peru 1h20min stopoverApr 30, 201330Hi I'm planning a trip from London to Peru, stopping over at JFK for 1h20min. Will that be enough time, especially if we have to pick up our checked bags and go through security again?MxMtchposted on Tue, Apr 30I forgot to mention that we would be landing at JFK at 2245h, so if anyone knows how long it would take to re-check bag and go through security again at that time, that would be great!MxMtchposted on Tue, Apr 30What airlines are you flying? Normally that would be a very tight, almost impossible connection, but may be doable since it's so late at night.ZAPposted on Tue, Apr 30

Time between Terminal 8 and Terminal 5Apr 29, 201310We are flying from Chicago to JFK, arriving in Terminal 8, and need to go to Terminal 5 to catch our flight to Ireland. From looking at the map, I'm seeing that Term 8 is quite large, as is Term. 5. And I'm assuming we have to go thru security again in Term 5. How long do you think it will take to get from gate in 8 , thru security, to gate in 5 if we're unlucky enough to have the farthest gates in each terminal on arrival and departure.larmarkeposted on Mon, Apr 29
