Hi! I will be flying from Chicago O'hare with a stopover at JFK before flying to Iceland. The flight from Chicago to JFK is on JetBlue Airways and arrives at noon. The flight to Iceland is on Icelandair and leaves at 2:10pm. Do you think I will have any problems? Will I need to go through security again? Do you have any tips? Thanks!

I will be flying on Delta from Nashville to Detroit then JFK. From JFK I will travel to Tel Aviv. I have a 2 hour layover at JFK. Will that be enough time to make my connection? Will I have to clear customs going to Israel at JFK again or will I do this when I leave Nashville? Appreciate any isight.

  • 2hr13min layover v 4hr33min layover to clear custom on holiday Friday

Sorry I accidentally posted this on layover ideas which I think is more what to do while you wait. US Citizen will arrive on Delta from Scotland and transfer to Delta flight to Atlanta on a holiday Friday afternoon with bags checked through to Atlanta (all flights are same reservation). Does Delta/Edinburgh Scotland pre-clear or will I need to claim and recheck? Is 2 hours and 13 minutes sufficient time to clear customs and do what is required for bags? I would prefer the shorter (2hr13min vs 4 hr33min) layover but do not want to risk missing flight (with it being a holiday, I'm not sure there will be seats on the later flight). Thank you. This is a great site.

  • Connecting from Jet Blue to Delta

I am landing on a domestic JetBlue flight at JFK at Terminal 5 at 4:48PM. I have a Delta internatioinal flight in Terminal 2 or 4 at 6:27PM. I will have carry-on baggage. Will I need to go through security again? If so, will I have enough time to make this change.

Your Delta flight will depart from Terminal 4. You will have to go through security again. You barely have enough time if everything goes perfectly.

  • 1.5 hours to make connecting flight with only carry on luggage.

I have a domestic Jetblue flight (terminal 5) landing at 930pm on a Thursday night and my connecting flight departs at 1055pm from Terminal 7. If I have just a carry on and my jetblue flight is on time is this going to be enough time? Thanks in advance.

With carry-on only it's not impossible, but it's still difficult.

  • Do I have enough time?

Hi, I will be arriving at JFK with Delta at 2:30 and flying with Emirates at 4:30. Do I have time to collect my luggage, recheck them in and go through the security again? Both flights are at terminal 4. Thanks

That should be just enough time if the Delta flight is on-time and your bags come out quickly.

  • 1.5 hours enough time to make connecting flight?

My 16 year old daughter is flying via Delta from TPA to JFK arriving 6:23pm then JFK to Prague leaving 8:06. Does she have enough time to do the terminal change, and is it terminal 2 to terminal 4? Also, will she have to go through security again?

Delta runs a shuttle bus inside security from Terminal 2 to Terminal 4. She has enough time if the flight from Tampa is on-time.

  • is it enough time for connection SEA to KBP via JFK?
    May 25, 2016

hello, I want to fly with luggage from SEA to JFK by JetBlue (arrival to terminal 5 at 22:00) where should transfer to Terminal 7 to fly to KBP by UIA at 00:30, so connection is 2:30 hours. looks that it will be separate ticket. Questions are - is it enough time to transfer with such connection ? - can luggage be registered to final destination (Kiev) or it should be collected at JFK and checked-in one more time at departure terminal ? Thank you in advance.

You would have to claim your bags in T5 and take them to T7 to re-check them. That's barely enough time if the flight from Seattle is on-time.

I have 5hours between the connecting flight. My second question. Which terminal will i arrive from syracuse and which terminal should I go for delta jfk to bkk. Thank you for your help!

Yes, you will arrive in Terminal 5, claim your bags, take them with you on the airtrain to Terminal 4, re-check them with Delta, and go through security.

I fly in to JFK at 2:15 on a Emirates flight comming from South Africa through Dubai, I am suppose to fly out at 4:30 on an American Airlines flight. Is 2 hours enough time to get through customs and from terminal 4 to terminal 8 or so I have to rearrange my flights? These are two separate reservations.

    That will be very difficult.

  • Landing terminal 5 Jet blue and departing from terminal 5 jet blue

Am landing at terminal 5 from jet blue at 2:30 pm and departing from terminal 5 with jet blue at 4:00 pm. Do I need to go through immigration and customs ? Do I have enough time to catch my next flight with 1 hour 30 min layover ? Thanks

WHere are you coming from and where are you going to? I can't answer your question with the information you provided.

I am coming from Port Au Prince Haiti by jet Blue, arriving in JFK at 2:30 PM and taking the 4:00 pm flight Jet Blue to San Francisco. Thanks

Yes, you will have to go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, go through security and to your departure gate. This is a fairly difficult connection but not impossible if everything goes smoothly.

  • Connecting flight to St. Lucia

We will be flying from Boston to JFK and will have 1hr and 55 minutes to go thru customs at JFK to St. Lucia. Will that be enough time?

There is no US Customs when exiting the US. You just have to go from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

  • YYZ to JFK to SNN

Hi there. We are US citizens flying from YYZ in Toronto, connecting in JFK for our flight to SNN in Ireland. All flights are Delta operated. Anything we should be wary of? Layover in JFK is approximately 3 hours. Flights are later in the evening on a Wednesday. Any and all help is greatly appreciated!

That is plenty of time. All you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

Thank you so much for the info! We were worried about having to go through customs, then back through security, etc. Peace of mind is nice to have. Thanks!

You will pre-clear US Immigration and customs in Toronto.

We are arriving into JFK from Richmond VA on Delta then leaving for South Africa on South African Air. Is 2 to 2 and a half hours enough time to make our connection?

That would be barely enough time if everything went perfectly.

  • Terminal 8 to Terminal 1 in 2.5 hours?
    May 24, 2016

Is transferring from terminal 8 to terminal 1 in 2.5 hours possible? Anything I should know?

Where are you flying into Terminal 8 from? Where are you flying to? Are your tickets on one reservation or two separate ones? I can't answer your question without that information.

Sorry for not a lot of information. I'll be flying into terminal 8 from Boston via AA and flying to Tokyo from terminal 1 via JAL. The tickets are on one reservation.

Then yes, that is possible. All you have to do is take the AirTrain to Terminal 1 and go through security.

    Awesome, thanks so much!
