  • Getting between T7 and T8 in 2h10min with two small children

    1
Hello, is this possible in 2h10min from T7 to T8, we are traveling with BA from London and connection flight to Cancun MX are manged by AA. And my second question is do we need to collect our checked in bagage in T7 and check in it again in T8? Best regard Mattias

If your bags are tagged to CUN, which they should be, you will claim your bags in T7, go through US customs, then you can re-check your bags at the transfer desk there, then take the AirTrain to T8 and go through security and to your departure gate. You should have enough time but not much to spare.

  • Getting from T 4 to T2

I am arriving into JFK on Virgin and have 2 hours to get to T2 for Virgin to heathrow. I only have 1 carry on bag. Tickets bought together at the same time with travel agent. What is my best way between terminals and is 2 hurs enough time please?

You have your terminals incorrect. Virgin Atlantic does not use Terminal 2. Virgin America and Virgin Atlantic both use Terminal 4. 2 Hours is plenty of time for your transfer.

Hi, My DXB JFK flight by emirates will lands at 1350hrs at terminal 4 and i have Jet blue flight at 1759 to Orlando. can you please let me know the transfers detail betwen T4 and T5? what is the easiest way to travel between T4 and T5 ? shall i need to claim bags at JFK and put them to Jet blue?

You will arrive in T4, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, then if you purchased both flights together and your bags are tagged to MCO, you can re-check them at the transfer desk in T4, otherwise you will need to bring them on the AirTrain to T5 and check them at the JetBlue counter there. Get your jetblue boarding pass and go through security. You have plenty of time.

I have af flight via royal air Maroc at 5 45 and I am coming from Atlanta With AA departure 10 50 arrival at jfk 3 20. Am i going to be able to make it?

If your tickets were bought together that should be enough time. If they were bought separately you will have to hurry to get your bags on the AirTrain and take them to Royal Air Maroc in time to check them.

Arrive from Portland Maine on Jet Blue at Terminal 4. Scheduled to fly out on Finair to London from Terminal 8 two hours later. Is two hours enough time to get from Terminal 4 to Terminal 8. No checked bags.

Yes, with no checked bags that should be possible. But it does depend on your first flight being on-time.

I'm flying into JFK from SFO, arriving at Terminal 4 and have to get to Terminal 1 for my flight o PARIS. It's a code share flight, have only 1h and 25 mins layover. What's the quickest way to get Terminal 1? Could I just walk it?

It is impossible to walk. You have to take the AirTrain. The ride on the Airtrain should take less than 10 minutes.

ok, thanks! do i have to go through security check again? do you happen to know if the AirTrain access is at the arrivals level? I appreciate your help

Yes, you will have to go through security again. The Airtrain is an elevated train, located closer to the Departures level.

US citizen flying Delta from Ireland with pre clearance in Dublin arriving at 13.40 in T4 trying to get Jet Blue in T5 to San Juan on the 14.59 flight. Is it too little time? Thanks

No, that should be enough time. Check in for your San Juan flight online before you leave Dublin.

Thanks Zap, what if I have to check baggage?

It may be difficult with checked bags, you'll have to get them to T5 by 14:19 That would leave you 39 minutes to claim your bags and get to T5, assuming your flight from Dublin is on-time.

Hi, we are flying on Ukraine International arriving at 13:45 we have a connecting flight at 15:45 on jet blue. Is there enough time to make the connection? Tickets were bought separately

That will be very difficult. The Ukraine International flights are frequently delayed and you will have to clear Immigration and Customs and take your bags on the AirTrain to Terminal 5 and check them all in 1 hour.

We're flying from BRU to JFK T4 and need to transit to T2 for a connecting flight to SFO. I suppose we need to clear customs (visa waiver), collect lugage, transfer terminal, recheck lugage, clear customs again. Is this doable in 1h50?

Flights to SFO leave from Terminal 4. You will arrive in T4, go through US Immigration, claim your baggage, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the transfer desk, then go up to the departure level and through security and to your departure gate. You have enough time.

  • Terminal 4 to 2 and luggage?

Hello all, Flying tomorrow and could use a bit or guidance. We arrive at terminal 4 with 2.5 hours layover from London then going to terminal 2 for a flight to phoenix. I booked the tickets in the same booking. The first leg is virgin, second is Delta. First, is that enough time to get through immigration and changing terminals? Second, what about my bags? I've been told two different things from the airline so not sure. Do we have to pick up our bags or just not worry about them and should be in phoenix at the end? Last, do we go back through security in terminal 4 or leave the building to get a shuttle to terminal 2 and go through security again there? Thanks for any help!

You will arrive in Terminal 4, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, then re-check your bags at the transfer desk, then look at the monitors, your flight to Phoenix could depart from Terminal 2 or 4. If it leaves from 4 just go through security there. If it leaves from 2, you can go through security in 4, then take a shuttle bus to 2, or take the AirTrain to Terminal 2 and go through security there.

Thanks, Do you think 2.5 hours is enough time? Is the bus or train option faster?

Yes, that should be enough time. The Train is a tad faster (more walking, less waiting) the bus is more waiting, less walking.

I am going to be flying through JFK, and will connect from T2 to T4 using the Jitney. I am looking at an itinerary with a 50 min connection. Will this be enough time? Aprox. how long does Jitney take now that T3 is closed? Thanks!

That should be enough time. The Jitney takes about 10-15 minutes.

    Thanks ZAP, appreciate the help!

  • Emirates to Jet Blue connection

Hey dear sirs! If I'm flying with a WHOLE ticket by Emirates with a connection in JFK on the destination to Dominican Republic. If I'm not mistaken, I will arrive at JFK T4, and depart from JFK T5 (as the flight to Dominican is operated by Jet Blue, but again, it's a part of Emirates ticket). Will I have go through the passport control and customs, or there is a transit zone between this two terminals?????

Yes, you will arrive in T4, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the transfer desk, then take the AirTrain to T5, get your JetBlue boarding pass if you don't already have it, and then go through security and to your departure gate. All international arrivals in the US must go through US Immigration, even if they are continuing on elsewhere.

Do I need to have US visa for that?

It depends on your citizenship. If you are a citizen of a Visa Waiver country you will need to complete ESTA, if you are not a Visa Waiver citizen, you will need a US Transit Visa.

I'm arriving to JFK 20 Dec 2014 with DELTA DL 1012 from Moscow (SVO) to New York (JFK). Then I'm going to Toronto 20 Dec 2014 with DELTA DL 2988 from New York (JFK) to Toronto (YYZ) . What terminal do am I arriving at JFK? What terminal do I need at JFK to go to get to YYZ?

You will arrive in Terminal 4, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the transfer desk, then take the AirTrain to Terminal 2, go through security and to your departure gate. You will need a US Transit visa if you are a Russian citizen.

  • Connection at JFK from London, UK to Toronto, Canada
    Dec 8, 2014

I have a flight from London to Toronto with a connection at JFK. I arrive at T4 and depart from T2. I bought my tickets together as one. Will I need to go through security/collect my bags and re-check them, or will they be automatically transferred because I bought my tickets as one? Flying the same route back to the UK. I only have an hour for that connection. Will that be enough time?

On your way to Toronto you will arrive in T4, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, then re-check your bags at the transfer desk, then take the Airtrain to T2, go through security and to your departure gate. On your return, you will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Toronto, so all you have to do in JFK is take the Delta shuttle bus from T2 to T4 and walk to your departure gate.

  • Is the time enough

I have a separate ticket on jet blue from Orlando to JFK terminal 5 domestic then I have three hours only to go to terminal 4 to depart internationally to dubai on emirates airlines on separate ticket. We are four. I have only three hours to do so. I am not us citizen. Is the time enough

On arrival at JFK's Terminal 5 proceed to the Arrivals level & claim your bags, then follow signs to the 'Airline Terminals Train', board the train with your bags, and get off at next stop which is T4. There proceed to the Departure level & check in your bags, go through security check and on to your connecting gate. T4 has Concourses A (gates A3, A5 & Concourse B (gates B20-41.

3 hours is plenty of time for your transfer.

Thanks. So I presume 3 hours are adequate
