Hey Im coming in JFK from Dubai and would like to go on a flight on JetBlue to Miami.. Seperate tickets and both are on the same terminal.. I will be arriving at 8:30 am a) how long will it take to get off a plane and go to the other b) will i have to go through security again c) does JFK have a duety free thank you

They are not in the same terminal. You will arrive in Terminal 4 and JetBlue departs Terminal 5. I would leave 3 hours between flights. You will not be able to shop for duty free on your way to Miami - You can only purchase duty free when you are departing on an international flight. Yes, before your flight to Miami you will have to go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, take the AirTrain to Terminal 5, re-check your bags with JetBlue and go through security.

  • ATL - JFK -MAN 53 mins connection

Flying delta via jfk - is 53 mins enough time to connect from landing to departing ?

Yes, but there is a chance you could arrive in Terminal 2. You will depart from Terminal 4. Delta has a shuttle bus inside security between terminals, but you will have no time to spare if you arrive in Terminal 2.

Hi there, looking through comments however still uncertain.. I have 1 ticket, all Delta. Coming in from PHL to JFK T4, departing to TLV from T4 as well. Connection time is 1 hour 10 minutes. Possible? Or should I insist with Delta on an earlier flight from PHL? Thank you!

Yes, that is possible. There is no US Customs when departing the US. All you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

I will arrive from Japan with Japan Airlines at 6:25 pm. My connecting flight to Toronto is with American Airlines at 7:55 pm. Would this be enough time to make the connection?

That is barely enough time if everything goes perfectly. You will arrive in Terminal 1, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, take the AirTrain to Terminal 8, go through security, and to your departure gate. if anything goes wrong you will be stuck at JFK overnight.

Our flight is from Istanbul to LAX via JFK. We will travel with Delta Airlines and both tickets are on the same reservation. In JFK the layover is 2 hour 35 minutes. 1_ Is this time enough to catch our next flight? 2_Do we need to pass passport control? 3_Do we need to claim our bags and so do we need to clear customs and recheck our bags? 4_If the answer is yes for the above questions, Delta has some special terminal or process for the passengers like us? I mean is not time schedule is little bit tight to achieve all these steps on time. The return flight is LAX-JFK-IST. And layover time is 1 Hour 4 Minutes. Again Delta and one reservation. So how about this time, will we manage to catch our flight?

In JFK you will arrive in Terminal 4, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then go through security and to your departure gate. you have enough time. Roughly half of the people on your flight will be connecting to other Delta flights. On your return all you have to do in JFK is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate, both in Terminal 4. There is no US Customs when leaving the US.

I'm travelling to London via JFK from St Maarten with a 2 hour window, with Delta Airlines, is this plenty of time?

Yes, that should be just about enough time. Both flights will be in Terminal 4. You will have to go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, and go through security.

My husband and I are flying into JFK from Toronto with West Jet , we land at 8:10 and our connecting flight on Delta airlines leaves at 8:35, do we have to clear customs? Do we have to recheck our bags or do they get transferred planes? Do we have enough time?

You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Toronto. Also Westjet does not fly from Toronto to JFK. If that flight is indeed Toronto-JFK it will be operated by Delta. Even though both flights are Delta this is a very difficult connection.

I will arrive from Moscow with Aeroflot on February 16 at 5:30 pm. My connecting flight to Portland is with Delta at 7:35 pm. I have only 2 hours to make it, is this enough?

If both tickets are on the same reservation that should be enough time.

    Thanks!!!

flying Delta DEN - JFK- DUB, do I change terminals at JFK ?

You may arrive in Terminal 2 or 4. You will depart from Terminal 4. If you arrive in Terminal 2, Delta runs a shuttle bus inside security between the two terminals.

  • Connecting between Hawaiian and Delta

I'm looking at a split itinerary that lands on Hawaiian in T5 at 6:55 am and leaves on Delta in T2 at 7:50. Is that cutting it too close? Carrying on and have TSA-precheck. Thank you!

I personally wouldn't try it but with precheck it's probably possible if the Hawaiian flight is on-time.

I will be traveling to Israel to visit family in July. On the way back, my routing is TLV-BRU-JFK-BOS-DTW. I will be flying Brussels Airlines into JFK, arriving around 1:30 at Terminal 1, and connecting to JetBlue at Terminal 5 departing at 4:40 for Boston. If I check in online the night before, would I be able to make it to my connection?

Yes, that should be enough time.

Arriving terminal 1 on Korean air, departing Terminal 5 or Jet Blue, once I clear customs are my bags "rechecked" in terminal 1 or do I have to take them to terminal 5?

If both tickets were purchased on the same reservation and your bags are tagged through to your final destination then you can drop them at the re-check desk in Terminal 1. Otherwise you will have to bring them to the JetBlue check-in desk in Terminal 5.

Thank you, they should be checked through to final destination, but I will check with her when she lands. Thank you.

Didnt book yet but wondering if 2Hrs is sufficient when flying from Shannon (SNN) Ireland (Immigration pre clearance) via JFK and on to Orlando (MCO), not sure what terminals are used and if baggage needs to be collected at entry point in to US, ill be traveling with family including small kids trying to balance overall travel time with pressure of connecting. TIA

meant to add that both flights are operated by Delta

You will arrive in Terminal 4 and depart from Terminal 2. Delta runs a shuttle bus between the two terminals inside security. All you have to do in JFK is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate, nothing with your bags. You should have enough time.

  • T4-T1 Connection. Layoff time of 1 hr 40 Mins

Flying to New York and to Paris. I reach T4 at 17:25 and have to depart from T1 at 19:10. Is this time sufficient to make from T4 to T1? Should I go through security check again? Tickets are in the same reservation and so I believe the baggage should be checked through.

Where are you flying into T4 from? On What airline?

Oh bad, I am flying from Minneapolis to JFK T4 through delta. Take AF from T1 to Paris.

Yes, that should be enough time. You take the Airtrain between terminals and will have to go through security again in T1.

  • Transferring between terminals on separate tickets

Flying to New York and then New York to London on separate tickets. No checked luggage but I figure I have to go through security again. Can I walk to terminal 7 from 8? If I have to take the AirTrain, is there a separate train for the arrivals and departure levels?

There is only one airtrain in each direction - out where the airtrain runs there is no "arrival" or "departure" levels. You have to take the airtrain.
