I have a flight from PAP to JFK, and after that a second flight from JFK to MXP. I have 2 hours and 30 minutes to go from terminal 5 to terminal 4. The flights are on the same reservation... do I have enough time? Thanks!

I'm going from Acc to MCO with a layover at JFK. I have checked luggage will be possible to get from terminal 4 to terminal 2 in 1 hour ten minutes? Do I need to recheck my luggage(check-in)? And if I can't make it, could there be another flight to Mco within the same day? I get to JFK at 4:50 and leave 6:00.

And it's on the same reservation

No, 70 minutes is not enough time for an International to domestic connection at JFK. Yes, you have to go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, and go through security and to your departure gate. That flight is the last Delta flight to Orlando of the evening. You'll have to plan on spending the night in New York.

  • Connecting flight between BWI and Prague

We would like to fly from BWI or Washington DC to Prague. Do we need to re-check our luggage at JFK? Is 1h 59m layover enough to move between terminals?

If both tickets are on the same reservation then you won't have to do anything with your bags in JFK on your way to Prague.

I will take a flight from China arriving Terminal 4 in JFK at 6pm . and the next flight is 9pm from JFK Terminal 2 to Washington DC. Both flights are in one ticket. Do you think I will have enough time to go thru immigration, customs, recheck bag, take a ride to T2 and go thru security at T2? Can I quickly re-check baggage once I get out of US customs? I wonder if I should take the shuttle ( jitney) bus from T4 to T2 or take the air train. Can you advice please? your help will be appreciated.

Yes, that is enough time. Yes, there is a re-check desk right after customs that you can use if your bags are tagged through to DC. I would take the airtrain to T2 and go through security there. Note however, that it's possible your flight to DC may depart from T4, so check before you go.

Thank you very much. Anyone knows how long it takes to go thru immigration , and security? I heard some bad story from people immigration line is long for visitors.

At 6 PM it will probably take 60-90 minutes. Security will probably take about 20-30 minutes.

Hi all. I'm arriving from TLV t JFK on Jul 30 with Delta (T4) @5:15 am, departing to SFO @9:00am with JetBlue (T5). Need to claim baggage, go through immigration and move between the terminals. Is it doable? 10x!

Yes, that should be enough time.

Hi We fly BA into JFK arrive at 12.10, would we make a Jetblue Terminal 5 connection at 14.33? Thank you (have a Visa which may slow us down a little)

That will be very difficult, if not impossible.

Thank you Zap, I'll book a hotel near JFK & take the flight the following morning

I am considering frying Delta in early September from Mexico City to JFK, connecting to a Delta flight to Copenhagen. The layer-over between these two international flights is 1:47. Is that enough time to deplane, go through immigration (we are US citizens), pick up our checked luggage and go through customs, leave off our bags, and make it to our Copenhagen flight? I am skeptical, even though Delta offers this option.

It's not impossible but it certainly leaves no time to spare.

  • Baggage Storage in different terminal

I'm flying into JFK on JetBlue at 12:15 in terminal 5. My connecting flight to London is on Norwegian Air at 23:00 from terminal 1. I'd like to store my bags and go into the city. There's baggage storage at Terminal 1, but my question is: when I travel from terminal 5 to terminal 1, will I have to go through security in terminal 1 to get to baggage storage?

No - baggage storage is located outside security.

I am landing at JFK from Chicago on JetBlue at 12:03, which I believe lands in Terminal 5. I then have to catch a flight at 2:20 with Aeroflot in terminal 1. Do I need to grab my bags? Do I needs to security again? IS this enough layover time, almost 2 1/2 hrs?

If you purchased two separate reservations you will have to claim your bags in T5, take them with you on the AirTrain to T1, and re-check them and go through security. If your flight from Chicago is on-time you should have just enough time.

  • Connection Delta/Air France at JFK

Hello I'm gonna fly on a Delta flight from Quebec City (Canada) to JFK, arriving at T4 and then I have a connection to Paris CDG on an Air France flight (departing T1). Do I need to recheck my bags at the Delta re-check counter at T4 or do I need to recheck my bag at an Air France desk at T1? (these flights are on the same booking). Thank you

You will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk in T4, then take the AirTrain to T1 and go through security.

I'm arriving from Belgrade (international) at 5:25pm. Then, leaving American Airlines flight at 6:59pm. (Domestic) I have two separate itineraries.l, so will need to pick up checked bag. What are my options? Can I possibly request to check bag all the way through? Is this enough time? Should I purchase flight departing at 7:25 with delta instead, if that would help with time?

No, you will not have your bags checked through. Neither connection is sufficient. You realistically need at least 3 hours. If there are no later flights prepare to spend the night in New York.

The flight was delayed 2 hours so I will not make it. Can I request reimbursement or a voucher from either airline? I purchased a 9:30 flight in the meantime.

No, when you purchase two separate itineraries it is at your own risk.

  • transfer from jetblue to terminal 1

I will be doing a trip in october. Hope to take jetblue from D.C. to JFK and then to Italy. Have to go from terminal 5 to terminal 1. What is the quickest way to go between these terminals and what is the approximate time needed. Thanks so much

The only way between them is the AirTrain. I recommend at least 2.5 hours for this transfer.

I am a non-US citizen, flying from Amsterdam to JFK terminal 4. I am arriving to JFK at 1920; then I have a domestic flight for Rochester at 2055, from terminal 4, both flights are KLM. Will I have to go through immigration and Customs at JFK? Is 1 hour and 35 minutes going to be enough time? Thanks in advance.

Yes, you will arrive, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, and go through security. Your flight to Rochester will be operated by Delta Connection. You have just enough time if everything goes perfectly.

Im landing in JFK at 18:20 from chicago and getting on a plane for london at 20:30. So ive got just over two hours to make it. Its in the same terminal (Terminal 4). Its run by virgin but Delta is flying it. Will I have to go through security and customs? Or can I just jump straight into the same terminal? I also only have carry on baggage

All you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. There is no US Customs when leaving the US.

Fantastic news! Its sounds like common sense but Its gonna be my first time connecting and I had to pick JFk for doing that didnt I. Thank you!

Flying from AUH, arriving in JFK Terminal 4 going to Seattle via Jet Blue in Terminal 5 with 2H 30min lay over. Is this enough time considering security checks and do we have to take our checked luggage and rechecked again in terminal %?

IF both tickets are on the same reservation then your bags will be checked through to Seattle and all you have to do is take the AirTrain to T5 and go through security. If you have two separate reservations then you will have to claim your bags and re-check them with JetBlue in T5. You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Abu Dhabi. Either way you should have enough time.
