Hi- travelling (and booked thru Delta) from BOS connecting thru JFK to MEX, is 2 hours 36 minutes enough time to connect at JFK for the flight to MEX?

Yes, all you have to do in JFK is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. Note that if you arrive in Terminal 2, you can take a shuttle to Terminal 4 inside security. This assumes that your flight to MEX is actually operated by Delta. If it's operated by Aeromexico you will have to take the AirTrain to Terminal 1 and go through security, but you still have enough time.

I am arriving on avianca (terminal 4) at 9PM and departing on american airlines (terminal 8) at 9:42 PM. Is this enough time?

^^I will have a carry-on bag only. Thanks!

You have zero chance of making that. Plan on spending the night in New York.

Hi! I am flying IND via JFK to DXB. My flight to JFK arrives at 14:49 at Terminal 8. My flight to DXB departs at 16:30 from Terminal 4. I will not have checked bags. Is this enough time to connect?

With no checked bags it is possible but it leaves no time to spare. You'll have to take the AirTrain to Terminal 4, get your Emirates boarding pass if you don't already have it and go through security.

I will take JetBlue from FT Lauderdale to JFK arriving at 2305h and taking CX flight to HKG at 0130h, will there be enough time? They are issued in 1 ticekt

Yes, that should be enough time. You just have to take the AirTrain from T5 to T7, get your Cathay boarding pass if you don't already have it, and go through security. If the times you posted are right you have 2 hr 25 mins.

Hi! I am flying from LAX via JFK to LHR. All booked via AA/ codeshare BA. I have 50 minutes connecting time. Arriving terminal 8, Gate 36, departing from terminal 8, gate 40. Any chance to make it in 50 minutes?

Yes, that is definitely possible. All you have to do is walk from the first gate to the second gate and board your flight.

Hi, I'm traveling to MCO from LHR via JFK. I arrive at terminal 4 on virgin and depart for mco delta from terminal 2. There are 5 of us 2 adults and 3 children and we have 1hr and 50 mins between flights. is this enough time to clear customs ect. All flights are booked through delta. Thank you

That's barely enough time if everything goes perfectly.

I'm flying from Atlanta and making a transit at JFK and continue to Venice, Italy. Do I have reclaim my checked luggage at JFK and recheck them again?

If both flights are on Delta, no you do not. There is no US Customs when leaving the US.

I am from Hong Kong (HKG), on CX840; transit to DCA on CX7721. I have 2hr 40mins transit time. Do I have to take my language and go through the security during transit? Your help is very much appreciated.

Yes, you will arrive in Terminal 7, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then take the AirTrain to Terminal 8 and go through security. You have enough time.

    Thank you very much!

  • Connecting from Delta to Virgin at JFK

Hi, I will be arriving on a Delta flight from LAX and connecting to a Virgin Atlantic flight to the UK with a 2hr 28 min layover. Do I have to claim my baggage and recheck it, and do I have enough time? Thank you!

Also, do I have to go through security again if my LA flight comes in to Terminal 2? Thanks!

All LA flights arrive in Terminal 4. If both flights are on the same reservation you don't have to do anything with your bags - just walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

    Thank you!

  • Arriving Jet Blue Leaving for Marakesh

I made a tentative reservation on Air Maroc 203 at 8:35 AM Terminal 1. I am coming from BTV in theory on Jet Blue 233 arriving in Terminal 5 at 7:04 AM, using carry on luggage. Is this possible?

It's not outright impossible, but it's very very difficult. If that's the only flight to Marrakesh I would fly into New York the night before.

  • Need to go through security again from terminal 4 to terminal 1?

I am flying on Virgin America Flight VX34 from San Fran to JFK (Terminal 4 ?) but then I am taking an international flight to Naples, Italy (Meridiana - operated by Air Italy Terminal 1? ). Since both Terminals are considered international terminals, I believe, do I need to go through security again even though I only have carry-on luggage? Or just take Air Tran to Terminal 1

Yes, you have to take the AirTrain to Terminal 1 and go through security. It has nothing to do with them being "international terminals" or not. The only terminal at JFK that does not handle international flights at JFK is Terminal 2. There's no need to ask the same question twice.

Hi, I'm arriving at JFK at 18.30 on an internal shuttle flight from DC and depart at 21.00 on an international flight to UK with checked bags on both flights. I booked the flights separately, and they are with different airlines - would I need to collect and re-check my bag for the international flight and is that enough time to do this? THank you!

What airlines are you flying? You need to provide more information to answer this question.

hi sorry, it's delta with no checked bags or with checked bags - I'd like to check both options. thank you

and the transatlantic flight leaving at 21.00 is with virgin atlantic.

Is 1 hour & 40 minutes enough time to get through customs and go to Terminal 2? Any recommendations on how to get through quickly?

What airline are you flying into JFK? Where are you coming from? Are both tickets on the same reservation? Do you have checked bags?

  • Transfer at JFK from T4 to T5 in 1 hr 50 min

My parents are coming from ICN on OZ222 (arriving 11:30 AM) and will be transferring to JetBlue 2320 (departing 1:18 PM), with checked baggages. They need to clear customs and border control. I booked the jetblue flight without thinking too much, but I just realized that it might not be enough time to do so. Can someone give me an opinion?

also, how about the other way? JFK to ICN will depart at 13:25. I would like to book a flight arriving JFK at 11:17 AM. Would it be okay?

Is it two separate reservations or one reservation? If it's two separate reservations it's definitely not enough time.
