How much time would it typically take to get from main terminal to 5?
JFK does not have a "main terminal". What airline are you flying in on?
Jet blue
Then all of your flights will be in Terminal 5.
Thank you!
How much time does it take to walk from gate B6 264 to B6 787? Have a 40 min layover
Those aren't gate numbers, those are flight numbers. You won't know your exact gates until the day of your flight. All JetBlue gates in JFK are connected inside security and less than 10 minute walk apart.
Thank you!
I am travelling from MAN-DUB-JFK arrive 13:10pm - I want to travel JFK-PIT at 3:29 is this enough time for customs clearance, collect bags and re-check in and make the flight?
You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Dublin. What airlines are you flying?
Aer Lingus from UK and then looking to book Delta for JFK-PIT - wasn't sure 2 hours 15 minutes would be enough with flying internationally...
Your arrival into JFK will be like a domestic flight. That's just enough time if everything goes perfectly. You will arrive in Terminal 5 and depart from Terminal 4.
I arrive in JFK from PHX on Delta at 2:07 PM in Terminal 4. Carry on only. The connecting flight to Rome (FCO) is on Delta at 4:25 PM (2 hrs 18 minutes) They are not on the same reservation. Am I OK? Is there an inside security jitney?
All you should have to do in JFK is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. If you arrive in Terminal 2, there is a shuttle inside security to Terminal 4.
The Delta Flight is actually a code share operated by Alitalia. So I am assuming it would leave from Terminal #1. No inside security shuttle between 4 and 1, so I would need to board the Air Train and go to terminal 1, then through security. I can change my tickets to give me another 1.5 hours layover. Do you think it is worth it, it would cost $100
I definitely wouldn't switch to a SHORTER layover.
Sorry, I meant that I can switch flights and add 1.5 hours to the layover, so the new layover would be 3 hours 58 minutes instead of 2 hours 18 minutes. That change would cost $50 per ticket. Is it worth it? Delta says they would try to get me on a later flight if there is a delay and I miss my connection, but no guarantee there will be available seats.
2 hrs 18 minutes should be enough time. But it's up to you.
Hello, I arrive at jfk from Cuba at 558pm on jet blue. My connecting flight leaves at 734pm to Reno on jet blue T5. They are two different reservations. I have one checked bag and do not have global entry. Will I need to recheck my bag and will I have enough time to go through immigration and customs?
Try to call JetBlue and get the two reservations joined into one. You will still have to claim your bag in JFK to go through Customs, but you won't have to worry about the bag check cutoff. This is a very difficult connection with a checked bag.
Hello,,i am arriving to terminal 1 JFK with aeroflot from Moscow (with a toddler and his stroller) and we have to catch a fliht at terminal 4 to Boston with Felta. We have 2h30 . Can we make it to terminal 4 on time? Should i take our lugages with me and check it at T4 or can i dropp them off at T1? How to go from T4 to T1?
Thank you
That is just enough time. If it's all one reservation then you can re-check your bags at the re-check desk in T1, otherwise you will have to take them to T2 or T4 to re-check with Delta.
I'm flying from Kingston, Jamaica to JFK, where I have a 23 hour layover before heading to London Heathrow. Do I pick up my checked baggage at JFK or will it go through to London?
You will have to claim your luggage in JFK to go through US Customs and won't be able to check it again until before your flight to London.
I am flying from Denver to JFK on Jet Blue, and then to Israel on El Al. It's a single reservation, but there is a 13 hour layover at JFK. Does anyone know if my bag will be checked all the way through or if I will need to pick it up at JFK? I am told the check in for the El Al flight only opens 4 hours before the next flight!
Your bags should be checked all the way to Tel Aviv unless the connection is overnight.
I'm arriving Terminal 4 on Delta from Nice. Connecting to a Jetblue flight out of Terminal 5. I will have to go through customs, collect my bags check in at the Jetblue counter and go through security in Terminal 5. I have an hour and 53 minutes between connections. I have Global Entry. Do I have enough time to make my connecting flight?
With Global Entry you have a chance but it's still very risky.
I have a flight tomorrow night with only a 1hr 15min connection time. I land in JFK -terminal 4 (Virgin America) at 7:15pm, then depart Terminal 8 (LATAM) for an international flight at 8:30pm. Is this enough time with only 1 carry on?
With a carry on it's barely enough time if the first flight is on-time. It leaves no time to spare.
