Hi, I am arriving at JFK at 18.25 at Terminal 1 and my next flight is at 21.15 from Terminal 4. Could anyone tell me where I could get a taxi or a phone number which I could contact to book a taxi to transfer me from one to another terminal? Thank you

You cannot take a taxi between terminals. You have to take the AirTrain.

I'm travelling from Amman,Jordan to buffalo, i'm using Turkish airline to get from Amman to JFKI I will arrive at terminal 1 and need to go to terminal 5 to get jetblue flight from jfk to buffalo,i only have 1:50 minute layover, is it enough time to clear customs and switch terminals? I brought this as connected flight if I miss the buffalo flight is jetblue will compensate me free or serve me another seat on next flights? Alsoi want to ask if I want to use wheelchair there whom i should inform or tell.thanks

That should barely be enough time. If you need a wheelchair you need to contact your airlines.

I purchased through Delta on same ticket flying 3/7/15 DELTA 1247 PHOENIX 1:14pm to NYC-KENNEDY arriving 8:00pm Connecting to DELTA 468 to Tel Aviv departing 9:08pm. Is 1 hr 8 min enough time? Do I have to collect checked bag and re-check for Tel Aviv flight?

You do not have to claim your bag. You just have to go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. All Delta gates at JFK are connected inside security, but some require a shuttle bus to access. You have enough time if your first flight is on-time.

    thank you!

Hello! On the 21st of Feb i'm travelling from paris (af) to san juan, puerto rico via ny jfk. Flight to san juan is operated by delta, so i have to change terminals, will be 3,z hours enogh time? What happens if i miss my flight to san juan because of a delay because of weather? Hope not... thanks a lot for you help and answer.

Yes, 3 hours should be enough time. If you miss your connection due to a delayed first flight you will be put on the next available flight to San Juan.

  • Enough time to catch connection flight?

Hi, on a Tuesday I will arrive from Paris at 12.55pm (don´t know which terminal). Airline is Air France. Departure time for my connection flight (Endeavor Air DBA Delta Connection) to Jacksonville will be 2.45pm (don´t know which terminal) . Is 1hr 50min enough time to go through the whole process and catch the connection flight? Both flights were booked on one ticket with Delta. Is Delta going to pay for another later connection flight if I miss the scheduled one? Any help would be appreciated.Thanks.

You will arrive in Terminal 1, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the transfer desk, then take the AirTrain to Terminal 4 where your flight to Jacksonville will depart, go through security and to your departure gate. You should have enough time. If you do miss your connection because your first flight is delayed you will either be rebooked on the 8:15 PM flight to Jacksonville or to Jacksonville with a connection in Atlanta, free of charge.

Thanks for your help ZAP. But what if I miss my connection flight not because my first flight was delayed but because for some other reason, like the long waiting line at the immigration desks or anything like that. Are they still going to rebook free of charge?

    Yes, they will

Arriving at T1 via PAL at 0730 and connecting with JetBlue at T5 at 09:55 with luggage to check in. Do I have enough time after immigration etc. Travelling w/ US passport and has never been to JFK. Thanks for any help.

That should barely be enough time if your PAL flight is on-time. After you clear customs you will take your bags with you on the AirTrain to T5 and check your bags at the JetBlue counter.

Thanks ZAP. Got to hurry up then.

Hi, I'll be landing from Bogota, Colombia at 10PM (Terminal 4), and departing to Athens, Greece at 11:55PM (Terminal1), on separate tickets. Is it enough time? Do I still need to go through customs even though I will not stay in the U.S.? Can I have my luggage sent directly to Athens (the airlines are of the same alliance, if that makes any difference), Thanks!!!

No,. That's not really enough time. You have to go through US Immigration and you have to claim your bags even if you get them checked through to Athens in order to go through US Customs. It's not completely impossible, but it will be very very difficult to get to the check-in desk in Terminal 1 by the baggage check cutoff.

Travelling into JFK from Manchester, UK, later in year and have 2hr 40 min wait before our connecting flight to Boston (all booked with Delta airlines). Is this enough time to go through immigration and make connecting flight?

Yes, that should be enough time.

My non-speaking relatives are arriving at JFK(terminal4). After going through immigration/baggage/customs - I`m afraid they`ll get confused as to how and where to go, which train to take. Is there any airport service/ outside company that can provide meeting outside of the customs+ getting to the next terminal? I know LA airport has such outside non profit organization, it was helpful to use them in the past. thanks in advance for your responce or advice

Hi, I am planing to travel through JFK this summer and I have 7 hours layover time. So I decided to go United Club located in Terminal 7. However my flight from clevland (CLE) directly go to terminal 8 in JFK. My question is, once I touch the Terminal 8 JFK, can I directly going to United Club located in terminal 7 without security checking or with security checking ?. I acctually want to skip security checking twice in both terminals entering. Thanks !

No, there is no secure-side connection between Terminal 7 and Terminal 8.

Hi, On 1st week of June, we will be arriving JFK on a SQ FRA/JFK flight at 1110 am. Trying to connect 130pm Delta to Orlando or 150pm Jet Blue to Orlando. Is there enough time for connection? Or we should take the 350pm/4pm flight to Orlando instead?

Since you're booking separate tickets, I would go with the 350 or 4pm flights.

One ticket booked with Delta. 46 mins between Orlando flight landing and flight to Heathrow departing. Will we have to collect bags (both flights operated by Delta) and will we have time......

No, you will not have to collect your bags. You just have to go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. Both flights should be in Terminal 4, but there's a chance you will arrive in Terminal 2. If so a shuttle bus will bring you to Terminal 4 without having to go through security. You should have enough time if your first flight is on-time.

Travelling from MAD (Iberia/American), a 2hour layover at JFK, then to YUL (American) . Will b in JFK on a Sat afternoon in August. One ticket. Do we need to claim bagage, and then check again if final destination is in Montreal? Is 2 hours enough? Thx!

Yes, you will arrive in Terminal 7 if your flight from MAD is operated by Iberia, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the transfer desk, then take the AirTrain one stop to Terminal 8, go through security and to your departure gate. You will go through Canadian Immigration and Customs in Montreal. If your flight from Madrid is operated by American, then everything will be in Terminal 8.

I will arrive on Feb28 at 10:45pm, from Mexico AEROMEXICO (Term 1). My other flight is at 12:50am March01 from JKF-Hong Kong by CATHAY PACIFIC (Term 7). Is my first time on JFK Airport. Do you think i have enough time? I bought the flights in the same ticket, should I have any problem if I lose a flight? What should I do to avoid this and achieve my trip? Should I contact both Airlines?

Yes, that should be enough time if your first flight is on-time. Immigration hall should be empty at that time and you'll be able to drop your bags at the transfer desk in T1 after clearing customs. Then you'll take the AirTrain from T1 to T7, get your Cathay boarding pass if you don't already have it, then go through security.
