If I am on a domestic flight arriving at terminal 8 at 10:20 p.m. and have an international connection(not on the same airline) at :30 a.m. (2 hrs and 10 minutes) leaving terminal 7 - is it safe to reserve that domestic flight?

Yes, that should be enough time, even if it's two separate itineraries and you have to transfer baggage yourself.

My flight arrives at JFK Terminal 4 at 2:30pm and have a flight out of Terminal 7 at 6:30 pm. Do I have enough time and is it easy to get around to find out how to get there?

Yes, that should be plenty of time. The AirTrain connects all Terminals outside security.

I am concerned because I have a short layover, 1hr15min at JFK. Is this enough time to transfer?

Yes, that should be enough time. You will arrive in terminal 2 or 4. You will take the AirTrain to Terminal 1 and go through security. Assuming both tickets were purchased together your baggage will be transferred for you and you will be issued both boarding passes in Austin.

Hi, I am traveling from LAX to ZRH with a 2hr 15min connection at JFK with American Airlines all on one ticket. At JFK, am I required to claim my luggage and re-check it or is it taken care of by the airline? Also, since I will be arriving at the domestic terminal, will I need to take a shuttle to the international terminal for my departure, or will I be departing from the same terminal as my arrival? Thanks so much.

No, there us No US Customs when leaving the US. All American Airlines flights are in Terminal 8. All you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You have plenty of time.

    Great, thank you!

I will be arriving into T4 JFK from Milan and connecting to DCA all on Delta Airlines. The connection time is 1:39 minutes. Do I have enough time to clear customs and re-check my luggage?

Yes, that should be barely enough time.

Hi my daughter is coming home after her year at uni at USF. When she arrives from tampa into JFK will she have to collect her bagsnandnrecheck them in for her London Heathrow flight even though both flights are with Delta on 1 ticket?

No, there is no US Customs when leaving the US. All she has to do is go from her arrival gate to her departure gate. She will arrive in Terminal 2 or 4 and depart from Terminal 4. Delta runs a shuttle bus inside security if she needs to change terminals.

Thank you so much! She has 2 large cases and a rucksack and was stressing about it.

Flying on Delta from Austin, TX with a connection(same airline) to Buffalo, NY. Is 1hr 17min enough time to make the connection

Yes, that should be enough time. Delta uses both Terminals 2 and 4 for domestic flights. If you need to change terminals Delta runs a shuttle bus inside security between the two terminals.

Hello I am going from PEK (beijing arrive jfk 10.20am with air china, I then have a connection at 11.20am jfk to Miami with us airways on a new ticket is the 50 min window enough time, I will have no luggage, from the uk with esta? I am trying to get to family funeral the cheapest way possible from aia to kingston thanks

NOOO!!!!!! That is not enough time to clear immigration and customs, change terminals, and get through security. I mean, maybe if the flight is really early you'd have a chance, but I really don't recommend trying it.

thanks I have no real idea will keep looking fo 2 hous min?

Yes, 2 hours would be the bare minimum if purchasing two separate tickets.

    thanks

Hi, I am arriving into JFK from Dublin on a Sunday at 3:45pm. Is there time to go through customs and make a 6:30pm flight to LAX on Jet Blue? Do you know which terminals I would arrive and transfer to

Yes, that should be plenty of time. You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Dublin. What airline are you flying from Dublin? JetBlue uses Terminal 5 at JFK.

Great, we will be on American from Dublin

Then you will arrive in Terminal 8

  • Toronto > JFK (T7) > JFK (T4) > Dubai

Hoping for some good advice/guidance... I am flying from Toronto to JFK on Air Canada, landing at 9:57am in T7 (AC8902), and have a connection on Emirates (204) leaving JFK T4 at 11:20. I'm worried the 1 hr 23 mins is not sufficient to collect bags in T7, transit to t4, check in bags again plus go through security at T4?

It's possible but it won't be easy. I personally would not have booked that connection. It leaves no time to spare at all.

  • Arriving T1 from FCO, connecting T8 domestic, 1h50 connection

I am flying into JFK T1 at 6:10pm from Rome with Alitalia and my connection is a domestic flight to BOS at 8:00pm with American from T8. This is on a the same ticket sold by Air France. Will I need to carry my checked bags to T8 departures to re-check them or does American have a transfer desk at T1? Also, that Alitalia flight runs late pretty often, is there an AF transfer desk at T1 in case we need to be put on the next flight to BOS?

Are you SURE your flight to Boston is on American? as they are not a partner of Air France. If you purchased all your tickets on one reservation you will be able to re-check your bags in T1. There likely isn't a later flight on AA to Boston.

Yes it is on American to Boston. But I bought the ticket on Priceline and the ticket is an Air France ticket (057). That is why I am scared if there are any delays.

Yes, if there are delays you'll either be stuck in New York overnight or have to buy a ticket on the 10:55 PM JetBlue flight.

  • Term 5 to Term 4. 1:30 for flight

Going on EK6734 to Term 5 and boarding EK202 at terminal 4. With young kids. Can i make it or its too close? Also is EK6734 reliable?

EK6734 is JetBlue flight 1808. Delays at JFK are common in the summer. However, if your flight is on-time or even up to 30 minutes late I think you should be OK. All you have to do is take the AirTrain from T5 to T4 and go through security.

I'm landing to JFK 15:50 (Finnair T8) and should be catching a flight to Vegas departing 18:45 (Delta/ T2). Am I able to do it, or should I be trying to change my ticket?

That should be enough time. Please note that Delta domestic flights can depart from Terminal 2 or 4, so check delta.com upon landing if you can. Unless you were able to purchase your tickets on one reservation you will also have to transfer your bags yourself from Terminal 8 to Terminal 2 or 4.

  • Connection time to Terminal 1

I'm flying out from Terminal 1 with Norwegian to Stockholm at 9:55pm. I will be coming in from Miami, and I can book either the American arriving at 6:30pm at Terminal 8, or with Delta arriving at 6:00pm. Which of them is better for connecting with the Norwegian flight? This is on the 10th of August. Or should I be coming in even earlier (the previous flight arrives at 3:30 so it feels a bit early....)

Either should be fine. Both are a similar distance on the AirTrain from Terminal 1. I would personally book the Delta flight.

  • Flight Connection (domestic -- international)

I have an hour and 15 minute connection at JFK. I am arriving from SFO and making a connecting flight to Dakar, both flights on Delta. Will this be enough time to make my connection? Do Delta flights arrive in the same terminal? Thanks!

Domestic Delta flights can arrive in Terminal 2 or 4. You will depart from Terminal 4. If you arrive in Terminal 2, Delta runs a shuttle bus inside security to Terminal 4. You have enough time if your first flight is on-time.
