Hi, my wife and my two kid's will be arriving from an international flight and they have connection flight to Seattle via Delta Airlines. I need to know could they chang the terminals? and what is the procedures? thx

It depends on your flight arriving on-time and immigration going quickly, because if you bought two separate tickets you will need to transfer your bags by yourself and have your bags to T7 an hour before your flight.

I have 45 minutes to go from a domestic JetBlue flight to an international JetBlue flight. Is that enough time ?

That should be enough time if your first flight is on-time. All JetBlue gates are connected inside security in Terminal 5.

  • Waiting for friends at Terminal 8
    Mar 16, 2015
Will be arriving at JFK T4 7 hrs earlier than my friends at JFK T8. Will I be allowed to go to T1 resto/s to pass the time, and will head to T8 to meet my friends (arrivals area) later on? Any suggestions where to pass the time best? Do boingo wifi services work on all terminals if I try to avail of their 24-hr package? Thank you in advance.

You won't be allowed in the secure area of any terminals. Yes, Boingo service should work in any terminal if you purchase it.

I heard that there is some "vouchers " that allow you to skip the immigration line (or go with a shorter line) for passengers who are connecting flight. Is there true? If so, where/how to get those "vouchers"

No such thing in the U.S.

I am flying from Barcelona to Toronto, layoff at JFK via American Airline (1 tickets). Do I have to claim baggage and via custom at JFK? Is 2 hours enough for transfer?

Yes, in JFK you will have to go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the transfer desk, then go through security and to your departure gate. You will go through Canadian immigration and customs when you get to Toronto.

    So will 2 hr enough?

    Yes, it should be

I am flying form Toronto into JFK terminal 4 and departing one hour later form terminal two, both flights are Delta. Does my luggage transfer through or do i have to pick it up? Also, how do we get from one terminal to the other?

Delta will transfer your baggage. Delta also runs a shuttle bus inside security between T4 and T2. Also, few Delta flights use T2 anymore as T4 was recently expanded.

I have a Delta flight from LAX to JFK landing at terminal 4 and then an AlItalia Flight leaving from terminal 1 1:45 minutes later. All flights were purchased at the same time on the same ticket through Delta. Will we have enough time and will we have to go through security? I will have checked bags but understand that those will be forwarded on to my final destination.

Sorry, the AlItalia flight is to FCO (Rome), not FCU. So LAX-JFK-FCO.

Yes, that should be plenty of time to take the AirTrain to T1 and go through security.

I will be arriving from Jordan to JFK at 18:15 (terminal 8) and leaving to Toronto at 19:59 via American Airlines from the same terminal (8), in one ticket. Is 1:44 minutes enough for connection?

  • Flying from Milano with Delta
    Mar 11, 2015
I arrive from Milan through Alitalia/delta DL1045 14th March at 17.15 Terminal 1, and have to go to Terminal 2 DL2502 with take-off at 19.05.Would I have enough time? How can I move from Terminal 1 to 2?

That should be barely enough time. After you clear customs and re-check your bags you will be outside security and follow the signs to the AirTrain. Take the AirTrain one stop from T1 to T2. Then you will go through security.

Did you purchase your tickets separately or together? You will have to go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US CUstoms, then re-check your bags. You can re-check your bags at the transfer desk if you purchased one ticket but will have to take them to the AA ticket counter if you did not. Then you will have to go through security.

I purchased them in one ticket and will not have bags ( I will have only hand bag) so you think the transit time 1:44 is enough

Yes, I think that will be enough time then.

  • Flying from Madrid to NY: Leaving with Jet Blue
    Mar 10, 2015
I arrive from Madrid through Iberia at Terminal 7 around 7:15pm and have to transfer to Terminal 5 to catch my Jet Blue flight which is scheduled to leave around 9:16pm. I have 2 hours in between these two flight. Is it enough time to get through customs, recheck luggage, and pass through security again?

If you purchased your tickets together then that should be barely enough time. If you purchased two separate tickets that will be quite difficult.

  • Flying with Delta on 1 ticket but changing at Jfk
    Mar 9, 2015
We are going to be flying from London to Toronto with Delta on 1ticket with a layover of 88 mins in JFK. We are worried this may not be enough time as we do not know if we need to pass through customs & immigration or collect & re-check our bags? You have mentioned on other posts about Terminal 4 & Delta's new procedures for connections so I assume they will help us make the connecting flight?

That is 2 minutes shorter than the recommended connection time. Yes, you will arrive in Terminal 4, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, then re-check your bags at the transfer desk, then go through security and to your departure gate, which should also be in Terminal 4.

  • Baggage transfer for connecting flights

Hi, I will be traveling on delta from GNV to JFK, eta is 3 pm. My next flight is on SQ to Singapore at 9 pm. I understand that delta will not check my baggage thru to my final destination. As this is new to me, may I have your advice on the process to check in my baggage. Thank you.

Claim your baggage from Delta in Terminal 2 or Terminal 4 where you arrive, bring it to the Singapore Airlines check-in counter in Terminal 4. Get your Singapore Airlines boarding pass, go through security. It's quite simple.

Thank you for the quick reply. Do I need to clear immigration after collecting my baggage? Also, do you know whether I can check in immediately with Singapore Airlines or do i have to wait as I understand check-in counters only open around 2 hours before flight. I would like to check-in early to walk around T4 and use the lounge if possible. Thanks.

You do not go through US Immigration and Customs when leaving the US and Gainesville and New York are both located in the United States, so you don't go through US Immigration on that flight either. The Singapore check-in counter probably opens more like 3-4 hours before the flight. They have a lot of passengers to process.
