I am flying from Denver to JFK on Jet Blue, and then to Israel on El Al. It's a single reservation, but there is a 13 hour layover at JFK. Does anyone know if my bag will be checked all the way through or if I will need to pick it up at JFK? I am told the check in for the El Al flight only opens 4 hours before the next flight!
Your bags should be checked all the way to Tel Aviv unless the connection is overnight.
I'm arriving Terminal 4 on Delta from Nice. Connecting to a Jetblue flight out of Terminal 5. I will have to go through customs, collect my bags check in at the Jetblue counter and go through security in Terminal 5. I have an hour and 53 minutes between connections. I have Global Entry. Do I have enough time to make my connecting flight?
With Global Entry you have a chance but it's still very risky.
I have a flight tomorrow night with only a 1hr 15min connection time. I land in JFK -terminal 4 (Virgin America) at 7:15pm, then depart Terminal 8 (LATAM) for an international flight at 8:30pm. Is this enough time with only 1 carry on?
With a carry on it's barely enough time if the first flight is on-time. It leaves no time to spare.
Hi, i'm travelling from UK to Canada with my 2 kids. We arrive on Virgin at JFK Term 4 at 16:30. I'm looking to fly out with Air Canada at 19:55 from Term 8. I'll be changing airlines, so no through ticket, so i'll have to clear security, collect my bags, re-check my bags and back out through security. Is 3h 25m enough time?
Air Canada does not use Terminal 8. They use Terminal 7. Yes, that should be enough time.
I am travelling to Buffalo via JFK on Sunday. My flight with Virgin Atlantic arrives in JFK at 14:50 and my connecting flight (with Delta) departs at 16:26. I am assuming I will need to go through Security/Customs etc but will I need to collect my luggage or will this be automatically transferred? Thank you.
Yes, you will have to go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, and go through security and to your departure gate. You have just enough time if everything goes smoothly.
