  • British Airways - Delta enough time?
    Mar 29, 2014

Hi, Me and a friend are travelling from London Heathrow to Terminal 8 JFK with British Airways, then to Austin, Texas with Delta from JFK Terminal 2. We have a 3 hour stop over at JFK, Will this be enough time to get to Terminal 2 and check in? The flights have been booked separately. We intend to check in online with delta before we leave. How long before departure do we have to be at the gate? What is the latest time our bags have to be at the drop off location? Thank you in advance. BN

Apologies we arrive into terminal 7 at JFK

Yes, that should be enough time. You should be at the gate 30 minutes prior to departure. However, the bag cutoff for Delta at JFK is 60 minutes. So you will need to be at their check-in counter 1 hour before your flight.

Hi, I´m traveling from LAX (with Delta airlines) to JFK and then to Gothenburg (with Air Berlin) on two seperate tickets. I arrive in JFK at 3:11 PM on Sunday 4th of May and departure for Gothenburg is at 5:30 PM. Is 2 h 20 min enough time for getting from one terminal to other including immigration control and collecting luggage?

Since both LA and New York are in the United States you will not have to go through Immigration in New York. All you will have to do is claim your baggage in Terminal 4, then take your bags on the AirTrain to Terminal 8 to check them with Air Berlin. You should have enough time but there's not much buffer time for delays.

Hi, me and my friends are traveling from Moscow SVO to JFK and then to LAX. We arrive in JFK at 5:10 PM on Saturday 28th of June and departure for US Airways (operated by American Airlines) to LAX is at 7:20 PM. Is 2 h 20 min enough time for getting from one terminal to other including immigration control?

It should be enough time. Aeroflot and American do have an interline baggage agreement so if you purchased your tickets on one reservation Aeroflot should be able to check your bags through to American. You will take the AirTrain from your T1 arrival to depart from T8.

  • Connection times from Delta to Aeroflot

Flying in from Austin on Delta to connect with Aeroflot flight to Kharkov, Ukraine. Have 1 hr 38 minutes between flights? Is that enough time or should I switch my flight schedule?

That will be enough time if your first flight is on-time. Delta should be able to check your bags through to Aeroflot and issue your Aeroflot boarding passes in Austin. In JFK all you will have to do is go take the Airtrain from T4 or 2 to T1 and go through security.

  • Terminal 8 - Catching my next flight

I will be flying from Orlando to New York and catch my next flight to Doha using Qatar Airways with a window of 1hr 35mins. Is it enough time for me to catch the next flight?

What airline are you flying to new york? Were your domestic and international tickets bought separately or together?

  • Virgin America to Singapore Airlines connections.

I will be flying LAX-JFK-FRA with Virgin America and Singapore Airlines. I am wondering how easy the connection process is between both airlines. I will have 1 hour with 50 minutes to do this connection. Will it be enough?

If your tickets were bought on one reservation then Virgin America can check your bags through to Singapore. Both of your flights will be in Terminal 4 so if your first flight is on-time and your bags are checked through you should have plenty of time and even if you can't get your bags checked through the connection is makeable.

I booked all my flights on one ticket so I will be good on this aspect. It will even give me time to try out the Shake Sack.

Hi ..I arrive on an international flite American at Term 8, 705PM and have a connecting flight out of Jet Blue Terminal Term 5 @ 850pm. I need to pass immigration, collect baggage and recheck baggage. Is 1 hour and minutes sufficient time assuming all are on time? I have traveled thru JFK before, know about trains but wondering about timing. Is 110 minutes enough? Many thnx ;-)

It's cutting it close, it doesn't leave much room for any delays, especially if AA doesn't check your bags through to JetBlue and you have to transfer them on the airtrain yourself.

The American flight wasn't purchased at the same time as the Jet Blue flight so I yes I would have to schlep the luggage myself. Thanks for the response!

Another ?..if I was 2 stay the night and take a differnt flight the following day what are the hotel options nearest 2 the airport? Cheers

We are arriving from Amsterdam (KLM) and our next plane is a Jetblue. We have to pass customs and pick up our luggage. Is 3h enough time?

Yes, that should be enough time if your first flight is on-time. You will get between Terminal 4 and Terminal 5 using the AirTrain/Air Terminals Train.

My flight from Brazil arrive at JFK 06:11 AM by Delta and my next flight do Miami will be at 09:20 AM by American Airlines. Is there enough time? Tks

Yes, that should be enough time, even if you have to transfer bags yourself (if you booked the two tickets separately you will have to transfer the bags yourself on the AIrTrain from T4 to T8).

My friend arrives from Russia Terminal 1 at 1:20 pm. The connecting flight is Delta, Terminal 4 at 3.30 pm on a weekday. Enough time?

I am arriving at JFK at 22:00 on April 5th (Terminal 4) from Bogotá, Colombia and have a flight connection. My next flight will be departing at 00:50 to Seoul from terminal 1. Is that time enoguh to reach my next flight on time?. How easy is to move from terminal 1 to terminal 4? Thank you

It should be enough time. All Terminals are connected outside security by the AirTrain/Air Terminals Train. You will need approximately 1 hour to get through immigration and customs and 45 minutes to get to T1 and through security. So there's not much time for delays but you should have enough time.

I will arrive from fort lauderdale to jfk on jet blue at terminal 5 and will have 1 hr and 38 min as a layover to my next flight on egyptair at terminal 4 would i have enough time to catch the flight and do they send my luggage to the final destination or i will have to pick them up? My flight is on 24 march

JetBlue and Egyptair do have an interline agreement, so if you bought your tickets together JetBlue should be able to check your bags through to Egyptair. If they can't I don't think you will have enough time to claim them and get them to the Egyptair counter before their bag cutoff.
