  • Connecting time from CDG to MCO (T4 to T2)
    Oct 2, 2013

Hello, I'm fying from CDG to MCO on next January, arriving at JFK at 13:25 (terminal4), and having a connecting flight at 15:50 (terminal2). So, Have I enough time to take my connection ? I hope the climatic conditions in January won't be difficult. May be it's better to change my connecting flight to ensure myself to arrive without any problem... Thank you, Florent

You will need to go through passport control, pick up bags, go through security check and re-check-in your bag. As to JFK: Delta has a gate-to-gate bus transfer between Terminals 4 & 2.

Thank you for your answer. I didn't know that there is a delta bus between t2 and t4. I thought having to take airtrain. So, do you think that 2h45 are enough for my connexion or is it better to modify my flights ? Thanks you !

This is 2h25 of connexion in fact

Since you will already be outside security after you go through customs, it is likely that it will be faster for you to take the Airtrain. You should have enough time with the connection you have. Any weather delay is more likely to delay the JFK-MCO flight than your CDG-JFK flight.

thank you for you answers. I was anxious about my connecting time, as you say it will be enough, that is perfect. I hope the passport check will be fast, may be is there a specifc line for connexion... A last question : beyond customs and after recheck my luggage, is it possible to drop my luggage at terminal 2 or may i have to transport them until terminal 4 ? Thank you !

There is no line for connections - most passengers on the flight will be connecting. Remember that you are arriving in 4 and departing from 2. There is a re-check desk right after you exit customs. You will not have to take your bags to T2 with you yourself.

Arriving from CDG at 1:17pm and departing to SJU 2:55pm both on Delta flights. Do we have enough time to make this?

That will be difficult but it's probably doable. You'll have to hope your first flight is on-time. Delta has an evening flight to SJU most days if you miss your connection.

I'm flying into jfk with delta in December at 16.10 terminal 4 and have a conecting flight with delta to Quebec at 18.00 terminal 2. Will I have time I'm a uk citerzen.

That will be difficult. YOu will clear US immigration, claim your bags, go through customs, then re-check your bags with Delta. Then you'll have to take the AirTrain/Air Terminals Train from T4 to T2 and go back through security and to your gate.

Hey, I´m flying to JFK from HEL arriving at 15:50. Connecting flight to LAX from the same terminal T8 departures at 16:55. Do i have enough time to change?

No, that is not enough time. You will have to go through immigration, collect your bags, go through customs and re-check them, then go back through security. That will be very difficult to do at peak time in only 65 minutes.

Hello! I'm EU Citizen and i'll be returning to JFK Terminal 5 from Nassau (with Jetblue). I have a time gap of 2hrs15min to get on the Austrian Airlines flight to vienna on Terminal 1. is that enough time? do i need to go thru immigration & security again? thank you

You will pre-clear US Immigration in Nassau. Jetblue and Austrian do not have an interline agreement, so you will have to claim your baggage and take it on the AirTrain/Air Terminals Train to Terminal 1. You will really have to hurry and hope your flight from Nassau is on-time. You will have to go through security again in Terminal 1 after you check your bags.

    Thank you very much!

we are flying to JFK from CUN, have to collect bags and re-check in for flight to Europe. is two hours enough? thank you!

What airlines are you flying? Even on the same airline that will be very difficult.

from CUN to JFK with aeromexico, from JFK to OSL with Norwegian

I highly doubt you will have enough time for that connection - you should not have bought it. You will have to go through US immigration, claim your bags, go through customs, then take your bags upstairs and check in with Norwegian. Unless your Aeromexico flight is very early you will have a hard time doing that in enough time.

thank you for your response - can you estimate how much time do we need?

I Am flying on Virgin Atlantic into JFK Terminal 4, I land at 12:15 and need to go through immigration collect baggage, Transfer to Terminal 2 for a delta flight, and check in. My connecting flight leaves at 14:55, is this going to be enough time?

You have enough time for transfer: Take your bags after customs clearance onto the 'Airline Terminals' train (follow signs), running every few minutes, but counter-clockwise: After boarding it at T4, it will stop at T3, and get you to T2, where you go to the departure level and check in your bags with Delta, go through security check and on to your gate.

Our Delta flight from CMH arrives 7:30 pm at terminal 2 gate 70. Our departing delta flight departs 8:37pm from terminal 4 gate B 36. Will we and our bags have enough time to connect?

If your first flight is on-time that should be enough time. Delta runs a shuttle bus between Terminal 2 and 4 that runs inside security, so take that.

My friends are flying Air Berlin from Copenhagen via Dusseldorf landing in JFK on Tuesday. In which terminal will they be landing?

Air Berlin flights operate in and out of Terminal 8.

Perfect. Thanks for the quick reply. Can I meet my friends in terminal 8? I will be landing in terminal 4.

Yes, you could take the AirTrain to T8 and meet them at the exit of Customs there.

We will be returning to JFK via El Al from Israel at 4:10 pm. How much time should we figure for customs? Need to make our train reservation in advance to Baltimore.

It will take you at least 3, probably closer to 4 hours from the time you land to when you can expect to be on a train at Penn station.

I come from L A to terminal 7 , My sister comes from Argentina terminal 8 . We want to meet inside , what is the best place ??? she has to do customs , etc I don't . Please tell me the best place to meet and easy !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think it best that you meet your sister at JFK's Terminal 8 - near the Transportation Information counters on the Arrivals level, where she will emerge after customs clearance. When you arrive at T7, look for the 'Airline Terminals Train' sign which runs counter-clockwise from T7, (to T6,5,4,3,1), and 8 (10-15 mins).

  • Connection time 1.5h between Terminal 4 and 2

I'll be arriving at JFK Terminal 4 form EU and catching a domastic flight at Terminal 2. Connection time is 1.5h. I'm not US citizen. Is 1.5h is enogh?

That's a very tight connection. I think there's a good chance you'll miss your connection, so be prepared for that.

Arriving from Boston to jfk on AA256 at 19:35. Need to catch the Emirates flight to Singapore EK 202 departing at 23:00 from terminal 4 jfk. What's the fastest way to do this? Can AA help with checking in my bags through to Singapore from Boston so that I do not have to collect/check-in my bags again at jfk? I do not have AA on my Emirates itinerary. Thanks!

You can ask the AA desk in Boston but they aren't required to check the bags through to Emirates for you. The only way to do your connection is to take the AirTrain/Air Terminals Train from T8 to T4 at JFK. If your bags aren't checked through to Singapore, you'll have to claim them first. However, you have a ton of time so you'll be OK unless your flight from Boston is heavily delayed.

    Thank you!

  • CONNECTING FLIGHT TIME AT JFK

I will be arriving at JFK terminal 4 aboard an international flight and catching a domestic flight at terminal 2 afterwards. The transit time is 2 hours and 40min and I wanted to know whether this would be sufficient.

That should be enough time. The fastest way to get between terminals, since you will already be outside security, is to take the AirTrain and go back through security in T2 after you re-check your bags in T4. http://www.delta.com/content/www/en_US/traveling-with-us/airports-and-aircraft/airports/new-york-jfk.html

Where does the Delta shuttle leave from in T2 and where does it drop off in T4? Also, how often does the shuttle run between the terminals.

It runs from C60 to B23 and runs nearly continuously. http://www.delta.com/content/www/en_US/traveling-with-us/airports-and-aircraft/airports/new-york-jfk.html
