I need to go from terminal 4 to terminal 2.

Delta runs a shuttle between the two terminals http://www.delta.com/content/www/en_US/traveling-with-us/airports-and-aircraft/airports/new-york-jfk.html

Travelling from Brussels to JFK on the 7th of june with DELTA 141. probably arriving at T4 at 1pm. then connecting to Orlando on DELTA 4 at 4pm. enough time? do i need to claim Luggage and recheck them in?

Yes, that should be enough time. You will claim your baggage in immigration and then immediately re-check it with Delta once you leave customs.

Hi there, Our schedule is PVG(Shianghai)-JFK-FLL. We will fly with China Eastern to JFK Terminal 1 and move to terminal 4 Delta. Time to arrive is 1:15 pm and depart 3:40 pm . 2.25 hrs transit time enough for JFK?? or unrealistic? Thanks!

You have enough time. On arrival at JFK, you need to go through security check, pick up bags, go through customs clearance and then re-check-in your bags. Check with China Eastern whether they will transfer your bags to Delta flight; if not, you need to take your bags along and check them in at your connecting terminal's Delta counter. The 'Airline Terminals Train' runs on average every 8 mins from T1 (making stops at: T8, T7, T5 & T4) in the unsecured terminal areas. On arrival at your connecting terminal you need to go through security check before proceeding to your gate. IMPORTANT: Do check with Delta, which - as of May 24, used the newly expanded T4 only for flights to Amsterdam, NL, Georgetown, Guyana, St. Georges, Grenada & San Juan, P.R. - and all others at either T2 or T3.

    Thank you, wemay13 :)

Note that there are no more flights from Terminal 3, it is closed. All Delta flights now used 2 or 4.

Thank you for your advice, ZAP! I'll note that.

  • is a 56 minute transfer enough time?

I am traveling from MSP>JFK>SVO (Moscow) on Friday, May 24th. I am flying Delta all the way. I should arrive at JFK at 15:14 and depart for Moscow at 16:10, which is only a 56 minute layover. My flight is scheduled to arrive in Terminal 2 and depart from Terminal 4. I plan on taking the Delta shuttle so I do not have to go through security. How much time do you think this will take?

You will have enough time if your first flight is on-time, but JFK is delay prone, especially that time of day, so anything could happen.

Hello, I will be traveling from SFO to BCN with a stop over in JFK on March 29th. I would like to know if I will need to claim bags at JFK and re-check bags? I'll be flying Delta from SFO to JFK and Delta again from JFK to BCN. Thanks so much for your help!

No, you will not have to do anything with your bags in JFK on your way TO Spain.

We arrive from Heathrow in terminal 7 on BA 117 at 11.00 and then have to get to terminal 8 for American Airlines flight AA1635 at 14.55 to San Juan, Puerto Rico, is there transportation between these terminals. Also will we have to claim our luggage and re check it in for American Airlines

Yes, you will have to claim your luggage in immigration, then re-check it once you exit customs. Then you take the Airtrain one stop from T7 to T8, then go through security and to your gate. You should have enough time.

When we have claimed luggage in immigration do we re check it after customs in T7 before we get Airtrain to T8

Because of the AA and BA codeshare, you will likely be able to re-check it in T7.

I will arrive JFK New York Kennedy Airport terminal 4 at 1055hrs via SQ and need to depart from terminal 2 at 1435hrs to baltimore international airport via Delta. How to travel from T4 to T2? Any security check in between? Is the time sufficient? Do I need to re-check in my baggage? Thank you.

After going through customs you should be able to re-check your baggage with Delta, then take the Airtrain to T2 and go through security (you may have to pick up your boarding pass from Delta first). You should have plenty of time.

    Thank you so much!

  • Time from Terminal 3 to Terminal 1

We are arriving at JFK on Delta flight at terminal 3 at 2:51. Making a connecting Delta flight (via Alitalia) to FCO leaving from terminal 1 at 5:25 . Will we have enough time? What is quickest way to get to terminal 1? Will we have to go through security again? All flights made on one reservation. Thanks!

You will have to take the AirTrain and go through security again, but if your first flight is on-time you'll have enough time.

Thanks so much for your response!

We have a 7 hour layover. Our flights arrive and depart from Terminal 3 but we would like to eat in terminal 5. Would we have to go through security both to enter terminal 5 and then to re-enter terminal 3?

On arrival at T3, take the 'Airline Terminals Train' which serves all terminals outside of security (follow signs). As each airline has its own rules, check with your airline whether they will automatically transfer to your connecting flight or if you need to re-check-in your bags, particularly if you use 2 different airlines.

Hi, I am flying Delta from San Francisco to JFK, arriving 8pm and then getting another Delta flight to Dublin at 9.30 pm. I think I arrive into, and depart from Term.4. I really need to get back that day, so I am getting worried that I won't make the flight. Will I have enough time to make the connection?

at JFK, LAX & SFO Delta flights are in Terminal 2 - meaning you need to take the 'Airline Terminals Train' to Terminal 4 (follow signs) and there go through security check before proceeding to your gate. Concourse A has gates A2-7, Concourse B gates B20-40. NOTE: First phase of major reconstruction of T4 opens with fanfare next Friday. However, it possible that the Delta Shuttle bus from T2 to T4, gate to gate (with no security check at T4) will already be in place. Either way you should be able to make your connection on time.

The Delta shuttle bus should be running.

  • PRG - JFK - DEN with 2h30min layover

Hi, I'm flying international from PRG to JFK Terminal 4 with DL211 which arrives at 16:30 and I need to catch 19:00 DL971 from the same terminal. Do you think 2:30 is enough to go through imigration, new second imigration SEVIS check, customs, check baggage and another security for domestic flight? Or should I look for another flights?

    That should be enough time

Thanks for quick answer:) I have one more question, how does baggage re-checking work? Do I have to go to normal airline check-in counter or is there any other place to re-check?

Delta will have a re-check desk right after you exit customs

  • How much time between airlines at T5

I will be arriving at 6:55am into T5 via Hawaiian airlines with a connecting flight on JetBlue that departs at 7:40am from T5. Will I have enough time to make the connecting flight? Would also help to know what terminal Hawaiian flies into.

Both Hawaiian and JetBlue use T5 at JFK. You will have enough time if your first flight is on-time.

  • Getting from JFK Terminal 2 to 4

Hi, I'm from England, UK and will be in the US in early July. On the way back to England we will be travelling from Buffalo (Delta Airlines) into JFK Terminal 2 at 16:10 and need to catch a 19:25 Virgin Atlantic flight from Terminal 4 back to London Heathrow. We will have hold baggage. What is the quickest way to get from T2 to T4? Is it possible to not go through security again (saves time)? Will I have enough time to catch the 19:25 (including check in etc..) Thanks

Delta operates a shuttle bus from T2 to T4 on the secure side - http://www.delta.com/content/www/en_US/traveling-with-us/airports-and-aircraft/airports/new-york-jfk.html

Thanks ZAP. Will we still be able to check in our bags and get our boarding passes on the secure side for our Virgin flight?

If your bags are checked through you won't have to do anything with them in JFK. If not you will have to leave the secure side and claim them, then take them to T4 and check them with Virgin Atlantic. You have over 3 hours so that is enough time to do all that.

OK, that's good to know. I doubt the bags will be checked through as the two flights were booked separately as part of separate trips LHR\JFK return and JFK\BUF return as we are going to niagara at the end of our NYC trip. I will ask at the airport when we check in at Buffalo on our return journey. Thanks for the advice.

Also, If we will leave the secure side can we still get the Delta shuttle bus from T2 to T4 (or an equivalent shuttle service)?

No, on the non-secure side you'll want to use the Airtrain.

  • Enough time between flights?

My husband & I are flying for the first internationally from Atlanta to Greece with a 1 hr layover at JFK. Our flight from Atlanta arrives in and departs from JFK to Athens in Terminal 3. We will be traveling Delta all the way. Will we have enough time between flights? Also, will we have to retrieve our baggage and recheck them thru?

If your first flight is on-time you will have enough time. You will not have to do anything with your baggage in JFK on the way TO Greece.
