We are returning to the U.S. through JFK in July. Flying Delta all the way. We have Global Entry. Our flight from Zurich lands at 1:14 pm and the flight to Tampa leaves at 3 pm. Will we have enough time to clear Immigration and Customs, retrieve our luggage and recheck our luggage, go through security, and I assume by this point, RUN to our gate? JFK is not familiar territory for us. Many thanks!
That should be enough time if everything goes smoothly. Global Entry really helps in your case.
I am flying in from Edinburgh arriving at JFK at 12.45 with a flight to Cleveland booked for 15.15 - also at terminal 8. Is this enough time? Will I have to go through immigration, pick up bags, check in and then go BACK through security? Thanks.
Yes, you have to do all that. What airline are you flying from Edinburgh?
Hi, flying in from Brussels with delta and connecting to Washington via delta too. Is 1hr 45 minutes enough time to get through customs and to the connection?
Yes, that should be just enough time if everything goes smoothly.
I land at JFK at 7:00pm from Paris on Delta but operating as Air France so it arrives at Terminal 1 and then want to book a flight leaving at 9:00pm on Sun Country which leaves from Terminal 4. Is there enough time?
Realistically there's close to zero chance you could make that, especially with checked baggage.
Coming in from Delta/virgin Atlantic from London at 4:40pm connection is Delta to Austin at 6:30pm. Will we have enough time to make the connection? Do we have to clear customs?
Yes, in JFK you will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, go through security and to your departure gate. You have just enough time if everything goes smoothly.
I will be flying from Atlanta to Catania,Sicily through JFK. Will I be able to check my luggage through to destination or do I have to recheck at JFK?
What airlines are you flying? Are all flights on the same reservation?
Flying on Delta to JFK, then Alitalia to Scilily (code share with Delta) All flights on same reservation.
Then you won't have to claim your bags at JFK.
Booking our return from Shannon, Ireland, to Pittsburgh going through JFK to change planes. Airline is trying to sell me an 1:50 PM arrival to JFK with a 3:20 PM departure to PIT. IF it's not enough time why are the selling it? Friday 7/14 is the date. Thanks
You pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Shannon.
Hi, my flights got changed, and now I'm not sure if I can make the connection. I'm arriving into JFK on Air France from PHX at 8:25 PM. My next flight (also on Air France) to Venice, Italy leaves at 9:13 PM!! Will I make it? Thanks for any help!
Oops, just saw that it also says operated by Delta. So, it's not really on Air France.
And...never mind! I was able to get the flight changed! Sorry everyone. This forum has great info, it's helped me just by reading. Thanks!
In July, I will be arriving on a V.Atlantic flight into JFK at 2:30pm, and departing on a domestic flight at 4:15. I think this is too tight of a connection, and I really don't want to misconnect. What does every one think?
The departing domestic flight is on Delta.
It's possible, but you are right it certainly leaves no time to spare.
I have a flight IND to JFK arriving 2:05, no checked luggage connecting to flight leaving 2:55 to LHR. No checked baggage. Just realized they were bought on two separate tickets. Will I have to go back through security? Or can I do an online check in(American airlines)? (I know that is cutting it so close)
What airline are you flying in to JFK?
From IND
Sorry, misread. American Airlines both ways
You can call American and have them joined onto the same reservation or show the second reservation to the agent in Indianapolis to have both boarding passes issued there. Then all you have to do in JFK is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate in JFK, which would mean you have enough time if the flight from Indy is on-time.
Also, I don't see any 2:55 PM flights from JFK to London on any airline (and it's unlikely there is one as that would arrive into London at like 3 AM). Are you flying somewhere else first?
Thank you! I didn't even think of this being a problem until my friend I'm meeting mentioned she was worried about me not making the connection. And you're right, I completely forgot about the second layover in Montreal.
So what airline are you flying from Montreal to London? American doesn't fly from Montreal to London.
British airways?
OK, good, so then you don't have to change terminals in JFK. You will also have to go through Canadian Passport control in Montreal.
Thank you so much for all your help!! Makes me feel much calmer
