  • Is 3.35 hours enough connecting to Domestic T4 from International T7?
    Jan 5, 2016
    3
Hi.. I am arriving from Hong Kong by Cathay Pacific at Terminal 7 time to arrival 06:00hrs and connecting by Delta Airlines DL4259 to Syracuse at Terminal 4 and time to departure is 09:35hrs, so Is 3hrs and 35 min enough for connecting?

The "minimum legal connection" for that itinerary is 6 hours. Continue at your own risk.

Realistically though, 3 and a half hours is plenty of time.

    Thank you..

  • Minimum time needed to get from International to Delta terminal

My Virgin Air flight from London is due to arrive in JFK Thursday at 5:45pm. Need to get to the Delta domestic terminal for a flight to Atlanta leaving at 7:30pm. Do I have enough time to get to my second flight? what if I only have carry on luggage?

    That should be enough time.

  • Orlando to JFK - JFK to Edinburgh 58 min transfer time

I'm thinking of booking this flight - Orlando to JFK - JFK to Edinburgh but it only has a 58 min transfer time. Is this enough time? Thanks

    What airlines?

    Ooops, sorry...Delta

Yes, that should be enough time if the first flight is on-time. If you arrive in Terminal 4 you just walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. If you arrive in Terminal 2, Delta runs a shuttle bus inside security to Terminal 4.

    Excellent...thank you!

European citizen flying in to T4 from AMS arriving 13.10pm. I have a domestic connection from T2 at 15.00pm. Delta both flights. Is this sufficient time or should I change the connecting flight? Do I have to leave the secure area and go through security again entering T2 or is it possible to transfer direct after customs? Thanks

You will arrive, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, then re-check your bags at the re-check desk. Then check your departure gate. If it is from Terminal 4, you obviously don't have to change terminals. If it is in terminal 2, the fastest way is to take the airtrain there then go through security in T2.

My Colleague is flying into JFK T4 from London and will be catching a connecting flight to Jacksonville. She will have quite a few bags with her and will need assistance. What is the best way to go about getting baggage assistance? Thanks

There is no baggage assistance in the International baggage claim. However, there are free carts to use to carry your bags through customs with.

How often does the jitney between DL T2 and T4 run? and how long would each ride take?

It runs almost constantly, the trip takes 10-15 minutes.

  • Terminal 1 to Terminal 4 with Customs

We arrive JFK Terminal 1 on Alitalia 6:55pm and must transit to Terminal 4 for an 8:30pm Delta flight. Do we have enough time to get through customs if we are registered with GOES and have nothing to declare? Thanks!

Yes, you still have to go through Immigration, claim your bags, go through customs, and re-check your bags at the re-check desk. You barely have enough time.

Thx! We plan on hand carry for our connecting flight so it sounds doable. Appreciate the help!

  • ATL to JFK on Delta - JFK to LGW on Norweigan

Flight from ATL to JFK via Delta arrive at 8:14 pm. JFK to LGW via Norweigan departs at 10:30pm. Will I have enough time to retrieve luggage and make my international flight?

It's just enough time if your Delta flight is on-time.

Thank you for your help. I opted to get an earlier flight just in case there is a delay event. Sounds like that is likely from reading this blog. Happy New Year.

Coming into JFK from Tel Aviv at 550 AM. There isan 8:30 AM flight to Denver. Is that enough time for customs and to get to the Delta terminal on time?

flight entering JFK is on El Al

That's barely enough time if everything goes smoothly.

I am on a non-stop flight from Milan to JFK on June 22nd. Arrival time is 7pm. I have to catch a Jetblue flight to denver at 8:38pm. I know it is a gamble. But will 60-75mins be enough time to clear customs and re-check in/clear security.

On two separate tickets with checked baggage that will be very difficult if not impossible.

Hello, I have a flight from DCA to SFO with a layover at JFK for 60 min (DELTA). I won't have any checked luggage. Is this enough time? I may have to change from T2 to T4? Flight arrives at JFK around 7:15 AM.

That is enough time if your first flight is on-time. Both flights will likely be in Terminal 4.
