  • JetBlue to Austrian Air
    May 23, 2016
my daughter is landing at terminal 5 (JetBlue) and then transferring to terminal 1(Austrian Air) for her flight to Tel Aviv. 2 questions 1. What's the best way to transfer between terminals? 2. Can she check her bag all the way through? 3. Will she need to go through seep unity again in terminal 1? Thanks in advance for the hel!

The only way between terminals is the AirTrain. If she purchased all her tickets on the same reservation then her bags will be checked through. If she purchased two separate reservations then she will need to claim her bags from JetBlue and re-check them with Austrian. Yes, she will have to go through security again in Terminal 1.

    Thank you!

  • Going from Jet Blue domestic to Delta International
    May 24, 2016
I guess, I will have to get my checked bags from Jet blue and then go to Delta international to fly to EU. I have 5 hours to do that. what is the easiest way to do that. I assume I have to go through TSA and customs too. Any secrets or info for me?

You should be able to check your bag all the way through with JetBlue at the place of departure. If you flying international you also don't have to pay for your bag as you would flying domestically.

Actually Jet blue told me that they will not transfer bags over to another airline when the reservation are made separately.

Yes, Maria is incorrect - Jetblue and Delta do not have an interline agreement. You do not have to go through Customs. There is no US Customs when exiting the US. You will arrive in T5, claim your bags, take the AirTrain to T4, re-check your bags with Delta, and go through security. You have enough time.

    Thank you Zap

  • Is 2.19 hrs enough for immigration clearance, baggage claim, security?
    May 23, 2016
HI, I m arriving at JFK with an AirFrance at 13:25 on 25 May. I have a connecting flight from Terminal 2 of the to Miami at 15:44 hrs. is 2.19 hrs enough time for me for immigration clearance, claim baggage, go to Terminal 2 from terminal 1, security check and check in? Please advice..

That's barely enough time if everything goes perfectly.

  • Best Way to Get to Terminal 1 from Terminal 4
    May 21, 2016
I have a very short window to get from terminal 4 to terminal 1. What is the best way top get there? Air Train? Would I have to go through security again if I take air train? Walking? How long would it take?

The Airtrain is the only way. Yes, you will have to go through security again.

  • Delta Domestic connect to Delta International
    May 21, 2016
How much time will I need to connect between Terminal 2 and Terminal 4 and still be at my gate 45 minutes before flight time. I'm scheduled to arrive JFK terminal 2 at 6:44 pm and depart internationally at 9:24pm. AND will I need to go through security in arriving at my departure terminal from my arrival terminal?

You will not have to go through security at JFK. Delta runs a shuttle bus inside security between Terminal 2 and 4. You should have plenty of time.

We are arriving at terminal 1 at 4pm from LA and our daughter at terminal 4 at 4.40pm from Vancover. Where is best to meet with a view to moving onto Manhattan from there by cab. Thank you

Meet in the Terminal 4 baggage claim. Also, you will not arrive in Terminal 1 - no flights from LA arrive in Terminal 1.

  • Delta Connection Domestic Flight to Delta International
    May 20, 2016
I am flying into JFK on a Delta Domestic Flight to make a connection for a Delta international flight to Rome. Have 90 mins to make connection. Do I have to go through security again and will I have enough time to make my flight?

No you do not have to go through security again. You will arrive in Terminal 2 or 4 and depart from Terminal 4. if you arrive in Terminal 2 then Delta operates a shuttle bus inside security to Terminal 4.

  • Connection Time
    May 20, 2016
Flying El Al into JFk and arriving at 3:45 pm. Have a connecting flight to Denver at 8:31 pm with Jet Blue. Is that ample time to go through customs and recheck baggage? Is there a terminal change?

Yes, that should be enough time. Yes, you will arrive in Terminal 4 and depart from Terminal 5.

  • Arriving jfk from lax - then catching an international flight
    May 19, 2016
Will i have to time! I am landing in jfk 2:40pm and then have anthoer flight from jfk terminal 7 departure 5;30pm. Will i jave time to take my bag from bagage claim and check in again at the chck in counter for my other flight? First flight flying on american airlines, and second airlines is british airways powered by american airlines.

If your second flight is operated by American then it will also be in Terminal 8 where you arrive. If everything is on the same reservation then you don't have to do anything with your bags. You just have to walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You have plenty of time.

  • Delta ATH to JFK to BOS
    May 19, 2016
I'm thinking about taking a Delta flight Athens to JFK (arriving terminal 4) connecting to Boston (departing terminal 4). The arrival and departure gates at JFK today for these flights were B41 and B45. My question is, at one point would I have to pass through immigration and customs, given that it appears I'd only have to walk 4 gates away to connect?

In JFK you have to go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, go through security and to your departure gate.

  • JFK Term 5 to Term 7
    May 19, 2016
Arriving jet blue into term 5 from PLS hand luggage transiting to BA Terminal 7. As I have no checked luggage to collect do I have to clear customs and re check in, or is there a transit/connection desk/system? Thank you.

Yes, you will have to go through US Immigration and customs, then take the AirTrain to Terminal 7, get your British Airways boarding pass, and go through security.

Many thanks, so no benefit in going hand luggage only, might as well go with hold luggage. Why is it so backward transiting in USA airports. Europe so much easier, just transit and hold bags get moved around the terminals.

There is an advantage of not having checked bags - you won't have to wait to claim them in T5 and you won't have to get in line to check them in T7.

    May 19, 2016

It's not impossible but it leaves no time to spare if there are any delays.

  • Terminal 4 to Terminal 1
    May 19, 2016
I am arriving to JFK from Atlanta on a delta flight (terminal 4) at 5:30 pm and then have a flight to Paris at terminal 1 that departs at 7:20pm. The trip is on one ticket. Is this enough time to make the connection?

It's possible but it leaves no time to spare if the flight from Atlanta is delayed as you will have to go through security again in Terminal 1.

  • Terminal 4 to terminal 5

JetBlue to South African Airways....made w/ 1 reservation and bags will be automatically transferred. I have a 1 hr 39 min between flights..is that enough time to get to train and thru security?

I mean coming from ORD into Terminal 5 and having 1 hr 30 min to get to Terminal 4. Thank! :)

It's not impossible, but with the recent lines it certainly won't be easy.
