Public phones are in each of the terminals, in the baggage claim area and Arrivals Halls.

  • International - Domestic Change Time
    Sep 17, 2012
Hi all-- I'll be arriving on a CX flight from HK (T7) with no bags and need to get myself very quickly to a Delta flight to Boston. What is the shortest amount of time this can be done? How bad are the domestic security lines at the Delta terminal?

As an international arrival at JFK you need to go through passport check (then most likely need to have your carry-on bag examined by Customs) before you can proceed via Airtrain (serving pre-security areas of all terminals) to either domestic terminals 2 or 3 (both served by Delta - watch the overhead screen for your connecting terminal/ gate. The Airtrain runs 24/7 - between midnight and 4am every 15 mins; between 4-7:30am every 7 mins; between 7:30am-3pm every 10 mins; between 3pm-8pm every 7 mins; between 8pm & midnight every 15 mins. T2 has gates 19-29; T3 gates 1-18.

  • USO
    Sep 7, 2012
Is there a USO at JFK? If so, what terminal?

Have checked - could not find anything - which is really strange, as all other larger US Airports do have a USO. However, I suggest yu call JFK at (718) 244 2444. Also a good place to find related info: US Military personnel: TSA has a very helpful site as to checkpoints, checked bags, firearms transport, disabilityies, and more: Open

  • 1hour layover
    Sep 1, 2012
hi, is 1 hour lay over in jfk to orlando enough time? we will be arriving at 2 15pm and leaving at 3 30pm. thanks

On arrival at JFK follow signs to the Airtrain which serves all terminals - on arrival at your connecting terminal you need to go through security check before proceeding to your gate. For details, open then click on "Terminal Map" under QUICK LINKS and scroll down to the text.

  • Car rental at JFK at midnight

Is there a car rental place at JFK open at midnight on sunday evenings?

Most rental car agencies close way before midnight. You need to search each major rental agency separately.

  • Transportation from T4 toT5

My flight from Kuwait Airways Flight KU 0101 scheduled to arrive at JFK at1820.How can I catch the Jet Blue Flight to Jacksonville at 2059 after the Imigration

    1. Prior to departure make sure that Kuwait Airways will transfer your checked bags to JetBlue - if not, you will need to take those bags with you to the connecting terminal and check them in with JetBlue. 2. You will arrive at the International Terminal 4 of JFK and most likely will depart from Terminal 5 (Jet Blue uses both T4 & T5). Your overhead screens on arrival will show you the terminal, gate & departure times. 3. As an international arrival, you need to go through passport check, retrieve checked bags, go through customs clearance and - if transferring to another flight - re-check-in bag (the tag should indicate layover and final destination Airport Codes). Count on 35-55 mins for this procedure. Then follow signs to the Airtrain which arrives at pre-security at T5, go through security check and on to your gate.

  • Terminal 1 to Terminal 7
    Aug 19, 2012
I arrive Turkish Airlines and have 2 hours and 15 minutes to get to a flight with Air Canada in Terminal 7. I am making sure the baggage connection happens without me touching my bags as both are star alliance members. Do I have enough time even if I need to get my bags myself?

    Arriving in Terminal 1*

You have plenty of time. However, as an international arrival you will need to go through passport check, retrieve checked bags, go through customs clearance and - if transferring to another flight - re-check-in bag where indicated (the tag should indicate layover and final destination Airport Codes). Thereafter you need to take the Airtrain (follow signs) which serves all terminals outside of the secured areas. 3. At Terminal 7 you need to go through security check and proceed to the large Concourse level with surrounding gates.

  • go from terminal 3 to 1 JFK
    Aug 10, 2012
how do a get from terminal 3 where I arrive from Ft.Lauderdale, to terminal 1 for departure to Rome, on JFK ?

Take the free Airtrain which runs on average every 8 mins and takes only minutes between terminals - however, it arrives at the pre-securiy areas, meaning you need to go through security check at Terminal 1 before continuing on to your connecting gate.

  • T4 to T1 (UK Citizen - transit visa? )
    Aug 3, 2012
I am a UK citize arriving at T4 and connecting flight is at T1 - do I need a transit visa? or can I change terminals easily?

    1. If you use different airlines, your first priority is to find out from your your airline departing UK if it will transfer your bags to connecting fight, as not all airlines do - if not, you would have to take your bag along from T4 to T1 & check it in at your next airline's counter. 2. All international arrivals at U.S. go through passport check, retrieve checked bags, go through customs clearance and - if transferring to another flight - re-check-in bag were indicated (the tag should state original, layover and final destination Airport Codes). This procedure can take from 35 to 55 min. Thereafter, follow signs to board the AirTrain which runs on average every 8 mins and takes only minutes between each terminal. At Terminal 1 it stops at the Arrivals level, outside, center. You need to enter the terminal, go through security check and on to your gate. NOTE: when transferring international to domestic flights, ask your flight attendant prior to arrival at JFK to hand you a tag which will give you an express pass through security upon arrival.

  • from T4 to T5
    Aug 1, 2012
I arrive on emirates airline to T4 and have connection with jet blue to boston in T5, i have 2hrs transit time, is it enough? as i have checked in baggages and how can i move from T4 to T5? thx

    1. International arrivals need to go through passport clearance, pick up bags, & go through customs clearance. (a) If Emirates will transfer bags to your JetBlue flight (check with Emirates first), you simply re-check-in your bag at the dedicated area; (b) if Emirates does not transfer your bags, you need to take them on to the Airtrain and check them in at the JetBlue counter on the Departures level of T5. The Airtrain, arrives at Terminal 4 inside arrivals level, at center and at Terminal 5 near gate 25 (or 1 on opposite side) - the Airtrain stops at pre-security areas only. You need to go through security check before proceeding to your gate. Two hours are quite enough, even for checking in your bags at T5.

  • Terminal 7 arrivals
    Jul 30, 2012
I arrive LGA, taxi to JFK T 7. Where can I meet family once they clear immigration and customs?

If you arrive at JFK by car, you have the option of using the free 70-space Cell Phone Lot located near the Airport entrance--just off the Van Wyck Expressway. All the terminals can be accessed from this lot in less than 5 minutes. The lot allows drivers to wait until their arriving passengers have arrived, collected their baggage and call you to be picked up at the curb. Alternatively, park in the short-term lot or the nearest garage to the terminal. Otherwise, it may be a good idea to meet up near the information counter on the Arrivals level of Terminal 7.

Is it possible to walk from Terminal 3 to Terminal and vice versa?

You did not indicate the other terminal. Therefore, I suggest you open and click on "Terminal Map" under QUICK LINKS. Below the map are details about all 7 terminals and their connections.

  • Terminal 8 - Concourses B and C
    Jul 24, 2012
On the map of Terminal 8 - how are Concourse B and Concourse C connected? Is there a way to walk from one to the other? Hard to tell on map. Thanks!

On arrival at JFK, Terminal 8, Concourse B, simply walk towards the Departure level and over to Concourse C (signs will guide you). the B gates are for United & US Airways. Concourse B has gates west B15 to B37; gates east B38 to B60, branching into north gates B59 to B79, and south gates B80 to B95.
