Arriving into JFK from SVO, catching a connecting Jet Blue flight to MSY. Is 2 hours and 15 minutes enough? I do have "Mobile Passport" app so should be able to get through immigration in a timely manner. But I know there can be a line to get bags, and a LOOONG line to exist customs, and mass confusion to drop bags for the next flight, and a line for the next TSA check, although I have FF status that helps.
It will be very close. You seem to have a good idea of what is involved.
I will arrive to JFK from Paris with Air France and will have a connection to Miami with Delta, what is the minimum time reccomanded for the connection? I have luggage that I sent.
Also, will I have to go through the passport control in order to get the luggage or can I collect the luggage before the passport control and continue to my Delta flight?

Thanks!
Yes, you will have to go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, change terminals, re-check your bags with Delta, and go through security. I recommend at least 2 hours, preferably a little more.
Hi I am flying from Pittsburgh to London via JFK airport with Virgin Atlantic. Arriving and departing on Terminal 4- do i have to claim my baggage and re-check again for my flight to London? Thank you
No, you do not have to claim and re-check your bags on your way to London. There is no US Customs when leaving the US. Note that the flight from Pittsburgh will be operated by Delta.
What about on my way back? I am going thru the same route but in reverse with the sane airline . London- JFK-Pittsburgh. Do i have to claim my luggage at JFK and re-check it for my flight. Pittsburgh. Do i have to take buses or train for domestic to international flight like LAX? I haven't fly from JFK so i have no clue hon, thanks again for the info.
Yes, on the way back you will have to go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, then re-check your bags at the re-check desk and go through security and to your departure gate. Everything will be in Terminal 4 again.
hello. any advice will be appreciated on this...I am travelling in april from London to Trinidad and have had to book 2 separate tickets London - jfk with virgin (terminal 4) arriving at 2.30 and need to get my 2nd flight also from terminal 4 om to Trinidad with Caribbean airlines at 17.05...would this be enough time to clear customs and re-check my one baggage????
Realistically I think that would be pretty difficult if not impossible.
thanks for the reply...as I have not yet booked due to being worried that was not enough time...there is another flight that gives me 5 hrs before the next flight on to Trinidad and 3.5 hours on the return journey. this should be adequate right?
Yes, that would be enough time.
I am arriving at JFK at 10:40 pm in terminal 5 and have to transfer to terminal one, get through security again and get to my flight before 12:20 am. Does security take less than an hour? I will not have any checked luggage either. Any information would be great, it is my first time flying internationally so I am a bit nervous and stressed they only gave me 1 hr and 40 minutes. Please and thank you!
With no checked baggage this is possible but leaves no time to spare.
Thanks for the responce. Any advice?
You'll have to simply take the AirTrain and move as quickly as you can.
I am flying from Europe (with a EU paassport) to Los Angeles via JFK. I will land in JFK on a Monday afternnon at around 4 pm and leave again at 6 pm for LA. Is that enough time to pass through immigration and passport control? According to the travel agency I am booking from is a but tight..Thanks!

Yes, that is enough time.
Hi,
I need to fly from FRA to CHA end of September, Delta offers a flightplan with a ~2h stop in JFK. DL 400 from FRA to JFK arrives at 1:27pm, DL 206 from JFK to ATL departs at 3:20pm. Is that enough time in between? Thanks!
Yes, that is just enough time if everything goes smoothly.
I am landing at JetBlue at JFK tomorrow at 1:27 p.m. and have a 6:45 p.m. flight on El Al. I booked the flights separately. I am travelling with luggage. TY!
You will arrive in Terminal 5 and depart from Terminal 4. You will collect your bags from JetBlue, take the AirTrain to T4, re-check them with El Al and go through security. You have enough time.
We fly from Seattle with Delta arriving at 7:00am. We then fly on to the D.R. at 8:30.Also on Delta. Do we have claim our baggage and recheck or will they forward them on for us? Also is the is enough time to get to our next gate? Do we have to leave the airport or is there a internal way to get to the next terminal. Thank you!!
You don't have to do anything with your bags in JFK on the way to D.R. Yes, that is enough time. Both flights should be in Terminal 4.
