Am arriving to JFK from Dubai at 8:45pm (Emirates Airlines). Then planning to take the 11:10pm flight to Boston (Jet Blue). First - will i have to do immigration at JFK or Boston? Secondly, do i have enough time to catch the flight to Boston? Thanks.
In JFK you will have to go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk (if your bags are tagged to Boston), then go to Terminal 5, through security and to your departure gate. You have just enough time if everything goes smoothly and everything is booked on one reservation.
Thank you. What if the Boston flight is booked on a separate reservation? Thanks
Then you will have to take your bags to the JetBlue ticket counter in Terminal 5 to re-check them, then go through security there.
Hello - I separately bought tickets for IAD to JFK (on Jetblue) and then JFK to Lisbon (on TAP). There is an interline agreement between these airlines. Will my bags go through to Lisbon when I check-in at IAD? When I wrote Jet Blue, they acknowledged the interline agreement but said: "Keep in mind that you may need to collect your bags for screening through customs in JFK and recheck the bag with TAP, depending on airport procedures."
I should add that I get into JFK at 9:50 pm in the Jet Blue flight (terminal 5, I believe) and leave JFK at 11:40 pm on the TAP flight (terminal 5 also, I believe)
There is no US Customs when leaving the US. This is a very difficult connection if you can't get your bags checked through. If you CAN get your bags checked through it will be very easy.
I am debating on booking a flight from Phoenix to Halifax with a 1 hour 3 min connection in JFK. I am assuming we would have to switch from the domestic terminal to international terminal? Is this enough time?
JFK has six terminals, 5 of which handle international flights. What airlines would you be flying?
I am flying with Delta from Edinburgh to JFK arriving at 1.30 (Terminal 4) and have a two hour layover before my next delta flight to Miami 3.30 (terminal 2) is that adequate or not?
Yes, that should be enough time if everything goes smoothly.
Hello, we are coming on Delta into Terminal 2, then fluign out by Aeroflot Terminal 1. Do we need to go through security between the terminals? I remember they were somewhat connected and there was no need to use the airtrain, but not sure about the security. We have 1h 40 min between flights. Is it enough time? Thx!
Yes, you will have to go through security again. T1 is not connected to any other terminals inside security.
We are landing JFK from Barcelona on Air Portugal at 8:30pm (just go notice that the landing time changed from 7:30pm). Any way we can make a Jet Blue flight leaving at 9:25pm with no checked bags? Trying not to say overnight. Thanks!
No, that will be impossible. You'll probably have to spend the night.
I am wondering if 1 hour 35 minutes is enough transfer time for an international flight to a domestic flight all on Delta. I am a non-US passport holder, eligible to use automated CBP machines.
Where are you flying into JFK from? It should be barely enough time if everything goes perfectly.
I am hoping to book a flight that is $120 cheaper, but also not willing to risk missing the flight. I will be arriving from Paris at 4:05, I would like to book a flight that leaves for Indianapolis at 5:30 all on 1/22. I realize that I would need to go through customs, and claim baggage, and check it with the other airline, is this doable whatsoever?
No, I would really advise against trying that.
Arriving Korean air @ 21:00
connecting to JetBlue at 22:00
No, that would be completely impossible. Plan on spending the night in New York.
Is the tram inside or outside. Of security?
The AirTrain runs outside security. Only Delta's shuttle bus between Terminals 2 and 4 runs inside security.
