Hi, I land on into t4 from London at 1.30pm and have a departing flight out of t8 to DC at 3pm. Travelling with hand baggage only. Is this enough time to make it?

If your flight from London is on-time and you check in online for your flight to DC before you leave London, you barely have enough time.

Hi, Next week i have an international flight from London to JFK, and then a couple hours later, a connecting flight to Orlando. Will I need to pick up my baggage and re check or will it automatically be checked to my second flight?

Yes, in JFK you will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs. If both tickets are on the same reservation you can then re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then go through security and to your departure gate.

yeah, both tickets are on the same reservation. So nonetheless I will need to pick up my bags and re check them?

Yes. you have to pick up your bags to go through US Customs.

    ok, thank you very much!

Hi, I am flying in from California & my friend is coming from London. Where would be a good place to find each other? We want to taxi into the city together.

    What airlines are you flying?

  • Using Club Lounge of different airline during layover
    Aug 4, 2015
Is it possible to use the US Airways/American club lounge at T8, while laying over from a Delta domestic filght and connecting to a Delta internation flight to Barcelona? Will I need to pass thru security at T8 for the club lounge and then again at T4 for the Delta flt to Barcelona?

Yes, you would have to pass through security twice. Technically they should allow you through security in T8 to access the lounge with a valid ticket departing that day, but they are not obligated to.

I need to transfer between terminal 8 and 1. I have seperate tickets, so I will have to carry two lugages and one carryover with me. Will it be possible to travel by Air Train with those luggages? Will I have enough time to board and exit the train with those loads?

Yes, you can take your luggage on the AirTrain. You should have enough time.

    Thank You ZAP.

  • Enough time?

Hi, I will arrive at JFK from Amsterdam on flight DL 49 at 12:49 and leave to Santo Domingo on DL 429 at 15:00? Is that enough time to change planes? Will I have to get my bags or will the airline take care of it? What will be the procedure after we land in JFK? I belive I need ESTA for changing planes in JFK? Do I need to change terminals? Thank you

That should be enough time. You will land in Terminal 4,go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then go through security. Your flight to Santo Domingo will also be from Terminal 4. Yes, if you are an EU citizen you will have to complete ESTA.

  • British Airways / Jet Blue baggage arramgement
    Aug 5, 2015
Greetings all, I will be travelling from London to Orlando in April 2016, with a connecting flight in New York, JFK. The flight to New York is with British Airways(BA) and then Jet Blue Airways to Orlando. As BA is in alliance with Jet Blue, I was wondering whether my luggage could be checked-in for Orlando from London? Thanking you in advance of your response.

If both tickets are purchased on the same reservation your bags will be tagged through to Orlando but you will have to claim them to go through US Customs in New York then re-check them at the re-check desk immediately after.

I thank you kindly for your response.

Hallo I am arriving wiht an international flight on saturday August 1 at 4.10 pm at terminal and have to go go to terminal 8 for a domestic flight which leaves at 7.35 pm. which one is the fastest way ? Does the airtrain travel both ways since terminal 8 is close to terminal 1. Do I have to go all the wayb around from 1 to 2 to 3 etc to terminal 8, or can I go directly to T8 from 1 ? how long does it take ?

Yes, the airtrain travels both ways. It should take less than 10 minutes for you to get between terminals.

Hi everyone! On August 10th I am flying to JFK terminal 4. I the have a connecting flight on Terminal 2 in 2h 40mins.Does anyone know how I can get from JFK Terminal 4 to Terminal 2 and how long does it take?

Is your arriving flight domestic or International? To literally get between the terminals only takes 5-10 minutes on the Delta shuttle bus or AirTrain.

it's international. I'm flying from london to JFK terminal 4, then JFK to orlando terminal 2. Great, that sounds good. Thanks!

  • When arrive at airport to pick up international traveler (12:55pm)
    Jul 31, 2015
I am picking up someone who is arriving on AirFrance at 12:55 tomorrow. What time should I arrive at JFK? I don't want to waste hours at airport, but don't want person to wait either. Thanks!! Also, is there easy parking for pickup at Terminal 1?

I would plan on arriving around 2. They might have to wait for you for a bit but not too long.

Hi! I'm arriving at Jfk's T1 with an international flight, then I've a connecting flight 2 hours and 50 minutes later at T2. Is that enough time? Is there a faster way to recheck our bags to

If both tickets were purchased on the same reservation you can re-check them at the re-check desk right after clearing US customs. Otherwise you will have to take them to Terminal 2 to re-check.

Yes, we purchased them together. So we just have to take them there and then go to the security control at T2? Thanks for your answer:)

Yes, but also double check the terminals because some Delta domestic flights use Terminal 2 and some use Terminal 4.

  • Do I have enough time to connect
    Jul 30, 2015
We are considering a flight from Orlando to Singapore, with a first connection at JFK airport in NY. The first flight is a Singapore Airlines one operated by Jet Blue, arriving in Terminal 5, connecting to Singapore Airlines plane in Terminal 4. The layover is 2 hours. Is this enough time to make flight?

Yes, that should be enough time. You just have to take the AirTrain from T5 to T4 and go through security.

Hi, I'm flying out from RDU to JFK, and then from JFK to Singapore. I bought both tickets separately, and have one checked bag. My transit time is about 2 and a half hours, and both flights are in the same terminal. Is there enough time, and will I have to go to baggage claim in JFK and go through security again? Thanks.

Yes, you will have to go to the baggage claim, claim your bags, then take them to the second airline's ticket counter and re-check your bags, then go through security. You should have enough time if your first flight is on-time.
